Q: My female leopard gecko just layed 2 eggs and i dont want to use the wrong bedding for them when they hatch. What kind is the best???
Never sand! Man I wish people would not jive out dangerous information. Leos tend to lunge at their food and usually gather up substrate in the process. I used to use sand till one of my leos long ago got impacted and I had to spend a lot of time and money getter him better. So I switched to and indoor/outdoor carpet. They sell it at menards and other stores, it is really cheap and easily rinsed clean and with leos being so clean and potty traines as it is I usually only have to vaccuum up the doodie in the corner of the cage, after I took the leo out of course. This is very sanitary and I never have problems anymore and it seems my leos love the switch, it makes it easier to catch and consume prey. As for the eggs, you will want to place them on top of moist vermiculite, that is the best stuff. Be sure to keep them warm and the vermiculite moist, never wet.
Q: There are a total of six eggs in my clutch, and we're reaching about the 70-day mark in incubation.
lol. no thats fine it just means the baby inside is hatching good luck i would expect to see itty bitty dragons within a 24 hr basis but sometimes it can take up to two days, getting out of an egg can be very hard but dont help them im sure you already know im incubating 18 eggs right now all looking just fine been two days now. good luck on your babies and make sure they get proper lighting, food, and remember dont take them out of the incubator for atleast 24 hrs after they come out of the egg 45 hrs is better and dont worry if they dont eat. when they are born they have a yolksac on them that they feed from and once they are done with it the yolk will just dry up and fall off. just remember dont help them with the process of getting out of the egg or taking the yolk sac off . it will cause serious pain and can and in most cases will kill I Wish You the best of luck :)
Q: Is vermiculite bad if eaten by infants?
Potting soil typically has more nutrients and is mixed with peat in it for the roots to grow deep and strong in. It s thicker and helps retain moisture in a hanging pot for example. It also costs more. Top soil is obviously used to fertilize either a planter bed or lawn to give the plants/lawn roots food/nutrients to grow and prosper.
Q: How do I identify the grainy, black insulation in my attic?
As long as there's somewhere that she deems suitable to lay her eggs, it'll be fine. 3 eggs is really not many though for a Beardie. She may well be postponing laying her eggs, which could lead her to becoming egg bound which isn't good and requires a trip to the vet. Maybe do some research and see what other people for their Beardies to lay eggs.
Q: It is non-metallic, contains iron and magnesium, when heated it swells and expands into light worm-like pieces of vermiculite which is used as a medium for planting seeds. Thanks!
I have a friend of mine just grows them inbetween paper towels, every layer is more seeds, when he wants them or they are ready he pulls out a wad of damp paper towels from this plastic container scoops out his micros, throws more seed in those paper towels or new ones and into another tray it goes with a spritz of hydrogen peroxide, he never seems to be out and they are fresh and clean.
Q: If so why, because I just did now I'm wondering...
Perlite and vermiculite do not affect nutrition or pH in any way. They are just here to aerate the roots, and helps them absorb nutrients better. So it shouldn't be a problem at all.
Q: I‘m trying to grow Venus Fly traps from seeds, I have them in indirect sunlight through the window, I lightly spray them every other day with distilled water. They‘re potted in a styrophome cup that has non-enriched peat moss mixed with Vermiculite. I even talk to them, lol. Why haven‘t any plants sprouted?
There are some suggestions for your plants: Keep your flytrap in its cage at all times. Just make sure the soil stays moist (dark brown) at all times. Your plant will need to be spray-misted or watered between once to three times a week. Place your pet in a good windowsill where it can get strong natural light for at least half the day. Your flytrap loves to eat to give the plant nitrogen and other compounds that will help your plant grow. Your flytrap will need a few months in the winter to hibernate. During this time, many of the leaves may die, and those that do live and grow will lie flat against the ground with short leaves. Typical dormancy period is from November until February. During this time, your flytrap will still need light, but for a shorter time during the day. If you ensure the above guidelines I hope your plants will stay healthy and growing.
Q: I‘ve prepared a plastic container with a couple of holes. Can I use potting soil instead of vermiculite? will the eggs be lack of oxygen if i close the lid?
Potting soil is fine. Just remember that red eared slider eggs must stay face up. Hard to explain but do not move it's placement. For example, Keep the side of the eggs that was facing up, actually facing up. So if you put a dot on top of the egg and move the egg to your potting soil, make sure that dot is facing up.
Q: I have baby Palm Tree‘s that have been plucked from under a full grown one. They are between 5 - 9 inches. I have tryed potting them leaving them in water, but they always seem to die. Any body know how I can care for them ? ( California Palm Tree‘s) Thanx.
actually pot them in soil, sturdy potting soil. basically make certain you're turning out to be a adequate volume of dirt alongside with the palm's roots once you dig them up. do no longer overwater and don't fertilize and that i'd think of that they might transplant. it extremely is advisable to maintain them in undemanding shade for some weeks. Direct sunlight ought to tension them till now each and everything.
Q: Hi guys my corn snake is knocked up and im flapping on what to use as an incubator for the eggs im not working at mo so i cant go and but one of those expensive things even tho id love to :( but hey ho so can you guys give me some ideas please also im guna use VERMICULITE but all where ive looked it dont tell you how much water to add i KNOW it has to be 100% humidity but again can i av some advice thanks guys
