The smoke alarm works on the principle that infrared scatters in the smoke to probe the smoke which is generated by the incomplete combustion at the initial stage of the fire. It consists of photoelectric system, signal processing identification circuit and alarm circuit. The infrared scatters on the surface of the smoke when the smoke enters the darkroom of the detector, then the photoelectric diode receives the scattered light and generates the photoelectric signal current. The photoelectric signal generates the alarm signal after being processed by the identification circuit, accordingly the purpose of alarming is achieved. mini
- Q:my professor asked us to write a paper about a newly passed bill (law) and told us to focus on plight of access. what the hell does that mean?
- If the average yield of a nuclear weapon is 50 kilotons and there are 30,000 nuclear weapons on earth, this gives us a total yield of 1.5 gigatons, which is 6.276 x 10^18 joules. The crater would be tens of kilometres across and perhaps over several kilometres deep. As for punching through the crust, let's look at a few values. Silica, one of the main components of the earth's crust, has a SHC of 800 joules per Kg per kelvin, a boiling point of 2,550 K and a density of 3000 kg/m^3. The continental crust is on average 40 km thick. To melt and vaporize a 40 x 40 x 40 km (64,000 km^3) part of the crust down to the mantle would require at the very least 3.8784 X 10^23 J., but craters are much wider than they are deep, so you'd be looking at a crater some 400 km across to punch through the crust, which would require a much greater amount of energy still. All of the earth's nuclear weapons combined would fall some five orders of magnitude short of generating enough energy to create a crater big enough to reach the mantle, although it would create a dust cloud large enough to blanket the sun for a year or more. it is likely that, if the Apophis asteroid were to collide with earth in 2036, it's impact energy would exceed the sum of all nuclear weaponary in current arsenals, although not anywhere near the Chicxulub impact 65 million years ago.
- Q:will firefighters come to turn it off ?
- Mine have all been safe. I have used an electric blanket for 50 years and I wouldn't live without one.
- Q:where this lady got struck by lightening twice! like one week she got struck and then went to the hospital. and she had sum kind of damage, i couldnt really see the tv, i was just listening to it. then she went home and then the next week, got struck by lightening again! i was like dang. did yall see that?
- The quickest way to check is there is a short in the steering column wire harness would be to jump an external wire from ignition switch thru the firewall to the starter relay. Then try to start the car with the wheel in the normal position. If the car starts, you definitely have a short in the steering column harness. I would not try to identify the short source but would go to an after market retailer and purchase a new steering column wire harness. Most have plugs at both ends and can be changed out by removal of the steering wheel, disconnecting the harness at the wheel end, plug and tape the new harness to the disconnected existing harness, then from the engine compartment, use the existing wire harness to pull the new harness thru the steering column and firewall to the plug point in the engine compartment. Remove the tape, unplug the new harness from the old, unplug and remove the old harness, plug the newly pulled harness in at the engine compartment and steering wheel point reinstall the steering wheel and you should be good to go.
- Q:what's the stuff called inside a fire extinguisher?
- Bravo Fisher_King! Best answer I've saw in a long time I actually have one of the President reels that he suggested and they are AWESOME! I am not a big spender on my fishing reels and rods (however I would be if I had the extra cash!) and the Pflueger President is the best spinning reel out there for under $100. STAY AWAY from Abu spinning reels. I own one and it's pretty much JUNK. It's very wobbly on the retrieve, the reel feels cheap, the innards are ALL PLASTIC, and the reel handle frequently loosens up to the point of the handle falling off all together while fishing St. Croix's Triumph series must be a great rod. It is made by MY FAVORITE rod manufacturer, St. Croix. Medium action should do quite well for a trout/bass hybrid rod reel! Even though I'd MUCH prefer two rods reels for trout and bass you can get by with one SOLID medium action rod and reel. Once again best answer should go to F_K along with a thumbs up EDIT : Also, another reel you could quite possibly look at would be the Shimano Spirex It's the same price as the President. I don't own one of the Spirex's but they seem like good reels from the reviews. The double handle and blueish/metallic color drawed me in quite easily
- Q:Can you give me as much info on the Air Force Fire department as possible?
- There are two sorts of smoke detector. One for heat and one for smoke. Do you have the right one in the right place? The heat one should be in the kitchen, the smoke type protecting the exit from your place.
- Q:My lap-top's mouse tends to get a mind of its own, with the cursor going off suddenly to either corner of the screen to stay. I can't move it out or anywhere else, for that matter. It takes complete control of itself, unless I hold down the middle mouse button for 30 seconds. This happens often, though. How do I stop it for good? Thanks for your help!! :)
- I would hardly think that any water coming from a hydrant would be unsafedue to the fact that firemen are usually in that stuff when fighting a fire. No one would take a chance on exposing the firemen to unsafe water. You could always take a sample from the faucet in the building and have it tested if you really want to feel secure about it.
- Q:I would like to do a science fair project on diseases and/or viruses. I'm unsure where to go beyod this?
- I assume your wash machine might be old? If its it might because you didn't make nesscary repair? If you leave these things on attendant then the part can become fault which equalls to fire Get the PICTURE
- Q:ok, so i know overheating a colored glass bowl to the point that it boils the resin is bad. But how baad is it when you see that some of the paint is burnt as well :o?!
- Okay so dads a little flakey. I wouldnt call him weird either. Me? I dont do it and never did it myself because I dont get it. Maybe its all that keeps them together, who knows. Put up with it a while longer but dont hold it against him. Ive seen worse like guys blowing their paycheck at topless bars or gambling or even drugs. Ok its his thing and leave it alone. One thing I do know is that you will never put up with it from your someday husband.
- Q:im wondering if anyone knows of a web side or sum place that i can get racing gear like the fire suit and helmets gloves etc for racing im looking into getting into the legend race cars soon.im looing around to see what im getting into.
- My story is when I was living in Ireland me and my girlfriend were getting romantic on the couch, candles were lit and a bottle of whiskey was on the coffee table near the candles, well my girlfriend decided to get frisky and she knocked over the whiskey bottle (Alcohol and fire not a good mix, and it hit all 3 candles and started a pretty big fire (luckily there was a fire extinguisher near to extinguish the fire. It also caught the blanket on fire that we were on. Then I didn't know where any of her ticklish spots were and I hit one and then she decided her elbow meets my nose and similar story a nose bleed but no blood in the hair. and yes this is a 100% true story.
- Q:Would you recommend wearing safety goggles while string trimming grass?
- it puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again. how creepy
