- Well you are not very clear with your question , you need to be clear about what you are trying to do, Did you receive an invoice for the fixed asset or the payment has already been made ? answer would depend on the situation: Although i think the main entry you are after is DR Fixed assets ( machinery) DR VAT paid- (assuming ur subledger doesnt pick up any VAT) CR Trade creditors this would be the main journal, in between these journals you could have as many journals as you want in between. - Yep, it looks like a winch to me too. I see a second drum, so perhaps it was a winch that could pull a cable in two directions, with the cable looped around a pulley at some distant point and being wound onto one of the drums as it is unwound from the other. (hard to see the gearing, etc., from that image). As for age, that electric motor looks like it's about 100 years old! (just a wild guess, of course)

- More modern equipment would improve productivity but I'm not sure if it's the best way. Companies that provide keep fit equipment or even a Wii have found that workers work better as using the equipment during their breaks gives them more 'get up and go'.
