Q: what should the water/vermiculite ratio be in the laying box?example: 3 parts vermiculite to 1 part waterand what should it be for the incubator?thanks
I'm not sure what went wrong here, but obviously you should start over. Slime indicates rotting from too much water. I always root my African Violet cuttings in African Violet soil. You can get it at Canadian Tire or Walmart. Sometimes I use rooting hormones and other times I have not. It doesn't seem to make much difference. It takes anywhere from 2 to 4 months to propagate them this way. I keep them in a window under a plastic cover until I see new growth. Just take the cover off once a day for an hour and then replace it to keep in heat and moisture.
Q: ive been trying to find these two items but i cant seem to find them anywhere locally. i live in a decent sized town of like roughly 50,000 people so i have plenty of stores but i checked almost all of them Menard's, Wal-mart, IGA, K-Mart, Rual King, and im going to our local Equity and Ace hardware tomorrow....
Hello first off its never recomended that you don't hold any trarantula for yours and there safty as they can still bite if startled and fall as they can jump and even though a bite won't kill you you can have a nasty alergic reaction to th venom. However if you do want to handle your tarantula herar are som good tips. 1- use a soft paint brush to coax your tarantula out of the enclosure never put you hand inside have you hand laying flat and move the tarantula onto your hand. 2- if the tarantula goes into the threat posture leave it alone. 3- If it acts agitated moves away or strikes leave it alone. 4 - You can have him out as long as you want there isnt a time guide however i would at first keep it to 10-15mins 2x a week just to allow your self and the tarantula to get used to being handled and build up your confidence. 5- keep your tarantla low down in case it jumps or falls this will reduce the risk of injury. 6- If it runs see where it has gone use the paint brush to move it out if it turns defensive use a half cut bottle (large coke bottle) and move him into the bottle and put him back into the enclosure. 7- if he escapes use a heat sorce he should go to it as they go to warm spots. Mine escaped once and we couldent find him i put he microwave on to cook some food and when i went back he was sat on top of the microwave. The tarantula will rear up on to its back legs if its going into a defence mode and will strike. When it molts a good sign is boldness on the abdomen it will go its food and may become agitated and hide away. It will flip onto its back so don't touch it its not dead. make sure there is no food inside the enclosure the moltng can take up to 48hrs make sure you do not feed it up to a week to allow the new body to harden. If you need any more info please ask me i have lots of experience.
Q: I recently bought a dozen Robellini Phoenix Palm Tree seeds and I was curious if anyone had any tips or advice on growing them :). I was told by the company to presoak the seeds(which is being done right now). I plan on only planting them 1/2 in. deep as instructed but i‘m uncertain how much sun light I should give them once they begin growing or how much water (ect.). Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
It may help to use a seed heating mat, and once they root use a fair amount of vermiculite, which will aid in prevention of root rot. They can take a fair amount of light, but do not allow the soil to dry out completely. This palm is indigenous to wet areas, like in the river plains in Southeast Asia-they multi-trunk to withstand flooding. Outside, they do not like freezes, and thrive in areas that have lows above 38 degrees F. The hybridized version can be single trunk, but the true Pygmy is a multi-trunk species. Good luck!
Q: I have a kitten and he was peeing in my rubber plant. I have quot;flushedquot; it out and put all new dirt in the pot, but it's still quot;droopyquot; and the leaves keep falling off. HELP!!!
You can germinate apple or most any kind of seed, that doesn't have a hard nut such as a plum, in wet paper towels.
Q: What are the characteristics of vermiculite on flowers?
No, vermiculite can keep warm and moisturize, but vermiculite doesn't have the nutrients needed by plants, so you need to add fertilizer occasionally
Q: I got a burmese python a while ago with no intention to breed it, little did i know, she was pregnant! The eggs have been laid, I‘ll keep them and try selling them, now what do i do?
Try to keep her in a highly humidified enclosure (90-100%) with damp vermiculite on the floor. Keep the temperature at about 85 degrees F. She will coil around the eggs and maintain the right temperature by twitching occasionally. I have had considerable experience with this and have produced a total 96 baby pythons from 4 separate clutches.
Q: What is the difference between perlite and vermiculite and orchid stone?
Perlite brittle particles are commonly used substrates, vermiculite breathable water storage, orchid stone do not understand
Q: ok update i have a pet green snake it laid two eggsone was flat,,so i put one in some rabbit fur i had in a small bowl with a lid and put oles in it and sprtits it with a little warm watteri put it in the warmest room in the housebut how do i know if the egg is fertile or noti found the snake so i wouldn‘t if it had a companionPLZ help and ty
You should never squirt a snake egg with water and you need a proper incubator set to the right temperature and humidity for it to hatch. its never going to hatch now you've killed it!!! You shouldn't keep wild snakes as pets either, green snakes are notoriously hard to keep you're only going to end up killing it. you should let it go.
Q: (Acer planoides) I purchased these seeds at a market, the instructions on the packet say this.Place the seeds in a ziplock bag with a little damp not wet vermiculite and place in the fridge for 90120 days. inspect regularly and if seeds start to germinate remove and sow. plant the seeds 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep in good quality compost and keep moisture around 60 to 70 F.90 to 120 days? Its going to take at least 3 months for these seeds to germinate? And why does the months of cold air in a wet environment make these seeds germinate (that just sounds like it would cause hibernation/preservation)?
lol what a ****** retard, you cant even plant a seed lol
