- Q: Red and blue light are combined in equal amounts. What color is produced? Cyan light shines on a blue filter. What color is the transmitted beam?
- Green light on a blue surface. It depends on how pure the light and the color of the surface are. A pure green light that is derived from a spectrum can only reflect green from any colored surface. Similarly a pure blue surface where the pigment absorbs all colors except blue can only reflect blue no matter what color light is shone on it. So if you shine a pure spectral green light on a pure blue surface then all the light will be absorbed and no color will be reflected. A more practical case is where you get your green light by shining a white light through a green filter (or painting a light bulb green). This gives you a light containing a bit of all colors but whose blue, yellow and red are reduced. Similarly most blue surfaces reflect all colors to some degree but they reflect blue better than most. If you shine such a light onto such a surface then the light that comes off will be cyan. But it will only look cyan if the overall illumination is white light. If you are in a room lit by a green light bulb then your eye adapts. If you now look at a blue board then, although the light coming off it is cyan, it will look blue to you. If go combine red and blue light you always get magenta. Cyan shining through a blue filter. The same comments apply as for the green/blue case. If you generate cyan from a spectrum and shine it onto a pure blue filter then nothing gets through. However if you use a normal cyan light that contains a mixture of blue, cyan and green then the light coming through a normal filter will be blue. It will have some green and cyan (along with a tiny bit of red and yellow etc) but most of the light will be blue.
- Q: I bought a new light for my beta fish tank that turns out is a night light that is green. Will this harm my fish?
- Well as far as I know your Betta should be fine with that green light. I can't see any way it could harm him or anything. I guess if it makes you feel better though you could always just go get a regular colored light bulb for him later on.
- Q: what is the mass of light ?
- Personally, I don't think black holes make any light in the first place, so it would be a moot point (if I'm right.) Light is an electromagnetic phenomenon. I don't believe there are any electromagnetic interactions going on inside a black hole, so no light is even trying to get out.
- Q: how do prisms bend light? specifically how do thick prisms bend light compared to thin prisms.
- Hey Marie.....light travels in wavelegnths much like the waves of an ocean travelling to the shore. When something interrupts or alters the course of these wavelegnths (such as light travelling through a prism) then these wavelengths (ripples) must do a detour and this is called refraction (not to be confused with reflection). It is the same reason that we sometimes see a rainbow in different mediums. Each waverlegnth of light actually has a corresponding color to it.....hence the rainbow. A Frenchman named Fresnel figured out some fancy mathematical equations to explain all of this and when you see an old lighthouse up close you will see the fresnel lens that it supports. It uses this theory so as to take a small light source indide if it (such as an old whale oil lamp) and then magnify and refract the light into a seemingly brighter appearance. Light can bend (refract) and when it does this then corresponding colors appear due to a change in wavelegnth (it makes a detour) and the intensity of the light may appear greater or smaller.
- Q: is a glow in the dark rubber ball a light source?
- Yes it is! :)
- Q: In photography, what is moon lighting photography? How do I acheive moon lighting photography?
- Mood lighting is how the available light affects a photo. For instance, if you wanted to convey a serious look in a portrait, you would probably want the light to be darker, maybe even on a darker background. Bright dead-on light would make the subject, well, too bright and cheery. If you wanted to photograph the joy in a child's smile, you'd likely use brighter lighting on a brighter background. You can create your own mood lighting by experimenting with levels of light, angles, and even colors. Try angling the light from behind the subject and see what that does. Try having light coming down from above. Try a pitch black room with a single low light source on the subject. Etc etc etc. Just play around and have fun!
- Q: time is constantyou're welcome.
- i've got no longer a goddamn clue what you're speaking approximately. no person has tricked easy to bypass returned in time, nor has anybody conclusively tricked an merchandise to exceed the cost of sunshine. For the checklist, warp velocity isn't an expert velocity. The warp huge variety is merely an determination thank you to grant gadgets to velocity, which replace into made up for technological information fiction memories.
- Q: I have a 2001 Ford Mustang Gt, the brake lights are out, including the third brake light. I looked at the fuses (fuse 4133), they are fine and not broke, I then heard it could be the brake light switch do I replaced that as well. I had my girlfriend hit the brakes while in park and they worked! Then she hit the brakes again and they didn't work :(.. I checked then bought a continuity tester and and the light on the tester lit up on fuse 41 and that fuse 33 did not light up. I replaced fuse 33 with another 15 a fuse and it still does not light up when i test it so it seems that there is no power. Does anyone have any ideas as to why only that one fuse (33) does not work and how I can fix it so I can get my brake lights working again? Thanks
- Replace the brake light switch under the dash.
- Q: can someone help me identify what 1) general light2) task light3) decorative light4) addition/other light.......are???? please give me an example of each one. thank you
- General light is usually a ceiling light. It provides general light to the room. Task lighting is lighting that lights up an area or work surface such as under cabinet lights in a kitchen. Decorative lighting might be in cabinet lighting, wall sconces, or other effect lighting. Additional/other light is a catch all for anything that doesn't fall directly in the previous 3.
- Q: are all cf light bulbs full spectrum?
- Hi. I can't think of ANY type of electric bulb that is. Some have two frequency peaks to simulate sunlight. The CFs I don't think do.
