- Q: Explain the difference between iron(II) nitrate and iron (III) nitrate. What is the significance of the Roman numerals?
- Iron exists in 2 forms called Ferrous and Ferric. The numeral 2 represents the valency of Ferrous iron and 3 represents the valency of Ferric iron. Valency is the ability to react. Ferrous nitrate has 2 nitrate radicals while Ferric nitrate has 3 nitrate radicals to a single atom of iron.
- Q: Is Iron to rust a example of chemical or physical change? Is it even one AT ALL?
- Iron combines with oxygen to form rust according to the following equation. 4 Fe + 3 O2 --- 2 Fe2O3 Fe2O3 is called iron(III) oxide or rust This is a chemical reaction
- Q: It was wrinkled when I took it out of the package. Is it safe to iron it at least for the first time? It‘s 100% cotton, but I don‘t want to ruin a $45 shirt so I thought I better check first.
- Instead, hang it in the bathroom then run a hot bath or take a hot shower and hang it in the humid room. That should get rid of the worst of the wrinking without ironing. edit: kim beat me to it :)
- Q: I’m taking supplements how long does it takes to get an over dose of iron? I’m taking at between 200% and 300% a day. Because, I read that some of the iron taken doesn’t actually get absorbed by the body and also believe that I might be deficient. So what I’m asking is how long would one continue taking iron before it becomes detrimental? Thanks
- Iron damages the liver while overdosing or if it's not wanted. Also Vitamin E dietary supplements will have to NEVER be concerned about Iron on the grounds that specified mixtures of the two can also be detrimental. Now it could now not be deadly, but it surely could do everlasting harm to the liver and reason demise ultimately. Here's what a dietary professor in school informed me. There are two types of iron out of your meals. Hemoglobin iron and non-hemoglobin iron. Hemoglobin iron comes from purple meat. So if you happen to consume meat a steak as soon as in a whilst could aid. Non-hemoglobin comes from greens and Vitamin C{Don't overdose on C both and do not concentrate to people who say you'll be able to} can develop the absorption of non-hemoglobin iron from greens in many instances two times as a lot. One meals I did a study record in school on is Spirulina. I noticed a record that during a double blind research in a few nation like Bulgaria they took 2 hundred ladies for his or her scan. one hundred got placibo{Empty pills} and one hundred got three Grams of spirulina in line with day. The one's that took placibo stayed the equal and the only's that took Spirulina day-to-day went from eight.nine% iron of their blood to thirteen.nine% in 30 days they usually had been now not viewed anemic. This is from reminiscence and I shouldn't have the record useful. The onlt warnings I ever noticed on Spirulina is that it is prime in amino acid L-Phenylalanine that's in our meals certainly, however a infrequent few are allergic to it and it has Vitamin K so it is not for the ones on blood thinners. Write me with ANY wellness questions!
- Q: Rowenta doesn‘t any longer seem to be reliable. Believe it or not I am halfway thinking of a mid-level to top notch Panasonic iron. Panasonic seems to be building them right. The other names if you look at the reviews and the customer service, its nothing to write home to mom about. I would be interested if you can recommend a brand either you or someone close to you have had and the iron doesn‘t leak, short out and doesn‘t become the cool iron after a few months. Thanks.
- I'm not sure there are so much better and worse irons. I used to think rowenta's were great, but they are very expensive, rather chunky and heavy and to me, don't seem to out perform other irons. For me, the best iron is the least expensive iron that meets my needs. I tend to space out that the iron is on, so I want an iron that turns itself off. I want one that has a range of settings including steam, and it's helpful, but not necessary, that it spritz water. I mostly only use irons for sewing and have owned a number, usually more than one at a time and currently own three. The things that happen to my irons is they get dropped, they get used by other folks on inappropriate things or using bad settings and spoiling them or they get so minerally or the finish wears off the face that I don't want to use them any more. It's mostly death by dropping, repeatedly though. I've never ever had a problem with them shorting, leaking or not getting hot. Iron technolody is just not that complicated, and with using distilled water (a must for with my minerally water) my irons can last for decades, despite almost abusive use when I am sewing a lot. Reviews on irons? Please. They get hot. You press things. It's not rocket science. I even have an antique cast iron iron that sits on my woodstove that I could use in a pinch, if I had to. I suggest whatever they have at Costo or Sears. Both of those stores have good return policies, so if you seem to get a lemon, you can return it. I have purchased irons at garage sales for a buck that became my favorites.
- Q: How many iron atoms are in 2.500 g of iron (III) phosphate?
- Iron(III) Phosphate has the equation FePO4, meaning that there is one iron atom per molecule. Iron(III) Phosphate has a molar mass of 150.82amu. Therefore the number of moles of FePO4 is given by: number of moles mass of sample / molar mass 2.5g / 150.82amu 0.01658 moles of FePO4 Since there is 1 Fe atom per molecule, there must be 0.01658 moles of Fe atoms To calculate the actual number of atoms (as opposed to the number of moles of atoms) you use the calculation: number of atoms number of moles x avagadro's number 0.01658 x (6.022 x 10^23) 9.98 x 10^21 atoms There are 9.98 x 10^21 atoms in 2.5g of FePO4
- Q: How to Season A Cast Iron Skillet?
- Unless you have a skillet you found at a yard sale or inherited, seasoning it probably won't do much. Old cast iron had a very much less perfect surface that that cast today, so the tiny cracks in it would readily suck up oils that you heated in it, which then formed a wonderful non-stick surface after cooling. You need never scrub such a pan, they will just wipe clean with a hot soapy cloth. If you HAVE an old pan that some idiot has scrubbed the seasoning off of, just smear the surface of the whole pan with olive oil, and bake the pan in a hot oven for 15-20 minutes. Allow it to cool, and repeat the process.
- Q: I‘m rather stuck on this question:What mass of iron(II) sulfate would be needed to provide 28 grams of iron?I know that the mass of one mole of iron(II) sulfate is 152g, but I‘m not entirely certain of the question. All posts are appreciated!
- that is FeSO4. The Roman numeral II shows that the iron is in the +2 oxidation state. as a results of fact the sulfate anion is in the -2 oxidation state, there are one among each of them to balane the costs (internet value 0). Now take the atomic mass of each element and multiply it via the style of atoms of that element and upload all of them as much as get the formula mass for FeSO4. Then multiply that via 0.354 g/mole and you have have been given your answer: (sixty 5.80 5 x a million) + (32.06 x a million) + sixteen.00 x 4) 161.80 one g/mol 161.80 one g/mol x 0.354 mol fifty seven.3 g FeSO4
- Q: MOst of the iron medicines given to mostly pregnant women prescribd by the doctors are attracted by magnets. it means it contains elements of iron. How human body will digest these medicines. vegetables and fruits also have components of iron which are useful sources of iron for balanced diet. these vegetables or fruits are not attracted by magnetsa so r easily digestible.
- Iron is the quintessential example of an element that is attracted by magnets -- in other words, it is the best example of a ferromagnetic material. Iron-containing tablets are attracted by magnets simply because they do contain iron. Iron is considered an essential nutrient for most living organisms, because it is involved in respiratory processes involving oxygen transport. Pregnant women need extra iron for the nourishment of the fetus. Non-pregnant women of childbearing age require typically about three time as much iron as do males, because of their menstrual periods. Typically, only a small fraction of the iron in tablets is absorbed. The daily iron requirement is 1.5 mg per day for a male, 4.5 mg per day for a woman of childbearing age. We typically do not digest iron -- we absorb some of the iron made available through ingestion of iron tablets or iron contained in foods.
