- Q:They take a long time to germinate usually (months at times). So I was wondering if there was a way to make the seeds germ fast. Please give a detailed explanation. Thanks!
- soak the seed in water for about 2 days. place them in a small plastic bag filled with a plant medium like : vermiculite-perlite - or the jiffy mix for seed found in stores and moisten enough that germination can take place. place the bag on top of your hot water heater or even a refrigerator and you should see some germination in a few short weeks. Dont let the mositure fry out and dont put too much in it either. **************************************. for hard to germinate seed , take an old coleman (or other brand) ice chest , cut a hole in the lid. place a drop cord with light bulb down it , add soil and seed and moisture that will make them pop.
- Q:can i use soil as a medium because havent got any vercumilite for bearded dragon eggs?
- That is not really a good idea since soil contains bacteria, larval forms of some insects and does not hold the temperature or the moisture content correctly. The best suited product for the hatching of eggs is vermiculite and the second best is sand, the breeders will tell you that. The next thing you could be doing is placing them in an incubator, commonly used for hatching chicken eggs the incubator will do fine for bearded dragon eggs, just make sure you get one with a temperature setting. In case you need to make the temp warmer or cooler. You can get an incubator at a tractor supply store, Co-Op or a farm supply store that sells grains and animal feed. Any store that sells farming supplies would have them or a place that sells live farm animals like chickens or ducks would have them as well. You can even order them online.
- Q:I found some dirt that had pieces of really shiny black pieces, which looked like obsidian, some pieces that looked like gold, (which I doubt they were), and weird pieces that were somewhat greenish. The rest looked kind of sandy to me, and it was very soft, just like sand. Do you have any idea what this could be? I find it kind of odd that I found this in Virginia, where the dirt is red clay...
- Vermiculite is an Excellent Insulation , and has been used many times when a closed fire is installed.
- Q:I‘m doing a PJAS project and I really need help so I can have more informations of the root‘s daily growth. Thank you for those who help me! lt;3lt;3lt;3
- I would suggest soiless hydroponics. Or grow in semi-transparent agar. However, If you absolutely have to use Soil. or vermiculite etc. Is just Viewing some of the roots sufficient. If its observation only, Can grow in a transparent container, glass or plastic. But do you need to measure their lengths or weigh them? If you do not wish to remove the soil and re-pot, thinking it might have an effect, another variable to worry about. If you are able to grow hundreds of plants. You can sacrafice 10 daily. Dump out their soil, rinse off, blot dry, measure, cut off root and weigh etc. Discard these when done. Do the same on 10 more the next day. Generate statistics from all this data. You should be able to make accurate conclusions.
- Q:Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, herbs, medicinal plants, etc.? Also, small trees in a small flower pot? Thanks.
- killing. weapons. it is also the most stable element in existence. nothing in the universe is less radioactive. the irony is that after you split a uranium atom it forms 2 other radioactive atoms (nuclear waste) and if they bothered to take the money to split those 2 AGAIN you would get iron. costs to much for them though
- Q:Hi there,My iguana laid a batch of 20 eggs at 2am this morning. I just want to double check at what temperature I should incubate them and for what period of time. Please help. as much answers as possible. Thanking you in advance.
- PLEASE don't incubate them. Just discard them all. There are far too many unwanted and abandoned igs stuck in rescues, without much hope of finding a new home, without adding to the problem by producing more babies that few people want (and those that do rarely care for them properly or understand the space, time and financial commitment involved in caring for them past their first couple of years.)
- Q:How to apply the quota of cement and vermiculite insulation layer?
- Cement and expanded vermiculite, cement should be no less than 325, usually choose 425 ordinary Portland cement. The volume ratio of cement and expanded vermiculite is generally 1:5, which is economical and reasonable. Cement and sand aspect than the general 1:1. Site inspection method: mix the cement paste with fine powder and knead it by hand.
- Q:does anybody know of a good subtrate for the pink buffalo mushroom spores? this is my first time trying this strain and i dont know much about it and was wondering if anybody has some info on it that would help me.....i would just like to know what subtrates are best for this strain. the only thing i dont really know about this strain is what kind of subtrate it grows best in and how great the flushes are.......i was thinking a mix of vermiculite, rye seed or grass seed, water.any ideas? i choose best answer

- Q:What are the characteristics of vermiculite on flowers?
- The chemical formula of vermiculite is (Mg, Ca) 0.7 (Mg, Fe, Al), 6.0[(Al, Si), 8.0] (OH4.8H2O). Monoclinic system, usually in flakes. Brown, brown or tan. Grease gloss. Hardness 1~1.5. Density 2.4~2.7g/cm3, vermiculite calcined at 800~1000 DEG C, the volume of rapid expansion, increasing 6~15 times, high up to 30 times. The average density of vermiculite after expansion is 100~200Kg/m3, because the vermiculite which has been roasted and expanded has fine air barrier, so it has good insulation performance.
