- Q: I have a Honda odyssey 2004 and lately I have been having problems with the back doors sliding. Sometimes when I try to close the doors with the remote like I always do, one of the back doors will not slide on its own. Do you know why that maybe happening? I thought maybe when I took it to get an oil change at sears that they mistreated the car. It wasn't doing that before then. Yea I try to close it with the remote and it gets stuck, and then it doesn't close unless I try a couple of times or pushing it manually. Its annoy because if you close the door manually then you can't lock it with the remote. Any thoughts on why its doing that?

- I had a hybrid once that decided she could eat her own dog door inside one day. It meant the cat also got out. I decided to try the dog door with the magnet, but the cat quickly learned she can paw at it hard enough and open it. Then I tried the one with the key. - I agree with rizonout,, I myself have never liked screwdrive operators, over time the bushing wear out, and they can make the screaming from hell sound in your garage, from the screw rubbing against the aluminum rail. They are also messy from dripping on your cars. I also like the Liftmaster Brand operator, with the 1 piece rails. They have the feature also of if your garage door is open at night and you walk into your garage and break the beam for the safety eyes, it will turn on your lights on the operator great for not walking into a dark garage, also they do design the operator with the nylon gears in them so if something goes out of adjustment with the door or operator, ( cause we all know not everybody services their doors like they are supposed to) they are the cheapest thing to replace in the operator. Springs need to be serviced and lubed, doors need to be properly balanced, rollers need to be checked and lubed. As for 1/2 or 3/4, just get the 1/2hp operator, it is more than enough for operating a 20 x 8 door as long as it is balanced right.. Belts are a nice and quiet running , but chains can be also....

- Another thing you need to do annually is go to Lowes/HD and go to the garage door aisle and get a can of garage door lube. I highly recommend. I had to replace a gear unit on my G-door. Buy it, put on a mask, spray it, and listen to how smoothly your G-door runs afterwards. But, yellow led on your G-door sensor, probably time to consult manual (hope you saved/filed). Or go where you bought and ask about yellow led. Good luck.
- Q: the key fob that i have for my 1997 jeep grand cherokee laredo does not lock my front doors. i have to manually lock them. i have changed the battery in the fob. could it be the motor in the door?
- If the power door locks work when you use the lock button on the door (not the fob) then the door lock actuator motors are not the problem. If they do not lock with the door button, most likely the actuators will need to be replaced. Does the fob unlock the doors? if not, it could be that it is bad, or needs to be reprogrammed.
