Q: If you were to wrap a large block of ice in a blanket, would the ice get warmer or colder? Also, would the cold get through the blanket?
challenging stuffcheck out over yahoothis may help!
Q: A few questions for construction folks out thereI'm ignorant on the subject, but am a first time homeownerIs all that's between laminate flooring and the ground/dirt is plywood, insulation, and the laminate? If so, why isn't there like a huge hard plastic barrier or metal or even concrete? Wouldn't that keep insects out better?Around my floor air vents, the small crack where the vent meets the floor.is this a direct path to under the house? A possible insect/rodent pathway? Should I place expandable foam there?I know walls are hollow (insulation and such inside), but at the bottom of the walls are they simply open to rodents and insects getting into them? I ask all of these questions because I'm paranoid of pestsFor the first time, we heard a mouse or something in our ceiling scratching at the woodProblem is, above the ceiling is NOT the attic, it's the up stairs floor so there's no way to set traps etc.I'm aggravated that it's even possible for something to get into that space in the first place! Thanks!
Try a good FLEXIBLE bristled hair brush - brush in the same direction and kind of flick at the end of the short sweepShould bring the lint off and fluff the blanket up a bit.
Q: I have long hair and it is really frizzy and real curlyit usually takes 2 hours to straighten it and i cant stand itThe frizz jus gets on my nerves it is all puffy, ive tried almost everythingAny suggestions would help!!

Q: I am making my grandfather a no sew fleece blanket with the 82nd airborne insignia on itI also wanted to put on (82nd AIRBORNE DIVISION, IN AIR ON LAND)I do not know how to sew well and I have no idea if iron on letters would work for fleecePLEASE HELP!
The components come in anti-static (conductive) bagsTouch the computer case and touch the bag at the same time before opening the bagIf the room is really dry, place the components on or back in the bags unless they are installed in the caseDon't walk across the carpet and immediately pick up a component.
Q: what do you think of this build?
You picked a good brand for the PSU but it's a wee bit overkill at 850w, that is unless you plan on replacing the 8800 GTS with something in SLI or CrossfireAs for the HSF, stock works ok but I always go with aftermarket cooling and use Arctic Silver 5 thermal ceramic to cool my processorsMy CPU core idles at 35?c and peaks at about 42?c with good aftermarket cooling and AS5Newegg is a great place to check out the best cooling options for your CPU.
Q: i just REALLY want to know some good tips on straightening hair to make it extra straight and stay straight, i have EXTREMELY curly hair, and its dry and poofy so i like to straighten it a lotany tips? id also like to know some products you would recommend to make it smooth, straight, and silky soft! thanks !
First of all, don't straighten your hair when it's curlyBlow dry your hair as straight as you can get it, THEN flat iron itbe sure to get an ionic, ceramic blow dryer and a ceramic (tourmaline is also good) ironThey help smooth your hair and decrease frizz without damaging your hair as muchI actually use a blow dryer from Europe that isn't sold anymore but I know that Conair blow dryers are goodWhen you get an iron, get a really good oneIt will cost a lot but it's a good investmentTry to get a Solia, Sedu or a CHISolias are the least expensive (about 80 dollars) and the best straightener of the threeThe sedu is better for your hair though, it keeps it shinier and smoother-just not as straightThe Chi's are ok and are around the same price as the Solia, but they only have ceramic coatingBe sure to get a serum, straightening product, heat protectant and a holding hairsprayJohn Frieda frizz ease have REALLY good serums (i use original) and straightening products (i use their straightening spray.) ALWAYS use a heat protectant before you flat iron your hair, otherwise it will damage your hair a lot worseTry the Tresemme thermal creations sprayThen to hold your straight hair, use Dove Straightening SprayIt's non aerosol, doesn't make your hair as hard as a rock and it works wellIf your hair really frizzes up during the day, get a smoothing creme for dry hairTry either Frizz Ease finishing creme or garnier fructis anti humidity smoothing milk

Q: I have a house that is shaped like a quot;Tquot; with the top of the T facing the breezeThis blocks the breeze from the remainder of the house (the trunk of the T)The house has a comp roofWhen I bought the house there was no attic ventilation except some small eve ventsIt gets very hot up there and the trunk of the T part of the house gets very hotSo, I put in two gable ventsI didn't put in a third one because the rain hits against that side of the houseThis did not helpSo, I put in a solar gable vent fanThis also did not reduce the temperature in the inside part of the house (trunk of the T)So, I put in a radiant barrier on the floor of the attic and this did not help eitherI looked into putting on a ridge vent but the information I read said I'd have to then seal up the gable ventsNow I am considering painting the roof with titanium reflective roof paint which will cost ~$2200Does anyone have any other ideas, preferrably less expensive?
Don't paint the roofYou'll be adding $2200 to shingles that will not last any longer than they would without the paintPutting lipstick on a pigTake that money, (plus a little more), and have a metal standing seam roof retrofitted over the shinglesAsk the contractor to use Galvalume, which is galvanized steel sheet with an aluminum coating, (be sure to specify domestic material rather than imported, some things are still better when made in the USA), it will stay shiny thereby giving you the reflective quality you are afterBy leaving the shingles under the metal, you have an added insulative value, plus it's cheaper, faster and cleaner and environmentally friendlier than tearing them off and hauling to a landfillIf you want to go the extra bucks, you can have the contractor install a layer of foil faced foam insulation board under the standing seam(The metal and say 3/4 foam board, and 1X4 runners for nailers on top of your old shingle roof will still be substantially less weight than another layer of shingles would be.) If you do that, you will have to wear a sweater to go in your attic in July;-) plus, it's the last roof you will ever buy for that house.
