- Q: I don‘t want to rent a wet saw for just a few pieces of tile. And I certainly don‘t need to buy one. Do some places offer this service if so where. Thanks
- A lot of places that sell tile will do this service. Home depot and Lowes does too. I believe , but not sure they charge for all cuts but call them to check their policy. A lot of places that sell tile will do it for a small fee. When I had my store we cut a customers tile ( if they bought it from us) for free , up to ten cuts and then a dollar a cut after that. Or a dollar a cut if they bought the tile some where else. Call tile store or where you bought the tile. You may have to leave it until a installer comes back at night or on occasion I took tile to the job site and cut it the next day. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
- Q: The tile is attached to sheetrock and I don‘t want to damage the sheetrock by ripping off the old tile.
- I definitely wouldnt recommend tiling over tile. Thats asking for trouble. It would be much better in the long run to just pull up the tile and sheetrock. Maybe you can jigsaw the part of the sheetrock where the tiles are at that way you can salvage what sheetrock you can. Then re-sheetrock where the tiles were at and tile away. To tile over tile is just bad work and you would probably have to do it anyway. Might as well do it right the first time and get it overwith. =)
- Q: Gold tiles and gold medals in Asia which is good
- 2, to see the side of the granules of granules are fine and even, the granules are large, rough, then the brick body density crisp, the use of the process will certainly be a problem, give a simple example: you get the house is usually the embryo room, wall The surface is very rough cement surface, when you use the putty powder after the wall is relatively smooth, delicate, and you use such a standard to see just fine. 3, the brick stand up, hand tapping the brick body, the more crisp the sound to prove that the higher the density of brick, the better the quality, the more dull the tones to prove that the worse the density of tiles, tiles, anti-fouling, 4, if it is to buy polished tiles (600 specifications above the tiles), hand touch the brick body surface (hand back touch), start to feel the more smooth proof of the brick surface of the pinhole less, the higher the anti-fouling ability, as long as Do not worry about non-slip problems in the bathroom or in the kitchen.
- Q: We‘re fixing our place and will need about 1200 sq ft of 24x24 tile. Any ideas as to how/where one can get this at wholesale/lower cost? Thanks!
- Go to tile stores and look for discontinued tile. You can usually get it cheaper, but 24x24 is going to be pricey any way you look at it. You could go with smaller tile as an accent, a border, or a design to help lower the cost.
- Q: My husband and I are disagreeing about tile on the wall. What is your opinion about tile on the bathroom wall, half way up? Here are the yes and no‘s of arguments:YES:The tile is neutral and beautiful. There is a WOW factor when you walk in and see the extra tile. It‘s practical for our household with a one year old who splashes and may smudge a non-tiled bathroom wall.NO:It‘s old fashioned, not necessary and I would rather have empty wall space available to paint from top to bottom. There only needs to be tile around the bath tub, for splashing and practicality purposes.
- I prefer having tile to not having tile for the wow factor. But generally it is more expensive than people realize to have it done right. But I don't see what you talking about for practicality issues. Tiling doesn't waterproof a surface. If you apply tile over OSB, you will have toxic mold in one month. If you apply cement board directly over studs and then tile, you will have toxic levels of mold on the studs within a year. If you want waterproofing you have to install it into your tile setup.
- Q: There is a broken tile in my hall, and two of them are loose. do I need to scrape off the old dry morter that was under them? What do I purchase to secure them? mortor, grout or? I noticed that grout comes in many colors- mine is the shade of sand. Also, the one tile has to have a cut out for the door - is there any other way to cut it than with a tile saw?
- Yes, okorder /
- Q: After laying the tile I noticed that they have a hazy patch which appears unglazed in each tile. Is there a substance that I could apply to give the tiles an even look?
- Did you glaze them yourself? If not call the manufacturer....they should send a rep to your home or send a sample of tiles to determine what to do.
- Q: Can I go over the exixting tile,or do I have to remove the old tile first. There is ceramic tile there now,and I want to intsall new ceramic tile.I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question.
- You'll need to remove the old tile and grout.Clean and prep the surface before doing the new tile.
- Q: the tile is like a plastic what can i use to renstall the tile it is on the wall in the shower how long do i have to let the wall dry before putting tile back up and how long will i need to let it dry before using the shower again
- i would not invest alot of money in this type of repair job , but i have done a a few similar jobs like it using a waterproof caulk or a basic construction addhesive like liquid nails.let walls dry overnight then set with caulk or addhesive and let dry about 4 or 5 hours. drying times are usually listed on the adhesive tubes.
- Q: hi, we need to put tiles for a room of size 10x16 fts . we will be using 2x2 ft vitrified tiles. I want to know how many tiles are required and how the cost of tile is defined in shop. (price is for 1 piece or 1 sq feet ?)
- 34: if the comparable variable ison the two components of an equation ought to it have the comparable fee on the two components. clarify. for which equation is x=0 no longer a answer? a: 3x+2=2-x b 2.5x+3=x c: -x+4=3x+4 d: 6x+2=x+2 *i think of its b. am i precise?* sure. What does an equation propose? The x represents some unknown variety or numbers. they ought to be comparable on the two components or you may use a distinctive variable/letter.
