FAQ

Q: What's the difference with cyclonic to multi-cyclonic filtration system?

Multi-cyclonic is where the dust container has a plastic filter section inside and has many little tunnels in it that separate the finer dust and dirt for the next filter and there is no HEPA filter in the middle plastic filter section.

Cyclonic filtration is where there is a central HEPA filter that sits inside the dust container and catches the finer dust.

Q: My vacuum just stopped while I was using it! What do I do now?

All of our vacuum cleaners have been fitted with a thermal safety cut-off switch which activates to stop the motor from burning out. When it does that it will prevent the unit from turning on again until it has cooled sufficiently to reset, which is between 2 – 4 hrs. The most common reason for safety cut-off switch activated is the filters needs to be cleaned. Please read the instruction manual and follow the instructions on how to clean the filters.

Q: What is the working principle of a vacuum cleaner?
The internal pressure is much lower than the external pressure, the pressure difference effect, dust and dirt with air into the vacuum cleaner barrel, and then after the dust bag filter, dust in the dust bag, purifying the air can pass through the motor to escape into the room again, the cooling of the motor and the air purifying function
Q: this is for a school project - i can't find the answer anywhere else. please help me
Home vacuum cleaners? Try different brands. Oreck, for instance. Just google their name. In fact, I think they still make their vacuum cleaners in the US. Most other brands probably manufacture in China although their corporate headquarters could be in the US. To find other names, just google something like vacuum cleaners buy You'll get a list of companies. Then google the companies' names to find their headquarters. Or go down to KMart etc. and look for the origin of manufacture on the machines. Look for the word China.
Q: If i reduced considerably the size of the hose of a vacuum cleaner say by 4, is the suction power goin to increase by 4? Since pressure is equal to force/area. im trying to make my vacuum cleaner ultra powerful. thank you.
No it will not increase. The velocity at the nozzle will increase but lifting power will not, it will pick up small objects better but not larger ones. The danger is that most vacuum cleaners rely on the flow of air through the motor to cool it, when you reduce this by restricting the nozzle you may overheat and burn out the motor !
Q: I had to try and use one as a stomach pump one night after some horrible seafood but it didn't work and it was unpleasant. Is there some sort of vacuum stomach pump attachment? I don't want to have this issue again. Help!
Vacuum cleaners have suction that is way too powerful to use on internal organs. Didn't you see the 1000 Ways to Die episode where the idiot used a shop vac to perform his own liposuction and disemboweled himself and bled to death? Same principle. Besides, pumping the stomach would not help with food poisoning, which comes from bacteria or toxins in the food. By the time you use a pump, the bacteria or toxin is in the bloodstream and your vacuuming action is futile.
Q: I have a dog who sheds like no tomorrow and my current vacuum doesn't cut it.
My Dyson is everything to me with four kids and two dogs that shed so much I am shocked they aren't bald. The first time I turned it on, the first thing I noticed was that it didn't shoot dirt and grit out the back like every other vacuum I have ever had. If you have pet hair on furniture though, the best thing to do is grab your textured cleaning gloves and rub in a circular motion. This action balls it up and you just pick it right off.
Q: it annoys me so much, i wish they would make a quiet one
I really do. I have my parents old hoover, my mum goes through about two a year, and this one she's given us because it was too noisy - and it really is! I'm waiting for her new one, it's a shiny red dyson!
Q: Why are vacuums so loud?
Aww, did a vacuum wake you up, Frank? (Did you shoot it?). You'd think that since they can make silencers for smaller 'appliances', like hand guns, ; ) they'd have no problem making them for vacuum cleaners. Many of those industrial types can make an awful lot of noise, but you can get virtually silent ones for use in your homes, planes, yachts, limos etc. Have a servant or agent get a hold of one for you. 'Here's looking at you kid' Let's all do lunch!
Q: I am currently looking for a new vacuum cleaner. The old one I've had is falling apart and its being held together by a shoulder strap and duct tape. I am currently looking for a commercial upright or backpack vacuum cleaner but I'm not sure if they are meant for home use. Can you help me out here?
sure...you may pay a lot more and they are not ultra maneuverable in small spaces. I prefer the dyson for home use though...Strong and sturdy, yet they are affordable.
Q: Were Hoover vacuum cleaners ever sold door to door?
yes,,in the past. I believe Kirby is still sold door to door.
Q: I need your help! I have had over 6 diffrent vacuums. The first one was great but heavy and old. It was a GE but now the old thing has broken down. So I have tried to get the light weight ones, the cordless ones, even ones with all these kits with them, but they are all worthless. Either they break or all too delecate or too big. I NEED ONE THAT IS BAGLESS, HAS GOOD SUCTION, SMALL THAT WILL FIT UNDER BEDS AND TABLES, GOOD WITH CAT HAIRS AND MAYBE INCLUDE A HOSE TOO. Please help. Give me a store name and a URL of the vacuum. Thanks.
Bagless vacums do not work. I have this thing about dirt myself. I use the Kenmore Pogressive / True Hepa. It is a canister vacum which at first I was not crazy about but after getting used to pulling it around I love it. The suction is great. I vacum my whole house with it once a week. I was surprised to see how much I really get out of my house when I change the bag. My house does not even get as dusty as it would if I swept the floor. I have had bagless before and this vacum for $350.00 is great!!!! Now there are the one's that cost $1500 to $1800 or more that work but you still need to clean out the parts to keep it working properly. Bagless vacums have filters too that wind up leaking. If you have the room wet-vacs are probably the best vacum on the planet. But everything needs to be cleaned in order to work properly and last. I like my Kenmore because I can throw the bag away and I rinse out the inside filter a few times to make it last and I get wonderful results with it. I bought it a Sears.
