- Q: What are the disadvantages of food additives?
- Autism, cancer, obesity......
- Q: What can I use in my fuel for my pre-70s engine, now that the lead & substitute lead additives been banned?
- No need for additive. Lead was used to lubricate the exhaust valve seats back in the day, but since the early early 60s they have been putting in hardened valve seats in engines, so you dont need the lead. You also do not need super unless you have some kind of high compression/built motor (10.5:1 compression for example) anyway, theres enough leftover lead residue on your exhaust seats to last the life of the heads anyway.
- Q: i have a 2003 ford ranger edge, it runs good but running better is always great, is there a engine/fuel additive that actually works
- Most of the oil additives are crap. Use a bottle of fuel system cleaner every 3000 miles or so. Aside from that, chane your oil with a high quality synthetic. Royal Purple is good but expensive. It's like 7 bucks a quart, but I swear my engine runs smoother and gets better milage on it. Mobile 1 is good, Penzoil platinum is good, castrol Syntec is good. Other that that just make sure you keep up with regular maintenance.
- Q: I really just want to make my motor last longer, and better MPGWill STABIL help me? or waste of money?Ofcourse i will be using them around every 6 months.
- Stabil won't help you. Your money will be better spent if you use Chevron or Texaco gas, at least, once in a while.
- Q: Thanks :)
- The additive identity is just zero (or if you like 0+0i). This is because (a+bi) + (0+0i) (a+0)+(b+0)i a+bi leaving the original number unchanged.
- Q: My car just came back from the mechanic and he told me to keep an eye on the transmission because sometimes when you set the car to reverse it takes awhile before it kicks in. He said it could be that it is sticking and needs more additives? But then we got distracted and I never got a chance to ask how the heck do I find out? By the way, my car was in for a different problem and I had specifically told him I only had money to fix that so that is why he didnt look further into the transmission thing. So anyway, here are a couple of questions:what is additives and how do i know if i need them?while we‘re at it, how do I check my transmission fluid? (just in case my mechanic didn‘t)if you have any other suggestions as to what this problem might be and how I can fix it, Id love to hear itIf it matters, I drive an 03 Dodge Intrepid that has about 80k.Thanks!
- Call two Dodge dealers' service depts [always get at least a 2nd opinion]and ask abt additives, they prob dont recommend em. Pull the trans dipstick and see if it has stamped on it how to check the fluid, ie, engine at operating temp, in Neutral, on level surface, etc. ask the dealers.
- Q: What are the types of paint additives?
- User's answer more types of additives. Commonly used hardeners, retarders, matting agents and softeners. The additive used to accelerate the hardening and increase the gloss is called the hardener; the slow drying is called the retarder; the matte weaker is called the matting agent; the elasticity for the paint layer is called the softener.
- Q: and give 2 examples for each. pleaz help!
- The additive inverse of the number x (call it x') is defined by x + x' 0, e.g. additive inverse of 4 is -4, additive inverse of -7 is 7. The multiplicative inverse of y (call it y) is defined by y*y 1, e.g. multiplicative inverse of 4 is 1/4, multiplicative inverse of -1/7 is -7.
- Q: B-carotene is a food additive?
- Is a food additive. Β-carotene, but also orange fat-soluble compounds, it is the most common in nature and the most stable natural pigment. It is present in plants in plenty, so that fruits and vegetables have full yellow and orange. Beta-carotene is also used as a colorant for food (eg margarine). At present in China to allow the use of synthetic pigments are amaranth, carmine, red red (cherry red), new red, temptation red, lemon yellow, sunset yellow, bright blue, indigo and their respective aluminum lake. As well as synthetic beta-carotene, sodium chlorophyll and titanium dioxide.
- Q: I just want a list of all food additives/flavor enhancers or basically anything that contains animals. I‘m not a vegan, so nothing to do with eggs/milk, but I do know certain cheeses have rennet in them. So I would just like a list of foods with any animal in them. I hope that makes sense!! Thank you soo much!! :)
- Two things to watch out for: rennet (which you mentioned, and it comes from the lining of a calf's stomach used to curdle milk for chese), and gelatine (which is made from crushed cow bones). Also, any shrimp powder or oyster sauce or chicken/beef flavourings. Those are things that I look out for on the labels.
