- in some places i lived, yes people expect you to have a degree and a child on the way at 24but in the country i live now everybody travels before collage I think you should do that before you have a long term commitment like a career or family one day you will wish you could have done this trip so go for it.. ignore everybody else they are just jealous because all they did is study through grade school and high school, then study some more through collage, work, work and more work for them wohoooo!!!
