It appears to be possibly a valve for a radial aircraft engine as it looks very similar to ones i've seen used in Pratt+Whitney R3350's etc. It looks like it could probably date to the 1940's up thru the 1950's. Look for a Part Number stamped on the valve or on the box. After WW2 there were all kinds of manufacturers making parts for airplanes. Many were gobbled up by competitors, converted to manufacturing other products or went out of business altogether. Q: oil coming from valve into turbo charger: Diesels do not have pcv valves. Pcv valve are on gas engines only.

Q: My bike has now 6200 miles on the odometer. The manual says that a valve adjustment should be performed every 6000 miles. But the bike runs fine. Can I just have the valve checked or should I have them adjusted even though the bike is fine? What will happen if I just keep riding it?: if the valves are not chattering (WOrse then normal) and you havent lost power or gas milage, then no...dont get it adjusted and no ... your not hurting the bike.

Q: i just finished installing a sprinkler line for my lawn and i used anti siphon valves and 4quot; sprinkler heads. it says in the manual that it has to be at least 6quot; from the highest sprinkler. i think i made a mistake. i installed it 7quot; from the highest 'sprinkler line' . will i have a problem with that regarding the operation of the anti siphon valves and the sprinkler system itself?: as you stated, you said the directions said at least 6 from the highest sprinkler 7 will be ok as well as 20. i don't know what region you are in, but if you are in a freeze zone though it is always a good idea to blow the lines when winter comes around.

Q: Hey YA! I am looking at getting an 01 Honda Prelude this month and valve adjustment keeps coming up when people discuss this car and other cars as well. What is this? Does it cost a lot to do, and is it important? Thank you!: An import shop can probably do this in two hours and cost should be in the general range of $200-300 I'd estimate. There is a camshaft that acts on the valves, and there is a predetermined amount of play or slop in the system that is within specs. As the valve seat wears, the valve gets pulled further into the head, and this lessens the play as it wears. If it gets too tight and fails to have any play, the valve won't be held tight against the seal and it will leak, lose power and possibly burn the valve. So yea, get it set. Also may want to factor in timing belt cost and ask about that and water pump as those aer replaced together.
