Q: i was mixed up vermiculite with water in a bowl for gardening purposes now i find out that vermiculite might have abestos in it? should i throw the bowl out or would a good clean save the bowl?
Just okorder
Q: There are 8 eggs in the tank, the snake does not lay near them, is this normal? Do you think they are fertile eggs and what do I need to do with them if anything? How long would it take for them to hatch?
If your eggs are fertile, you need to get them in an incubator A.S.A.P. They need to be set in moist Vermiculite and you gotta keep the humidity up in the 90% area. The temperature should be in the 82-86 degree area. You'll be able to tell if your eggs are fertile or not because after about a week they will start to turn rotton and yellow and start to smell really bad. Throw those out. When handling your eggs, be careful to not turn them over in any way, shape or form, because you will kill the embryo inside and the baby will not hatch. Hope that helps and good luck!
Q: the dirt in my yard is compact and its like dust no nutrients Ive till the yard so what 2 do next?
ok, right here is going: DOT 3 fluid takes a undeniable volume of heat earlier it starts off to grow to be caustic to the rubber sealsthis the main generally used fluid in vehicle purposes. DOT 4 takes a extra physically powerful warmth score that's the huge majority of motorbike bake fluids. severe extreme overall performance purposes take DOT 5. this may be in Lamborghini's , and so on moist calipers? the respond bart gave is extreeemly silly.
Q: .laid in or do i have to use vermiculite? obviously in the wild the eggs would be layed in the soil and left, so isn‘t this viable as long as constant temps are kept?ALSO, is it possible to tell if the eggs are fertilised or not? because i recently got my female 2/3 months ago and put her in with my male and i‘m not sure if they had much contact. They copulated once but his hemi penis didn‘t really look like it was going anywhere inside the female, does it need to do this or would it be a case of a simple ‘rub‘ thankyou for any help! :)
the female will take no part in incubating the eggs. She trusts the soil to do that for her. The soil would have to stay a constant temp for hatching water dragon eggs. The humidity has to stay fairly constant as well. As far as care for the eggs, don't turn them. When the egg is laid the embryo inside attaches to the egg wall. If you turn or tilt the eggs too much the baby inside drowns. I would find a good web site for hatching reptile eggs and follow the directions to the word. After so many weeks of the incubation length you might be able to candle the eggs.
Q: Where to find few bags of Vermiculite in Austin TX?
They seem fine. What type of geckos are they? A particular morph? If they're giant mixed with something, it could be one got the giant and one didn't. One might be dead. Try candling them with a flashlight. Don't turn them upside down! This WILL kill them.
Q: i have 80% cow manure and 20% worm castings for soil ...i need help on mixture
Compost might help, but id add soil as well
Q: what have you all used for egg hatching? I am using perilite at the moment any pro's or con's to each. respond if you have personal experience with either.
do you mean a substrate for flooring or for shedding? for shedding i use spagnum moss its perfect! and easy to maintain, if you mean as a flooring i have a simple wood looking lino or vinyl floor tile as they are called, these are cheap, easy to maintain as they wipe clean and my geckos love them as they let the heat through and keep the heat from the bulb perfectly, you can find these at your local diy store or pound store. just wipe clean everymonth and they are perfect for little messes the critters create! i hope this helped good luck with whatever you choose!
Q: I just bought m First House and I have a Possible asbestos vermiculite in the attic, I was going to try and have it removed but was told the price was 8-10K to do it, So I thought about encapsulating it with spray in foam insulation. Would this be a good idea or should I have it removed and then spray in foam. It just a idea at this point on a very tight budget.
I think blown in insulation is your best and safest bet.
Q: My Bearded Dragon is about to lay eggs ( I assume as she is digging; they are unfertilized eggs and this would probably be her second time around ) and I don't have access to vermiculite, unless I buy it online which could last up to a week. Are there any substitutes I could use?Regular potting soil for example, or playground sand? (just some random examples that came off the top of my head, anything else would be VERY HIGHLY APPRECIATED) Thanks!
I agree with mw. One thing to keep in mind is peat moss will make the soil very acid. If the soil already has a high pH, this is a good thing. Check out pH soil on the net.
Q: Does anyone know where I can buy Vermiculite for gardening other than online?
NEVER disturb the vermiculite. You must assume that it contains asbestos until it is proven that it does not. There is really no need to remove it, cover it with cellulose insulation to achieve the desired R value
