 Exfoliated expanded vermiculite introduction :

Vermiculite is a layer-structured metamorphic rock of gibbsite silicate. Rich in magnesium, it comes from hot-liquid-eroded or weathered phlogopite. When it is heated to lose water and expands, lt turns curvingas a leech. Therefore is called vermiculite.lt can be divide into original vermiculite and expanded vermiculite. color it can also be divided into golden vermiculite and white vermiculite.

Exfoliated expanded vermiculite physical and chemical quota :

Being differently hydrated and oxidation, the same vermiculite may have different chemical compositions .Generally, its chemical compositions are as follows:

Vermiculite Chemical quota: Mg x (H2O)(Mg3-x)(ALSiO3O10)(OH2)

Q: what does vermiculite do with peat moss? is it better than coco peat? and what is peat moss? thanks for answering thoroughly
Go for Peat, or Vermiculite instead. Many of the professional keepers swear by Peat as a substrate, however although peat hold moisture quite well, the following are common problems: Mould, mites, fungus and other unwanted growths. To counter this the substrate should be microwaved (only when it's dry, otherwise their is a possible fire risk!) This will kill any mould or fungus spores, and anything else, such as mites. Vermiculite doesn't tend to encourage mould, fungus or mites. Though some tarantulas, especially arboreal species don't like it as it tends to stick to their feet. You can wet the coconut fibre a little more to encourage burrowing. I use a product called Bed-A-Beast. This product comes in a 4 X 8 X 2 block and when placed in water it yields about 8 litres of bedding. One block fills my five - 10x24 tanks and a dozen small containers for spiderlings.
Q: i spent all spring and summer travelling this year so my garden is feeling rather neglected and lonely. there are some veggies i know can stand cold temps and still make it. i live in north central texas so freezing temps wont be an issue for a few weeks yet. is there any time to get something in the ground? like what?
Not really. It takes at least a month for radishes, which is about the fastest crop. Just start working the soil by adding organic compounds, and if needed vermiculite, etc.
Q: There are a total of six eggs in my clutch, and we're reaching about the 70-day mark in incubation.
lol. no thats fine it just means the baby inside is hatching good luck i would expect to see itty bitty dragons within a 24 hr basis but sometimes it can take up to two days, getting out of an egg can be very hard but dont help them im sure you already know im incubating 18 eggs right now all looking just fine been two days now. good luck on your babies and make sure they get proper lighting, food, and remember dont take them out of the incubator for atleast 24 hrs after they come out of the egg 45 hrs is better and dont worry if they dont eat. when they are born they have a yolksac on them that they feed from and once they are done with it the yolk will just dry up and fall off. just remember dont help them with the process of getting out of the egg or taking the yolk sac off . it will cause serious pain and can and in most cases will kill I Wish You the best of luck :)
Q: if i dont have vermiculite what can i use to hatch leopord gecko eggs

Q: I have read a Ron about the incubating process and I‘ve never seen anyone do what am about to ask about, so I understand if it‘s just a plain bad idea. Okay here goes: can I have an open top styrophone container with a heat lamp hub above it? I would adjust the distance of the lamp to get the right temp. The eggs could either be sitting on the right substrate and just have an open top. Or would it be better for the eggs to have a lid, in that cad though the eggs would end up getting water drops from the humidity. Thanks for helpful answers. Even though this seems like a very unexpirenced question, I would like you to know I‘m not a beginner with reptiles at all. Just with DIY incubators.
stock 07 softail classic, got 10k from the back Dunlop. Fellow rider recommended Metzler for replacement. have 6k on and looking really good, found it to be a better handling tire. Suggest Mezler for your Sporty. Got mine at Wheelworks in Garden Grove, CA. Cycle Gear another source.
Q: I‘ve got about 1,000 Lady Slipper Orchid seeds, and I wanted to plant a few. How would I go about planting it from seed? As for the special orchid mix soil stuff, are there any homemade substitutes for this mix? I know bark and broken bricks work well, but do I mix only that? Can anyone help with all of these questions?
experiment I think is the answer. I think put a few seeds on the surface of a good compost and cover with vermiculite or even just place a glass cover over and a sheet of paper to keep the light out. Think how they might grow in the wild and try to produce the same environment (temperature and humidity) that usually works with most seeds. Orchids tend to need very little moisture and grow on the most inhospitable positions. If I'm not mistaken the Slipper Orchid tend to grow on on rotten tree branches in the wild and like a mist spray every few hours rather than watering as normal plants. Good luck and hope this helps
Q: I'm in possession of Japanese mini cakes/pastries that are filled with some kind of seed/bean paste.The clear plastic wrapper has a smaller white packet affixed to the inside, and once I open the outer wrapper, this white packet immediately begins heating itself.It doesn't get too hot, just a few degrees above body temperature, I'd say.Does anyone know what this is, what activates it, and what its purpose might be?The writing on the wrapper is all Japanese except for the words quot;Seiyo Kyujitsuquot; and quot;Hakata Torimon.quot;
Yeah, I don't do an exact ratio... I add enough so that it's not sopping wet. You'll be able to tell. It'll be moist enough so that it's not falling out of your hand, but it won't be dripping. Unless you have a good digital scale, you won't be able to do the ratio as it's by weight, not by volume. Generally this ratio is about 1:1 up to 1:4 of vermiculite to water. I prefer to make it less wet and add some if needed.
Q: ya kno those little white bits...i always thought it was foam but im not sureee
Perlite is often added to seed or cuttings compost to improve drainage. It has no nutritional value in itself, so it needs to be mixed with more nutritious seed or cuttings compost, or supplemented by a liquid feed if you're using it by itself for cuttings or seeds.
Q: I‘m going to be installing attic insulation. I haven‘t decided on fiberglass or cellulose. I know I‘m supposed to use something fire resistant like vermiculite around the chimney flue. Do I need to take the same steps around electrical junction boxes and lighting fixtures in the ceiling?
Use Roxul Insulation. It is a noncombustible mineral wool insulation. It is approved for continuous use at 1200?F and melts at 2150?F and never catches fire. Other bonuses to Roxul are it is water repellent, does not sustain the growth of mold or mildew and will not lose R-value. This product has been in use since the 30's in Europe and is a proven product.
Q: Let's say I didn't have any soil. What could I use instead to grow a plant? Other than water. Like could I just place a seed in a banana peel or something? I would prefer it didn't stink either.
You do not want to go anywhere near the vermiculite - it IS asbestos. If you think it is - have it tested. You can put unfaced batts over the old blown in fiberglass dont use faced - the insulation has to breath or it will sweat and develop mold. Check out the blown in stuff it comes in bales at Lowes - its much faster to install and Lowes has the machine.
