Q:I heard UV light was bad for scorpions is that true?Is that the same thing as Black light
No, a black light is not harmful to a scorpion. What is harmful is not having proper lighting in addition to the black light. I understand it looks really cool under it, so go ahead and have one in addition to it's proper lighting. I would suggest using vet approved care book recommendations for lighting, and make sure you're looking at the correct TYPE of scorpion too, since there are many. If you fail giving your scorpion the proper lighting it needs, you risk serious health problems from permanent crippling to a slow, long, painful death of the poor thing. Please research its needs. btw, you categorized in the wrong section. You may get better luck submitting this again.
Q:how you turn off,the service light(yellow light)
First, do the service (oil change, etc.) then with ignition off, push and hold the odometer reset button. Turn on the ignition (don't crank the engine over) and continue to hold the button. Several dashed lines will appear where the odometer display is normally. hold the button until these disappear. the light will come back on in about 4500 miles when you turn the engine on. It will stay on for a few seconds then turn off. When the light is on all of the time, you have reached the max oil change interval.
Q:My question is if people are quot;doing itquot; by candle light does that count as doing in with the Lights On or Lights off.
Lights on.....the key here is candle light. Just because the electric lights are off doesn't mean there is no light, wasn't candles (or flame of some sort) the only type of light there was before electricity?
Q:I assume you are aware of the different lights known.
Light and its partners can be manipulated in a variety of ways. The most familiar is reflection, in which light is bounced from a surface, the light coming off at the same angle at which it hits, resulting in your undistorted face looking back at you from a mirror. Radiation travels at c only in a vacuum. When it passes into a substance, it slows and can be bent, a common phenomenon called refraction. The effect is easily seen when looking at something through water. Refraction by a curved lens focuses radiation to create an image. Turned to the sky and attached to a detector, the lens becomes an astronomical telescope. (A curved mirror can create a similar image by reflection.) The speed of an electromagnetic wave in a medium depends on its wavelength. Violet light is slowed in a glass of water significantly more than red light. As a result shorter visual waves refract more than do longer ones. Refracted light is therefore dispersed or spread out into its spectrum, creating a rainbow -- or the spectrum of a star. Spectra can also be created by the interference of light waves, the phenomenon that makes the brightly colored patterns seen reflected from a compact audio disc and the halos often observed next to a bright, partly clouded Moon. stars.astro.illinois.edu/sow/spec... Q:how is light used to study spaceTIAHailey
Well... We use the speed of light to calculate how far apart the stars are, and to estimate the size and age of the universe. Speed-of-light calculations are what confirmed that the universe is expanding. And because light takes a certain amount of time to get here, when we look at the stars, we're literally looking back in time, to what the universe was like millions of years ago: The speed of light is particularly important in astronomy.
Q:what are those long fish tank lights called?its for my 152 gallon tank.also is there a pink colored one for the light?
I okorder /
Q:Physics laws for light only apply to light in a vacuum. So is light affected by friction? Light is energy right, not matter?
All these answers assume that lights energy is only related to it's speed, Yes the speed of light in a vacuum is a constant, but it's energy is also affected by its frequency or wavelength. We know that this can be affected by a few thing such as gravitational fields as well as the Doppler effect, but do two beams of light trailing in opposite directions have an effect on each other? Can this cause a red shift, a drop in wavelength, a drop in frequency? If it does in any degree then light in a vacuum is affected by friction. As far as I know this has never been tested.
Q:what other plants don't need light..thanks
Java ferns do require light, it's a low light plant. Java moss does well in low light as well. Here is a list of commonly available plants and their lighting requirements. bit.ly/pdG33
Q:Of Helium, Hydrogen, Mercury, and neon, which would produce a blue light, a peach light, a red light, and a purple??
Neon; it's a gas that is USED in colored neon lamps,
Q:If I leave a light on in a room will they not enter the room?
there's ALOT of way into your room that aren't lit anyay... not to try and sacre you but i bet they've already been in there.. scorpions aren't much of a threat anyway, there's only a few reported stings a year and hardly any are fatal
