- Wow. It sounds as though you have lost your neutral and have what is called multiwire circuits in your house. Basically what is happening is you have 120 Volts on both the hot and the neutral/ground of your house. If you most of your equipment isn't working, you really have an issue you need to get looked at. Obviously I'm not standing in your house with a volt meter in my hand so I'm taking your word that the neutral and ground have volts, not current, on them. But if what you say is true then this is the most likely scenario. I strongly recommend you get a professional there quickly.
- Q: Ever since I was a little kid I could tell when there is a T.V on in a house when I walk by. I get this feeling inside like I can sense the signal or something with my brain. When I walk closer to the T.V the feeling gets stronger. If there is a T.V left on in my house with no sound or picture playing, I am still able to sense that the T.V was left on, and pinpoint the exact room its in without even going inside. - If this is a yes or no question the answer is no. As a matter of fact I think you may be pulling our leg a little dab. Even if you can tell if the TV is on I`ll bet you can not tell what channel it`s on without looking or listening. Now how`s that grab you smarty pants? PS I`ll bet you can`t even walk on water.

- Q: I just replaced a light fixture in an apartment complex.I discovered that the bonehead that did the install did not run an equiptment ground when he installed the entire circuit that the light is ran off of (dumb a**!!!!!!!!)Does anyone know if it would be up to code if I where to just drive an 8 ft. ground rod and ground the fixture/entire circuit off of the rod?I have looked everywhere.Cannot find anything in code books.If someone knows where this is in NEC, please include the location.Anybody have any input?
- John I don't know where you are located but there are still some locations where a specific equipment ground wire is not required if BX cable is used. The metallic cable is the ground. There are locations that only only partially adopt the national electrical code. Judging from your search of the NEC it does not sound like you are simply looking for a place to put the ground wire on your lamp. And how old is it? Does it predate the adoption of the NEC in your area? Now if you are saying that you are looking at a non metallic box and you do not have a ground that is another story. Again if you are saying that you tested the circuit and found that a metallic box is not grounded that also might be a different story. Driving a ground rod for a light seems rather extreme. It seems as if there is a bit of information here that is missing. You have some sites below that might help. Do be careful as someone once told me that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

- Electrical circuits in domestic homes normally have two types of circuits. One for the lighting and another for the power supply. You are not supposed to use the lighting circuit for power supply. If you do you may be in contradiction of local wiring rules. As a result if there are any unfortunate events occurring as a consequence you will probably not be covered by insurance. In other words, if you burn your house down from using the lighting circuit for power supply you have no comeback. Having said all this it is unlikely to happen. Lighting circuits have a lower amperage rating and smaller wiring cross section. So therefore they cannot handle too much load, you may find annoying fuse blows or circuit breaker trips. In conclusion, and as an electrician, I recommend you just have a power supply correctly installed. It isn't as expensive as most people think.

If there is a loose connection of a certain electrical wire, or loose pipe connections on your water pipes; The loose pipe connections will produce leaks while the loose electrical connections will produce sparks. 3) It always retain its polarity always. Just like magnets, it retains its polarity, north and south. Electricity is based on magnetism. Law of nature.

- no you shouldn't need a transformer. Funny I had a guy just the other day that bought a tanning bed and it stated it needed 240vac.he wanted me to hook up a outlet in his garage and I wasn't sure because of the specs. I called the manufacturer and they assured me that I could use 220vac from the house. Not sure why they state it this waybut I assume its the same as when they say 100v and 120v just semantics
