Aluminium is a relatively soft, durable, lightweight, ductile and malleablemetalwith appearance ranging from silvery to dull gray, depending on the surfaceroughness. It is nonmagnetic and does not easily ignite. A fresh film ofaluminium serves as a good reflector (approximately 92%) of visible light and an excellent reflector (asmuch as 98%) of medium and far infrared radiation. The yield strengthof pure aluminium is 7–11 MPa, while aluminium alloys have yield strengths ranging from200 MPa to 600 MPa. Aluminium has about one-third the density and stiffness of steel. It is easily machined, cast, drawn and extruded.

Aluminium alloys (or aluminum alloys; see spellingdifferences) are alloysin which aluminium(Al) is the predominant metal. The typical alloying elements are copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, tin and zinc. There are twoprincipal classifications, namely casting alloys and wrought alloys, both of which are furthersubdivided into the categories heat-treatableand non-heat-treatable. About 85% of aluminium is used for wrought products, for example rolled plate, foils and extrusions.Cast aluminium alloys yield cost-effective products due to the low meltingpoint, although they generally have lower tensile strengthsthan wrought alloys. The most important cast aluminium alloy system is Al–Si,where the high levels of silicon (4.0–13%) contribute to give good castingcharacteristics. Aluminium alloys are widely used in engineering structures andcomponents where light weight or corrosion resistance is required

Q:Hey, hair is dry so i wanna lock in moisture from treatmentI heard its good to wash hair, leave wet, put treatment and flat iron it with aluminum foil.anyone tried it? and is it good for my hair?
your better off putting on a shower cap and taking a shower and washing it if you wantthe steam will lock in the moisture the flat iron does not!
Q:I planted English Ivy on the sides of my house-it grew well.too well actuallyWhen I pull the Ivy down, the quot;suckersquot; that the plant uses to attached to the aluminum siding leaves dark sticky marksAny suggestions on how to remove these marks without causing damage to my siding? Help!
I dont think pressure washing would help.ask your garden center or get some'Goo be gone' the only other thing I can think of would be some type of chemical solvent.to get off goo./residue
Q:Tonight I want to bake some chicken breast, some potatoes (small cubes), and some vegis - I only want to use one pan tonighthaha.About what tempshould I bake it at and for how long? I was thinking 350 - 375 for about 40 minutes but I'm not quite sure. Thanks!
I bake my chicken at 350 for 35 min, so that it doesn't dry outI don't know if your potatos will be fully cooked thoughTry pre cooking them.
Q:I'm cooking a couple steaks tonight and have limited optionsIt seems that I could grill it on a george foreman or broil itOnly thing is that I don't have a broil pan, and would have to use a cookie sheet w/ aluminum foilWould this work well?
If you broil the whole time on the cookie sheet, the grease will spit and smoke and you could have a fireWhat I do instead that makes an absolutely wonderful steak is to take that cookie sheet, cover it with foil, place your steaks on it, season them, and then place the steaks in a 400? oven instead for 10 minutesThen turn them over and cook them for another 10 minutesThen turn your heat to broil and broil them for 1-2 minutes only to crisp up the fatYour meat will be much more tender that wayEnjoy!
Q:From what i understand, the windows in my house are able to stay open by tension bars? if i am wrong, correct me please. Its beautiful in texas and i have been opening up all the windowsi came to one window to open and pulled it up, then it crashed downIs this fixable? if so, how.thank you!
Yes this type of windoww usually have a tension tube on each sideWhen you tilt the window out you can see the aluminum tube that is located in the jambIf it is broken it can be replacedThere is a screw that holds it in placeYou can also adjust the tension on these tubesIt is a twisting tool you will need to do this taskLooks like a crank with a hook on one end that you adjust the tension withIt twist in a circle to adjust for more tensionGet someone to explain how to use it where ever you get the cylinderI have adjusted the tension on one side to hold the window up.This is a little trickyGood luck

Round to the next highest canOne pound is the same as 16 ounces A)836 cans B.) 1,535 cans C.) 1,140 cans D.) 672 cans
hello,if you want to preserve the colour and flavour, after you boil them for 1 minute, place immediately in ice water, very important to remember that all things heated will carryover cook, this means that foods will continue to cook after you remove them from the heat.sometimes its neccesary to stop the cooking processas for what t do next, great in salads, pasta dishes with a little broccoli and parm cheese,or i like them saute,d with onion and butter, salt and peppergood luck
Q:How much electricity (in kilowatt hours) does it take to produce one ton of aluminum, not counting the energy required to keep the furnace hot?
Here are two pieces of data from the link below- Recycling 1kg of aluminium saves up to 6kg of bauxite, 4kg of chemical products and 14 kWh of electricity- Recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy and produces only 5% of the CO2 emissions as compared with primary production and reduces the waste going to landfill If recycling 1 kg saves 14 kWh, and it only takes 5% of the energy to recycle, then producing 1 kg of Al takes 14 kWh ÷ .95 14.7 kWhLet's round it up to 15 kWh per kg 15 kWh per kg x 907 kg per ton 13,605 kWh per ton.
