6. What's the characteristics about porcelain tiles and glazed tiles? Which one

more slippery, more aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean?

Glazed tiles are colorful, the effect is rather diverse, stain-slip, abrasion resistance but worse than the porcelain tiles. Long-term use may wear a large surface; porcelain tiles have the higher degree, long hard wear surface. Good performance and stable cleanup (before playing the best times to use the wax to improve stain resistance). The porcelain tiles are weaker performance in non-slip than glazed tiles. We should take attention on its anti-slip properties, face down in a tiled brick water testing.

7. How to choose bathroom tiles? Porcelain tiles or glazed tiles?

Currently used in the bathroom tiles with glazed tiles (mainly from price considerations, some high-end can choose tiles, notice to choose tiles), divided into Shinny and Matt two kinds. Light color makes people feel shinny, but the bathroom more appropriate to create a warm feeling, so the best choose is uses matte, the shinny feels more soft and not dazzling.

Q: What is the difference between polished tiles and ordinary tiles?
Polished tiles, as the name suggests is polished brick, so the surface is relatively smooth
Q: My husband and I bought a house where most of the rooms (kitchen, dining room, entertainment room, den, and laundry room) are all tiled with these Terra cotta like tiles. They are a southern type rusty red and stain easily. My husband loves the tiles and wants to keep them. He‘s concented on changing the color if I want though, as long as I keep the origional tile. I‘m trying to make the house look a bit more elegant/country (Blues, silvers, whites, golds, dark greens, etc. Elegant and formal but still bright and airy) While keeping the tile, is there any way to stain it another color and do some kind of glossy seal? What color might keep that feel? What kind of products work best?
I wouldn't bother doing it. You could get a sealer the seal the tile because I think I remember my dad saying Terra Cotta tiles are very porous. But I don't think that trying to put paint or changing its color would give you satisfactory results.
Q: How do you use tiles? I‘m sure it‘s easy, but I don‘t know how to use them yet. They look pretty complex. Thanks. I appreciate it.
it isn't really as easy as you'd think. 1. create a background 2.make sure to check the box labeled Use as tile set 3.open up the room you want the tiles to appear in 4.there should be some tabs below the upper left corner 5.click on Tiles 6.under the big gray blank space(wich is just below the tabs) there should be a place to select the tile you want to use 7.after selecting the tile the gray empty space should show the tile. 8.click in the room on the spot you want the tile. remember, tiles are basicly drawings. so objects sometimes go over or under them. experiment with the layers to solve this :)
Q: A roofer tosses a piece of roofing tile froma aroof onto the gound 30 feet below. He tosses the tile with an initial downward velocity of 10 feet per second. 1. Make an equation to find hoe long it takes the tile to hit the ground. Use, H=-16t^2+vt+h, where h is the height after t seconds, v is the inital velocity, and h is initail height.2. How long does it take to hit the ground? -------gt; PLEASE HELP ME WITH NUMBER 1.....I REALLY DON‘T GET IT! :)
A roofer tosses a piece of roofing tile froma aroof onto the gound 30 feet below. He tosses the tile with an initial downward velocity of 10 feet per second. <3 CHANEL<3 1. H=-16t^2+vt+h 0 = -16t? + 10t + 30 ============================= 16t? - 10t - 30 = 0 ? Ans ============================= 2. How long does it take to hit the ground? Quadratic formula: at? + bt + c t = [-b±√b? -4ac}/2a t = [-(-10)±√(-10)? - 4(16)(-30)]/2(16) t = [10 ±√100 + 1920]/2 t = [10 ± 44.94]/2 ======================== t = 27.47 sec ? Ans ======================== hope this helps Remember that Jesus loves you. Know Him in His words the Bible. God Bless Lim?E
Q: Our house has Asbestos floor tiles throughout. (I had them tested, and they definitely contain asbestos.)The dilemma: Currently these tiles are covered with carpet. The carpet is old and ugly and needs to be replaced. We want to replace it with Laminate flooring.I‘m worried about pulling up the carpet tacks at the edges. Is there a safe way to do that? Also, is it safe to put Laminate flooring over asbestos tiles?
This probably isn't going to be cheap but you MUST get the asbestos out of the house asap. The only legal way is to employ a specialist firm to come in and remove it for you as they will have all the right equipment to remove it safely. They will also be licensed to take it away and dispose of it correctly. It's not just a matter of taking it to the local waste disposal site. If they're a reasonable company they may even take your old carpets away for you aswell because if they've been laid directly on top of the tiles there'll definitely be traces of asbestos in the carpets.
Q: I‘m remodeling my kitchen back splash and bathroom shower and i love the Moroccan tiles. Does anyone know any source for Moroccan tiles in San Francisco, California?
The okorder / Cheers, and Good luck Anna,
Q: I‘m installing a kitchen back splash of 1 x 1 glass tile. Right now there is drywall where the tile will be. I‘ve read that it is better to use cement backing board as a substrate. Is this really necessary or can I just use thin-set to mount the tile directly to the drywall and then grout as usual? Thanks for your help!
Dry wall is fine and you might want to use a mastic so they don t slide.. Proper setting of the tile is important.. I gently beat the tile in w/ my grout float while I m setting them.. Full coverage is also a must since you can sometimes see thru some glass tiles..I ve never had a problem with this though..
Q: We are thinking about adding small mosaic or stone tiles on our kitchen backsplash. We recently went to a short class at Home Depot on tiling. The guy there reccommended installing a backerboard on drywall first. Is this difficult for a first-time DIYer? Several of the tutorials I‘ve found online install directly onto the drywall. Any recommendations? What are the consequences for installing directly onto the drywall? Thanks in advance.

Q: The tile I want to clean was built with the house back in the early 1900‘s but still in very good condition what would be the best way to clean that because its very dirty, and i think its porcealin. The second set of tile looks like it was put in back in the seventies but doesn‘t match the original tile at all, what would be the best way to change the color other than replacing it. Could i use pray paint?
Do not use LimeAway! This product is an acid that will etch the glazing on the surface of the tile. This result is not repairable. The most safe and effective way to clean dirty tile and grout is to use a cleaner specifically designed for this use. Check a local floorcovering store, especially if there's one in your area that specialized in tile. Look for a heavy duty tile and grout cleaner, there should be several options available. Any kind of paint that I'm aware of is not a viable long term option. Paint will fail to penetrate the glaze of the tile, and therefore will be subject to wear fairly quickly.
Q: The hammer took a chip out of one tile, the chip is about the size of a pencil eraser. I‘m just heartbroken as we just had this tile installed 12 days ago! Is there any way to fix this- short of replacing the tile? I‘ve already bought a rug that will cover the hole but I‘d still like to fix it if I can. Just in case we ever would like to go without a rug. Thank you!!!
You break a couple tile so that you can get under those next to it. Using a crow bar or some other tool that will allow you to pry up the surrounding tile go at it. After you have gotten a few up look for a crack in the under layment. If it's backer-board or plywood that is NOT 3/4 inch thick you may be able to pry it up and thus remove large sections of the tile still attached to the board. Take your time and you will get-er-done. Have fun.
