- Q:My contractor table saw has 2hp motor first starts up caused my lights in my basement to dim and as it running seems like it has some shaking in it, I can feel in the saw table, also the basement light seems to flickering or diming out the whole time when saw is in used. Any idea what is the cause guys. I could use some advice here. By the way this motor is running on 110 volts 60 hertz.
- The lights dim because the saw is pulling too many amps for the circuit it is on. To fix that problem, install a dedicated circuit (20 amp, 12 gage wire) for the saw. The vibration is most often because the base and table of the saw are not heavy enough or the motor is not attached tightly or is mis aligned. This is why good quality contractor saws always have big cast iron tables. This is pretty much the old saying of you get what you pay for. You may be able to reduce vibration if you can figure out a way to attach concrete blocks to the bottom of the table. ( By hanging them from rope wire etc.) Anything to add substantial weight. And check the alignment of the motor and the saw arbor and the motor to the arbor.
- Q:I am looking for good information on how I can ship used machinery to Zimbabwe, which is the best port to go through, Mozambique, maybe Namibia etc. Also what are the restrictions and will I need a shipping agent. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
- Yes, you will need a shipping agent and a tax clearance certificate. You will also need to pay for shipping insurance. Depending on logistics companies, your best ports to ship from are in South Africa(Mozambique may be an option as well) . you will most likely need to make your purchase in dollars as well, so you'll need a bank that can assist you. Even after all this advice, consulting your business lawyer on what other government restrictions there are, will be your best option.
- Q:Are there any specific machinery that anthropologist have to work with?
- I am an anthropologist. For me, the most important equipment I carry is a notebook and a pen.
- Q:Where can my client find brochures for medical supplies manufacturing machinery?
- He would need to know the manufacturer of the machine.
- Q:Where can I post pictures of an antique farm gear box and get replies as to :What is it? It was recently found under an old building. Everything seems to work freely.Ron
- can you identify the manufacturer? McCormick, McCormick Farm-all was one of the earliest manufacturers of farm machinery, you may find flecks or red paint. there should be identifying marks, google the manufacturer, who ever it is. It should work freely; if it is as old as i am thinking it was made of cast iron.
- Q:we already use all kinds of technology. My question to all of you is, How long before the human specie doesn't not have to do anything for themselves? Some form of technology will be there for there assistance?
- Love machinery, hate it when it doesn't work. Since computers began there was this thing called paperless system. I have yet to see a paperless system. Machinery will always need someone to turn it on, maintain it, repair it etc,, Maybe even create more jobs.
- Q:I'll concede that Micro Machines have been proven. We've all seen the commercial with that fast-talking guy, but nobody has ever been able to talk slowly enough to prove Macro Machines to me.
- As a staunch Luddite I believe that machine operators are the tool of SATAN sent here to trick us.
- Q:My husband was hurt on the job 2 days ago, which required emergency medical care and surgery. He came close to losing his entire hand in a meat grinder accident. The grinder was supposed to have a safety mechanism, where if you lifted the lid, the machine would cut off, but it was not working. I am guessing he will be receiving workman's comp. benefits, but is this safety malfunction grounds for a lawsuit? It looks like his hand will never be fully functional. I'm afraid his career as a meat cutter is over. He doesn't have any other trade that he can do and his age is a factor (58). I'm afraid that he will be unable to work sufficiently after this accident.
- I know what your talking about. I lost almost a third of my brain due to no warning on a cough medicine after they changed active ingradients. congress changed the laws for going after the pharmacuetical companies during their last session of congress during clintons last days and bush the bastard signed it into law. No lawsuits against pharmacueticals after three years is the law. Even though i was clinically dead for an hour and lost so much of my brain that i'll never work again. The problem you will face will be finding a lawyer to take your case on contingincy. He gets paid when you win. OSHA should be on it, you'll need them to corroberate that the company screwed up and caused the accident. I'm on disability and it's not enough but with my wife working for a big bank we scoot buy. good luck
