- Q: How old do you think is old enough to use a vacuum cleaner?
- I would say 10 years old. kids younger than that wont really understand how important it is. i mean, its not CIA stuff, but you know, getting the corners, taking care of it, not banging it around. I think 10 year olds understand that its for cleaning and tidying, not a toy you push around that makes lotsa noise to scare the cat or dog. and they gotta have a little muscle, at least right? i dont know about you but i dont have those fancy dyson vacuum cleaners that are light and easy to maneuver. so yes, 10 years old :) for me. ahhah
- Q: If i reduced considerably the size of the hose of a vacuum cleaner say by 4, is the suction power goin to increase by 4? Since pressure is equal to force/area. im trying to make my vacuum cleaner ultra powerful. thank you.
- No it will not increase. The velocity at the nozzle will increase but lifting power will not, it will pick up small objects better but not larger ones. The danger is that most vacuum cleaners rely on the flow of air through the motor to cool it, when you reduce this by restricting the nozzle you may overheat and burn out the motor !
- Q: I thought Dyson had a patent on bagless vacuum cleaners but now everybody is copying him. Is it because the patent has now expired and so people can copy it? (as he once sued hoover for copying him but that was a long time ago, around 10 years ago)Thankyou for your help
- Are you talking about a broom? I don't think those can be patented.
- Q: Any advice, anyone?
- Well I dont know if it is inexpensive but it is very important the vacuum has a power head to separate the carpet fibres to lift the pet hair, I have a SEBO and with several cats it does the job perfectly. I found cheap vacs with no power head are useless.
- Q: I have bought 4 vacuum cleaners in the past that all have fallen apart or just quit running right in the middle of using them, and all were less than 6 months old. I got tired of buying high price vacuum cleaners and them not lasting even 90 days. I have bought Hoover, Eureka, Dirt devil, and Phantom vacuums all of them turning out to be what I would say to be large rip offs.
- You get what you pay for with new vacuums. What you bought was not high-priced stuff except maybe the Hoover. A high-priced new vacuum could cost $2,000. Go find a good used one at a sales/service place. I have a Filter Queen about 30 years old that just got its first repair. A new motor, $150 installed. I expect it to last another 25 years now because there's hardly anything else to break on it. That vacuum has vacuumed massive amounts of pet hair in the 25 years I've owned it, and anything else except water that would fit through the hose. I just helped a friend of mine buy the same model, $200 with a new motor, 2 year warranty on the motor, a year on everything else.
- Q: What is the fear of vacuum cleaners called?
- lazy dirty lol~~~idk but the cat has it @!!!!
- Q: I know they're like vacuum cleaners but is there anything they absolutely cannot have, aside from chocolate?
- Grapes, raisins, avocado skin/pit, onion, cooked bones (exceptions are bones in sardines, canned salmon etc), fruit seeds/pits, anything with xylitol, coffee/anything with caffeine, walnuts, macadamia nuts, large amounts of garlic, yeast dough, alcohol.
- Q: Has anyone or does anyone work for Rainbow Vacuum cleaner company? If so, is it worth working there. Would it be a good part-time job? Im just looking to make a little extra money? What is the experience like? Please give me details?
- I did a lot of years ago, they expect you to sell all of your family friends, and then you run out of scutomers, and out of a job, overpriced, overated, find something else to do!
- Q: Vacuum is the absence of matter. From my understanding, vacuums work by fans and air currents....I don't understand.
- It's a name, it's not that important. You can call them suction cleaners if you want. .
- Q: what is the fear of vacuum cleaners getting near your feet called? because idk why but every time a vcuum comes near my feet i flinch and have a mini heartattack.... anyone wanna tell me? (:
- It's called childish. Grow up. The vacuum cleaner isn't going to suck up your feet.
