1. Manual Wafer Butterfly Valve Description

A butterfly valve is a valve which can be used for isolating or regulating flow. The closing mechanism takes the form of a disk. Operation is similar to that of a ball valve, which allows for quick shut off. Butterfly valves are generally favored because they are lower in cost to other valve designs as well as being lighter in weight, meaning less support is required. The disc is positioned in the center of the pipe, passing through the disc is a rod connected to an actuator on the outside of the valve. Rotating the actuator turns the disc either parallel or perpendicular to the flow. Unlike a ball valve, the disc is always present within the flow, therefore a pressure drop is always induced in the flow, regardless of valve position.

5.FAQ

1. What is manual wafer butterfly valve?

A: Wafer style is the more common of the two and is less expensive than the lug style. The wafer style butterfly valve is just about the standard. It ís so common that no one even bothers to use the word "wafer" when ordering a butterfly valve. It is taken for granted that if a butterfly valve is ordered, a wafer style will be received.

2. How about the Installation of the Wafer Style Butterfly Valve?
A: Butterfly valves are installed by inserting the valve between two flanges using bolts or studs and nuts to hold it all together. This type of installation, of course, makes it impossible to disconnect just one side of the piping system from the valve. That benefit is received using the lug style valve.

3. What is the working principle of manual wafer butterfly valve?

A: A butterfly valve is from a family of valves called quarter-turn valves. In operation, the valve is fully open or closed when the disc is rotated a quarter turn. The "butterfly" is a metal disc mounted on a rod. When the valve is closed, the disc is turned so that it completely blocks off the passageway. When the valve is fully open, the disc is rotated a quarter turn so that it allows an almost unrestricted passage of the fluid. The valve may also be opened incrementally to throttle flow.

Q: Ok, so I took my car in for maintenance (Mustang GT convertible 2002) and the mechanic told me the valve gaskets needed to be replaced and when he gave me the estimate, they were two seperate charges for valve gaskets and valve covers, total of about $250.00 not including labor. Is he trying to rip me off cause I'm a girl by the way? Anyways, I didn't get it done cause it needed something else too and I didn't have enough money so I said I would be back in two weeks. So I called the dealership to inquire about the price and I asked the parts guy for a price on valve gaskets and he was like, I don't know what you mean, we have valve cover gaskets but nothing says just valve gaskets? I told him to give me the price anyways, thinking I would ask my brother (who hasn't tried to help me anyways) and it was $60.00 for both (I need two). How can this be if the other guy was charging me $250.00 for different parts? Help!!! Frustrated and confused, I don't know anything about cars :(
This Site Might Help You. RE: Is a valve gasket the same as a valve cover gasket? Q: What's the material of the butterfly valve seat?
Butterfly valve seat materials commonly used include EPDM (three yuan ethylene propylene rubber), NBR (Ding Qing rubber), PTFE (PTFE), metal sealing (cemented carbide).Their scope of application is..:1, EPDM (three yuan ethylene propylene rubber): excellent weather resistance, ozone resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance, water vapor, color stability, electrical properties, oil and gas flow at room temperature. Ethylene propylene rubber products can be used at 120 degrees for a long time and can be used briefly or intermittently at 150-200 degrees centigrade.2, NBR (Ding Qing rubber): from butadiene and acrylonitrile was prepared by emulsion polymerization, nitrile rubber by emulsion polymerization at low temperature, excellent oil resistance, high wear resistance, good heat resistance, strong adhesion. Its disadvantages are poor resistance to low temperature, poor ozone resistance, poor electrical properties, and slightly lower elasticity.3, PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): can be used at 260 degrees for continuous use, with the highest use temperature of 290-320 degrees, low coefficient of friction, good wear resistance, and excellent chemical stability. It can not be injection molded and can be extruded or painted. PTFE's unique properties make it widely used in chemical, petroleum, textile, food, paper making, medical, electronic and mechanical industries and marine operations.4, metal seal (hard alloy): metal seal valve seat material has good resistance to high temperature, high pressure resistance, corrosion resistance and wear resistance, but the high requirements of the processing technology, the biggest drawback is the long time operation is easy to generate leakage.

Q: What is the medium flow rate when the centerline butterfly valve is fully open?
After inspection, the product certificate shall be attached to the factory.Butterfly: also known as butterfly valve, control valve has a simple structure, can be used for low pressure pipeline valve switching control is closed parts (disc or disc) is a disk, around the valve axis to achieve the opening and closing a valve, the valve can be used to control air, water, steam, all kinds of corrosive media, mud, oil, metals and radioactive liquid media and other types of fluid flow.
Q: I have a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and I think I have the case of the blow-by. The engine had high mileage, but was rebuilt b/c it stalled while driving. 3.1L V6 gasoline engine. The fuel filter and the fuel pump are brand new. Now we have the same problem a few months later. It stalls while driving. Its been sitting a while and won't start by itself, so I pulled off the air intake hose off of the air filter to spray starting fluid into it. I noticed oil puddled in the air intake hose, so I looked for the PCV valve on the rocker cover. There is a tube going from the air-intake hose to the rocker cover. I popped out the tube from the rocker cover and there is no PCV valve. Just tube. Is that where the PCV valve is supposed to go? If not, where can I find it on the engine? And could that possibly fix the blow-by and the stalling engine? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

Q: The flow ratio of area and maximum flow area of the valve is? If it refers to the opening of the valve rotation angle? Butterfly linear closure refers to the butterfly valve at constant angular velocity close? When the change trend of flow is what? These valves problem bothering me for a long time,
Butterfly valve is fully open to fully closed is usually less than 90 degrees, the opening refers to the butterfly plate rotation angle;Linear closing should be the locator is linear, if the potentiometer is 0-10 euro, corresponding to 0-90 degrees, 500 Europe, opening 45 degrees;
Q: Butterfly valve general use occasions
Butterfly valve general use occasions:1 、 soft sealing butterfly valve applies to ventilation, dust removal pipeline two-way opening and closing and adjustment, metallurgy, light industry, power, petrochemical systems, gas pipelines and waterways.2, metal sealed double eccentric butterfly valve, suitable for heating, steam, water and gas, oil, acid and other pipelines, as the adjustment and closure devices.3, metal seal three eccentric butterfly valve, in addition to as large pressure swing adsorption gas separation control valve.4, metal seal three eccentric butterfly valve, can be widely used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, electricity, food, medicine, water supply and drainage, gas transportation and other fields.
Q: How to calculate the size of the manual butterfly valve?
[1] type code, transmission mode, connection form, structure form, sealing surface material or lining material, nominal pressure, valve body material, this is the most basic arrangement way now D341X-16C. [2]: butterfly valve also known as butterfly valve, control valve has a simple structure, can be used for low pressure pipeline valve switching control is closed parts (disc or disc) is a disk, around the valve axis to achieve the opening and closing a valve, the valve can be used to control the air water, steam, and all kinds of corrosive media, mud, oil, metals and radioactive liquid media and other types of fluid flow. On the pipeline, mainly from cutting and throttling. Butterfly valve headstock is a disc shaped disc, in the valve body around its own axis of rotation, so as to achieve the purpose of opening or closing or regulation.
Q: Butterfly valve in the use of the difference? Caliber?
Role of butterfly valveButterfly valve is to use disc type to open and close parts reciprocating reciprocating about 90 degrees to open, close or adjust the flow of medium valve. The butterfly valve has the advantages of simple structure, small volume, light weight, material consumption, installation of small size, the driving performance of torque is small, simple operation, rapid, high chemical corrosion, and can also have good flow control function and closure characteristics, the use of butterfly valve is very extensive. Its varieties and quantities are still expanding, and the development of high temperature, high pressure, large caliber, high sealing, long life, excellent regulation, as well as multi-function development of one valve. Its reliability and other performance indicators have reached a high level. Disadvantages, there is a certain resistance to the medium.Gate valves are more used in steam pipes and large diameter water supply pipelines, because of the general requirements of fluid resistance is small, the use of gate valve.Valve is hand wheel rotation, stem upward movement. Flow is not the same, the gate valve requires full open. Need a higher installation space, the valve sealing surface has a certain self sealing capacity, its spool by the media pressure closely with the valve seat sealing surface contact, to achieve tight leakage. Wedge gate valve spool angle is generally 3~6 degrees, when forced to shut down excessive or temperature changes of the valve core is easy to die. Therefore, high temperature and high pressure wedge gate valve, in the structure have taken certain measures to prevent spool stuck. The valve in the opening and closing valve and valve seat sealing surface contact and mutual friction is always so easy to wear sealing surface, especially in close off the valve, the valve before and after the great pressure, sealing surface wear is more serious.
