Q: I now want to match the tile and extend it into my living room and dining area. How would I go about finding the same tile?
yea take it to menards hd or lowes and ask the people in the flooring dept. if they have ever seen anything like it.
Q: Does any one know of a website or place Greenville, NC that would sell cheap bathroom tiles? We are rebuilding our bathroom and Lowe‘s and Home Depot both have outrageous prices? Thanks in advance!
Ask okorder and put in your zip code, you can read the listings of every auction in the area around you. I got enough ceramic tile to tile my entire bathroom, it's 10X15, for $11. I also just bought Bruce oak hardwood flooring for a 25X18 room for $200. You'll just need a little patience to wait until what you want comes up at auction.
Q: should i put tile in my kitchen if im gonna put wood floors in rest of my house ? or should i put the wood floors all through out ?? does it look ok with tile and wood transition ??
go with what you want that's the first rule of any interior design whats the point if you hate it. However sun rooms get very hot and cool whitelight coloured tiles are very welcome on the feet. I take it the sun room is in direct access to the garden if this is the case tiles are easier to clean than wood. That said wood does look great. an interior designer is paid to come up with ideas that you wouldn't not paid to tell you exactly what to do.
Q: I want to use the tiles for a back splash in the kitchen. Is there a reason I have to use the spacers? Why can‘t I put them where they are touching each other? I‘m not using them on a floor. I don‘t like the look of the space between the tiles.
the spaces are important on wall tiles because you need the grout for extra support. Think about it. If the only support you have is on the bottom of the tiles, their is an increase chance of the tiles falling. The grout around each tile makes each tile attached independently having also side support.
Q: Figure, I was in the indoor shoot, only two lights 600W1200w, brick surface is not bright matt antique tiles, moved to remove the two sides still have, I do not want to shoot good-looking, is to accurately accurate design printing of. Is there any way? Do you have to be back? Polar mirror ok? By the way, what kind of high-reflective polished tiles to shoot?
As long as the light source and the tiles are not at right angles, most of the light will not be reflected back, it will not form a large glare. Simply put, that is, when the light to play side light.
Q: We had new ceramic tiles put in the shower. The tiles are large size (12x12) and the grout line is about the width of a pencil. After a few days we noticed very thin (hairline) cracks in the grout, especially around the shower bench and the corners of the shower. The tiles are all in place. I think the contractors mixed the grout too thin. Can I just sand those areas of grout down a bit and then put new grout on top of it over those areas?
The contractor did not use the correct underlayment for the tiles. This means the floor underneath moves and flexes when weight is applied. Tile and grout are very rigid and don't flex. As for the grout mixture, it does not matter. Too soupy, too hard, it all end ups to be the same, just a matter of clean up for the worker. If they wont repair it, contact your attorney, you hired them to do a professional job, not a slop around side project.
Q: is there another way to cut tiles ?i dont have a tile cutter , thanks
you can rent one from Home Depot
Q: What is the loss of tiles? What is the difference between floor tiles and bathroom tiles? Living room masonry 80X80 balcony, bathroom floor, kitchen floor is 30X30 bathroom wall, kitchen wall is 30X45. We help me see how much loss in this
The state for the tile paving loss is not a serious requirement and description of the tile in the paving process, due to the construction level of workers, the degree of careful differences, the relevant size of the paving area, whether it is related to special flower shop , Eventually leading to its loss will be different. In general, in the tile purchase, according to the actual paving area plus 5-10% of the loss is appropriate.
Q: How difficult is it to strip and reseal saltillo tile floors? Is this something that I can do myself or do I need to hire a professional?
My reaction here is the following: NOOOOOOO! Well, you can. But I don' t think you should. The charm of Saltillo tile is that earthy, rustic color. That's why people choose it. All of that aside, it is your tile to do with as you please. However, there is one thing to think about before going ahead: resale value. Changing the look of an already distinctive type of tile which many people look for may hurt your chances some on this front. Handmade tiles are a real selling point with some buyers. If you've got 'em, flaunt 'em! :) What ever you decide, good luck with your reno!
Q: I‘m tiling a shower in a small bathroom, should I go with ceramic or something like vitreous? Any experience welcomed greatly!!
After installing thousands of sq. ft. of tile and remodeling more bathrooms than much else I cant imagine NOT using glazed/fired ceramic...especially in a shower/tub area. The reason is fairly obvious...ceramic/porcelain, is Not strictly porous, and certainly easier to clean. Although my entire bathroom is done in 16 x 16 tile to match the floor, I suggest no larger than 4 x4 or 6 x 6 and/or accomodate any trim type/ decorative tiles you want. I also tile all the way to the ceiling. Steven Wolf Obviously ceramic can be purchased in LOOK LIKE ANYTHING. It need not strictly have a GLOSS, but certainly should be glazed to allow no niches for mold; etc; which you'll have to address regularly in the grout lines anyway.
