Calcium Silicon Powder
1. Description:
Silicon Calcium Alloy is a stable compound; it is supplied in the form of solid with approximate melting point of 1245°C and boiling point 1800°C in normal atmospheric pressure.
Solubility in water reacts with moist gas and water.
Silicon Calcium Alloy is a potent deoxidizer and desulfurizer utilized in the production of high grade steels. Although Silicon itself is a powerful deoxidizer, Calcium is by far more powerful. In addition, Calcium Silicon is used to control the shape, size and distribution of oxide and sulfide inclusions improving fluidity, machinability, ductility, and impact properties of the final product. Calcium Silicon can be obtained in lump or powder form. The most widely used method for intergraded steel applications is in the form of cored wire. This is mainly because calcium has a low density and high reactivity in the ladle making it difficult to introduce and retain in the melt. Cored wire eliminates these variables.

3. Application:
(1) Silicon calcium alloy is an ideal deoxidizer and desulfurizer.
(2) CaSi is generally used in manufacturing steel of high quality and low carbon, and the same as the production of stainless.
(3) CaSi is also served as a starting material for other special alloys, such as nickel base alloy and titanium base alloy.
(4) Silicon Calcium Alloy can also be used as the inoculant of cast iron and the additive in the production of nodular cast iron.

- For the sake of the question, i'll say Regular. You didn't list any Death, Black, Progressive, Power, or Speed Metal bands in your 'Regular' metal part. I love all the bands you listed as 'regular' metal. Nu-Metal is not to my taste. The dislike the other genres that are incorporated into the music, such as like Hip Hop, Industrial, Grunge, and Electronica are mixed with metal. I like it when bands incorporate Jazz, Classical, Hardcore Punk, Progressive Rock, and other 'Regular' metal genres into their music. I also can't get into the riifs that alot of Nu-Metal bands come up with, but again, this is due to the other genres mixed in. I have actually checked out Nu-Metal when some bands were recommended to me by friends at school, but I just can't get into it. The same goes for the genres they mix with metal. Maybe one day I'll like it, but right now It's just not to my taste. @ Q: I may not be an expert in music (I did receive the music award in grade 10, does that count XD), but I think there would be alot of metal bands that produce their music similarly. Look up Morbid Angel's albums Blessed are the Sick and Covenant, read into them and watch interviews with their guitarist Trey Azagthoth. The same goes for Death, especially their later works. Those two bands are Death Metal, only one genre in the vast expanse of Metal genres, so even if they don't prove my point, I'm sure there are bands that do XD

- For the most part the reactivity of metals decrease their value. Highly reactive metals are valuable to the chemical industry to make compounds. Metals that are very unreactive like gold and platinum are very valuable as Jewellery. Semi metals or semi conductors are valuable to the electronics industry. Reactivity however on its own has no bearing on value, what influences value is supply vs demand. If there is more demand than supply it puts upward pressure on the price, if demand is low and supply abundant it puts downward pressure on the price.

- I don't know the process but be sure that if it can be done without platinised electrodes then thats the method that would have been used.You dont need high conductivity but you probably need the catalytic properties and chemical inertness of a platininum surface.Just from the electrolysis point of view graphite(pencil lead)might be worth studying.and it'scheap and there!
