- Q: what are the application of crane?
- To lift and handle heavy objects. Haven't you seen giant cranes lifting big containers ( having automobiles) from docks and placing them on ships?
- Q: What are the components of a tower crane? What are its main technical parameters? What is lifting torque?
- Part: foundation, tower, wall unit, excessive section, lifting mechanism, rotating mechanism, lifting mechanism, the lifting arm, a balance arm, electrical control, safety protection device etc..Main technical parameters: maximum lifting weight, amplitude and maximum amplitudeLifting torque = magnitude X maximum amplitude lifting
- Q: How the cranes can stand without any tipping with huge counter weights on its back? If there is no suspended load also the crane is is still stable with huge counter weights on its back. How it can possible? Why crane is not offballencing while we adding extra counter weights on it without any suspended load?
- Usually the counterweights can move back and forth on an arm. They are moved toward the crane when there is no load and away from the crane when there is a load. If the counterweights can't move, then the crane must be designed to hold (at least) the minimum counterweights in their fixed location. As the crane gets loaded, the net moment decreases, and then increases in the other direction as more and more load gets added. It is still likely that the maximum design moment when loaded far exceeds the moment due to the counterweights on an unloaded crane.
- Q: who invented cranes?
- Lost in the mists of time. We know that the Babylonians and Egyptians used simple cranes a few thousand years BC.
- Q: I know that you have to unfold the origami paper crane, but how do you find the surface area of it???????????????????????????/ please help...........
- Do you remember the formula for determining area? For a flat object (like your paper) the formula is Length X Width = Area. or LW=A So unfold your paper, and measure the length and the width, and simply multiply the two numbers. The resulting number will be your area. Of course, that is the area of the unfolded paper. Your crane in it's folded form will have a much different, and harder to find, surface area value.
- Q: Do large semi-submersible crane vessels such as the SSCV Thialf propel themselves to work sites or are they carried on heavy-lift ships. I understand they have propulsion systems but the just seem so bulky, inefficient, and slow to move across oceans on their own.
- Very large capacity crane vessels have propulsion machinery for manoeuvring when on station. The most modern designs of semi-submersible vessel use them to achieve 'dynamic positioning'. Older designs used the propulsion systems to assist when deploying the anchors in the correct pattern. The vessels are towed by tugs when making deep sea passages. First generation crane vessels had much smaller lifting capacities and were either constructed on conventional hulls or were converted from existing ships. These types were capable of making ocean passages using their own propelling machinery.
- Q: I am making a crane(jib) whatever you call it and I have a concept for the crane itself but not for how I will actually move the camera. I heard wires work but I can not seem to grasp teh concept.* It is a heaver camera by the way*
- On a real camera crane you would press the up and down button that moves the wrist part of it. ( I drove a forklift). If you are doing to yourself you'll have to rely on the elbow movements. I might think about renting a Genie lift. And letting someone be your hands in the thing. Unless you know how to build a fully articulating hydraulic ball-joint?
- Q: How do cranes get from one construction site to another without hitting streetlights, wires, car, buildings?
- They dodge by the stuff as they fly along. Duhhh
- Q: There are 2 Sandhill cranes that come by my house often because I feed them. I noticed that one of them has its right foot bent up awkwardly. It still moves around and travels with ease, but I wonder if there is something I could about it? Who should I contact?
- Contact US Fish and Wildlife Service: www.fws /
- Q: Around how much would it be to rent a crane to put a jacuzzi in my backyard.
- a crane rental will cost 5 times what the jacuzzi costs, maybe more depending on if there even any crane rental places anywhere near you have you even talked to the jacuzzi dealer to see how they deliver it normally? has he come out and looked at your property to see if there are any problems getting it in your yard?
