- You could, but I don't recommend it. Aluminum siding is pretty close to a no-maintenance material. Add paint to it and you're going to have to paint it again in the future. Consider adding spray-on car wax, and apply it with a hose-end siphon-feed sprayer. That should bring back some of the original clarity to the color.
