Q: Why is it that Serum Iron levels drop later in the day? Why does blood testing for Serum Iron levels need to be performed early in the morning?
Iron levels vary throughout the day but the reason that they usually test in the morning is because food that you eat can alter the levels so they take it before you have had any food to eat. You should not take any iron pills or tablets for 24 hours before the test. Iron is absorbed rapidly from food or pills and can make your iron levels falsely high.
Q: I'm supposed to be taking iron tablets for an iron deficiency, but the only ones I have are expired. I'm away at college and wont be back home to get more for another 2 more weeks. I feel really weak right now, just really drained, and I just want to sleep all the time, which I have been doing a lot of. I was wondering what foods I could eat to help boost my iron intake, at least until I get back home. I've been trying to drink orange juice, I don't know if that helps though.Thankyou everyone.
the best source of iron is lean red meat it can also be found in chicken, turkey eggs and many cereals There are two forms of dietary iron - heme and non-heme. Heme iron is derived from hemoglobin, the protein in red blood cells that delivers oxygen to cells and non-heme iron is from plant foods. Good dietary sources of iron are: Heme - red meat - liver and other organ meats - fish - poultry Non-heme - lentils - dried beans/peas - flours - cereals - grains
Q: My daughter is going on two and is in tip top health, I was giving her the poly-visol multivitamin drops w/ot iron. I like the drops because she likes it and I know shes swallowing it unlike the chewable vitamins and what not‘s. I was in CVS one day and noticed they had the multivitamin drops w/iron, I quickly purchased it, being were I shop never has the poly-visonw/iron. Well today while I was brushing her teeth I noticed her top teeth and bottom were a hue of grey. Never a problem before. I want her to get her iron but dont want her teeth to pay for extra supplement. Will it go away, I dont know what to do or how to go about it. I will talk to her doctor but need answers asap. She is healthy, all her shots, no problems during pregnancy or birth
Iron can stain the teeth. We usually recommend liquid iron through a straw. I would stop the drops at this point. If she is eating a balanced diet she doesn't need the extra iron. Its constipating also. They can check her level at her 2 year old check up.
Q: im 13 weeks pregnant and have been feeling very run down and weak and it happens to suddenly i spoke to my doctor gave me 200MG FERROUS SULPHATE iron tablets but they have a risk of harming the baby. is there any other pre natal vitamins with iron i can take? and where can i find them?
Taking prenatals with iron is a great choice. I took One A Day Prenatals that had iron but unfortunately, the iron was making me nauseas and contipated. Many women tolerate iron well though. I would
Q: ok you drive off then you eathier hit a wood or iron .but what is the diff between irons ?? what iron hit what distance??
That really depends on how far you hit each particular iron. Generally speaking, the higher the number of the iron, the less distance it will travel due to the higher loft of the club. For example, a 9-iron will travel significantly less than a 5-iron, if you hit them both well. The distance depends on your particular ability. Pros can easily hit a 9-iron 145-150 yards, and 5-irons for them can carry well over 200 yards. You need to get on a range and hit shots over and over to determine how far your shots carry, then apply that to your game, taking into account the elements such as wind, uphill and downhill shots, fairway and rough lies, etc. Club selection is usually a big problem for armatures, who usually think they can hit irons further than they actually can. Also you should know that lower lofted, or long irons (3,4 5-irons) are more difficult to get airborne and hit consistently well. You may want to determine which club you can hit consistent and stick with that when you can.
Q: My niece decided to flat iron her barbie‘s hair and when i came home it was stuck on the iron, how do i get it off ?
secret african-americans have been using for years. while the flat iron is on put relaxer(perm) on it and let it sit for alit bit.then wipe off w/ a damp cloth. and viola well hope this helps.
Q: tell me in terms of reduction potential of zinc and reduction potential of iron
Corrosion of iron involves oxidation of iron to ferrous ions. Since zinc is above iron in electrochemical series (read reactivity) hence coating of iron with zinc (known as Galvanizing) protects iron as now it is the zinc that is oxidized in place of iron. The process is know as Galvanization
Q: Mortorhead in my opinion is better.but i do like Iron Maiden!
i'm with Metal Cult on this. i saw Motorhead, Dio, and Maiden a few years ago and i love all those bands. i dig the grittiness and hard living sound of Motorhead but Iron Maiden just affects me more. i gotta UP THE IRONS!!
