- Q: I have to make a couple aluminum ingot molds and wasn't sure how much casting sand I neededAlso since the shape of the bricks is really simple I wasn't sure if I needed a two part mold reallyAny advice?
- With aluminum you don't actually need casting sand for molding ingots - you need a wooden shape of about the right shape to press down into the damp sand that you pack into shapeCasting sand is finer than the playbox sand sold in hardware stores and will give a smoother surfaceThis link shows my plain sand box (being used for a second purpose in the picture, my casting sand frame, and some other stuff including the sand pounding tool I made which I also push ingot shapes into the sand (I also have some 2x2x4 ingot models tapered on the side) and way down in the iron pot melting aluminum is one of the ingotsIf open faced, the ingot will have a rounded top, like water in a filled glass has curved edges and for the same reasonAs for how much, I would plan on 2 of sand in all directions from aluminum if you are in a wood box or a hole in the ground - just to give enough sand that the wet stickiness has enough strength to hold together as it dries out under the heat If your ingots are 2x2x4 like mine, then a box 6x6x8 would be needed for 1 ingot - which is wasteful - add 4 for each additional ingot sideways - I do 3 or 4 in the sand box shown.
- Q: How can rice be best preserved in a container to maintain its freshness and quality?
-
The best way to store rice in a container is to keep it in an airtight, opaque container to protect it from light and moisture. First, ensure the rice is thoroughly dried before storage to prevent clumping. Store the container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. For long-term storage, consider using vacuum-sealed bags or adding a desiccant to absorb excess moisture. Always check for any signs of pests or spoilage before using the rice.

- Q: for ex.like an aluminum cube and an aluminum sphere made out of the same things, different shape, but different densities why? and also if a cube is cut in half why would one of the pieces be the same density as the original?
- If it was not pre-cooked before being packaged, then no, it is NOT safe to eatAnd you may have destroyed your microwave oven, tooBet'cha you'll be more careful from now on!
- Q: i dont understand :S :(
- u need a tent canvas clothes wet weather gear if theres a beach near by go there and if theres a ocean or stream try fishing
- Q: It's a really nice bike,it's a 1988it's black and pinkIt has a gel Vetta saddle, Shimano SLR brakes, Shimano 105 crank arms, hubs, derailleurs and brake levers, Advent Bear Claw pedals, a Trek Computer, a CR-MO fork (Chrome Molybdenum Fork Tubing), Matrix IsoC wheels, Matrix IsoTech tires and Easton handlebarsIt also say that it is made of heat treated Alcoa aluminum if that means anything.
- Your bike is old, not vintageYou may really like it, but that does not mean that others will share your affectionIf the rear hub spacing is not the current 130mm standard, that aluminum frame cannot be respaced, so that further reduces the resale priceEven in good shape, your bike is only worth $100 - $150 if it is in great shape
- Q: Does the surface of a CD conduct electricity?
- Yes, you drop both of the YO's to create a hole in the fabric as part of the designK2 P2 does mean you knit 2 stitches then purl 2 stitchesThis creates an expandable fabric that will fit better.
- Q: Can anyone tell me what a stimp meter is?
- A STIMPMETER IS A 36'' LONG V-SHAPED ALUMINUM BAR USED TO ACURRATELY CALIBRATE THE SPEED OF THE GREEN AS A GOLF BALL ROLLS ACROSS THE GREEN.THEREBY ALLOWING MORE THAN A GUESS AS TO SPEED.OF THE CLUB HEADWHEN ADDRESSING THE BALL.
- Q: What is a Lightweight and durable material i can use to make moving appendages?
- you need about a trillion volts.thats how its done on subs.
- Q: When i take sandwiches to school is it better to wrap them with wax paper and then aluminum to keep it warm, because i have read many things about aluminum being bad for the health so i want to avoid contact with foodSo is wax paper a better alternative and safe to wrap around hot foodThanks.
- A pan that can withstand the high heat of the broilerA broiler basically toast things, melts the cheese on tops of something, its like the finishing touchMost pans that can go into the over are broiler safeIts just saying not to use a heat safe plate or something that delicatebaking sheet, cookie sheet, glassware pan, are all okGOOD LUCK!! Keep an eye on it, just in case!
- Q: Hello,One of my problems just state that the density of aluminum is 2.7 grams per cubic cmDoes that mean that you multiply LWH?!
- Perhaps there is more to the question than what you have givenTry reading it again to see what they are asking you to find Density is defined as mass divided by volumeDensity Mass / Volume or, DM/V _ Density is a material propertyIf you measure the density of an Aluminum door knob at your house, and I measure the density of an Aluminum cooking pot at my house, and an astronaut measures the density of his aluminum boots on the moon, then we all are going to get the same answer: 2.7 g/cm^3If you actually want to do this measurement, it is not hardYou need a piece of AluminumYou need to know its mass (weigh it!)And you need to know the amount of volume it takes up If it is a nice simple geometric shape, then, yes, you are exactly right: you can measure itLWH is exactly right for any squarish (cubical, rectangular, parallelogram) shaped chunks you might haveWhat if it were an Aluminum marble? You could still measure itIt would just be a matter of finding and using the correct mathematical formula for a sphere If it were a bizarre shape, like a small aluminum statue of the Greek philosopher Archimedes, say, then you could still find the volumeUse a measuring cupFill it partway with waterMeasure how much water is in the cupDrop the statue inThe water risesMeasure the total volume in the measuring cup nowThe difference between the before and after readings gives you the volume of the statueNow you would have enough information to calculate the density of the statueThis is a useful technique, say, if someone wanted to sell you a Gold statue of ArchimedesBy measuring the density of the statue you could tell if it was really solid gold or if it was just an aluminum or lead statue that had been painted with gold paint.
