- don't poke or cut hole in plastic, it will make a weak point that will tear. heavy plastic sheeting tears. you do need to vent the house though frame some openings at one peak near top and corresponding hole near bottom on other end. cover both openings with screen or hardware cloth to kep critters out.

I found one from Lowe's: Item# 64430 Model# C101006BK, Sunbelt 10' x 100' Black 6Mil Plastic Sheeting for $57.30. It is cheaper and thicker than those found next to the wood flooring materials. The box says it is good for vapor barrier. Even the 4 mil type feels thicker than those found at flooring section.Most flooring site mentioned that the minimum is 6 mil. Does that mean any 6 mil plastic sheeting will be acceptable?Thanks.
- Plastic is plastic is plastic. There is no reason you can not use the 6 mil thick stuff but you don't need that much do you? It comes in smaller rolls at the hardware store or Farm N Fleet near me. I just bought a roll the other day that was 10' by 25' for about $17.00. Because you are on a cement floor you may wish to overlap and tape any seams you have. I have seen it come in 15 by 25 too if that would be more the size you need. You still may need the foam pad under the flooring depending upon the type of product you use. I know they make at least one type of flooring that has the pad attached (didn't like it tho).

- Wallpaper paste will not work in this application. It will turn to mush again as soon as moisture gets to it. Most adhesives that apply in liquid form will not work well, and almost all will have smell that remains for some time One adhesive that would work well both on plastic sheeting, have virtually no smell, and will remain solid under dirt is hot glue, but application is time-consuming, and you will have to be careful with the application temperature, as it has to stick onto the plastic, but not melt through it. A heavy-grade plastic sheet will be needed/ You have some choice in the melt points of the glue stick and can ask at the store about the lowest melt sticks they have. . The easiest solution to this might be a small craft-store glue gun and buy the sticks from them (or a dollar store) as they only use glue sticks that have a low melt point Before beginning your main work, practice applying the glue on a spare part of the sheeting and see how quickly you can work with it,
