Q: Can I put Eco earth for the substrate of the eggs
I kinda sounds like Quartzite
Q: Ok, Last night my leopard gecko egg finally hatched but now what do I do. I have a small kritter keeper lined with paper towels and I put the container that the egg hatched in, in the kritter keeper as a moist hide (it has vermiculite in it). When should I attempt to feed it? And If anyone can go into detail with their answers that will be great, including websites that can help.
I suggest checking out the thread on this forum, there are countless DIY options available for rack systems. ball-pythons /forums/forumdisp...
Q: i have leopard geckos but the male is barely 7 months old and weighs only 25 grams and i did not think he could breed my female then i had a suspition that he did because she was digging every where well i thought i had at least a week before she laid and to my suprise there was an egg in there this morning. right now i got it in a container with a layer of cottton then a layer of orchid bark on top. i was not supecting this and dont have the money to buy vermiculite. can i use some miracle grow potting soil?
Ithink that no.
Q: There's six soil additives I can choose: muck soil, pine sawdust, vermiculite, perlite, sphagnum moss, and biochar (from baggase).A. Which type of soil additive will hold the most moisture and prevent water loss.B Which soil additive will create the least nutrient runoff?
i dont have a clue but i think it might be 2 pints against 1pint etc. but with your measurments couldne be bothered to read whole question
Q: It would be fine to use very very dried plantation soil for my bearded dragon right? I figure there wouldnt be a problem. I dont use a water dish for him cause he's usually well hydrated and he never would drink from it or go in it. he's well hydrated cause I give him a bath once a week and there's lettuce in his diet (not just lettuce so i dont want those people who are all like quot; oh just lettuce isent good enough blahh blahh blahhquot; I already know..) but ya since theres no water in a dish to spill in the soil to cause high humidity, I figure the very dried out exo terra coconut husk plantation soil wouldnt be a bad idea? any one doing this ? comments please ( just kinda sick of the sand look )
1:1 peat and vermiculite (or perlite, but I prefer vermiculite) is just fine a seed started mix. Sterilizing is good, but not entirely necessary...it ceases to be sterile the moment you expose it open air.
Q: Could someone answer my question on ball python breeding?
If you go on Strictly Reptiles, you'll see some really cool morphs to give you ideas. I like the spider pied balls. Make sure they're sexed so you make sure you get a pair. they're easy to breed they'll decide when they're going breed lay eggs. You'll be doing the incubating. Youtube shows a guy opening his eggs seeing what variety he got out of the clutch. Hope I was some help.
Q: What is Vermiculite called in Denmark?
Put okorder
Q: Besides spores obviously.More along the lines of soil composition, climate and how exactly to plant them.
It would depend upon the type of mushroom. Some require hardwood, some grow on straw, etc. eg: Agaricus - generally require composted straw/dung. Shittake - requires hardwood Oyster mushrooms - will generally grow on paper or cardboard or straw Psilocybe mushrooms - mostly grow on straw / dung, or man made substrates (eg corn flour and vermiculite) - although there are some wood loving members of the family Morel mushrooms - require a certain ratio of carbon - usually as burnt wood - which is why they often spring up after fires and floods. Truffles - require a certain blend of minerals in the soil along with symbiosis with certain trees. all require moisture some do very well with high levels of co2, some don't - so some will do well without much ventilation, others will fail. Some require light to fruit, others dont. Some fruit depending upon CO2 concentrations, some fruit mainly due to drops in temperature. Asking what fungi like is like asking what animals eat or how to make plants grow, it's the third major group - it really does depend on the fungus. If you're growing from scratch, and outdoors, you're best germinating the spores to porduce spawn first, then using this to innoculate the growing medium - then cover with plastic until the medium has been grown through.
Q: Hi there,My iguana laid a batch of 20 eggs at 2am this morning. I just want to double check at what temperature I should incubate them and for what period of time. Please help. as much answers as possible. Thanking you in advance.
they should incubate at 84-87F for around 90 days use 50/50 mix of vermiculite and water to make a incubation medium. If your female has not been mated in the past month or so the eggs are not fertile and should be thrown out. A female iggy will lay eggs yearly even with no male around signs of fertile eggs. Oval shape, Large, firm to touch, dry feeling. if they get soft, dents, mold they are infertile
Q: I plan to plant it in clay soil. I hear they don't like clay soil as they prefer well drained soil. How can i improve the soil so i can plant it in as soon as possible?
