- Q: Taking iron supplements or eating foods that have iron in it, which one is better ?
- Seriously; you have to be VERY careful about iron supplements. Excess IRON in your body can be very dangerous. If you havent been diagnosed by a doctor (which I dont think you have or you wouldn't be asking this question) then my answer is simple. Cereal. 99% of cereal has added iron in it. We recently watched an experiment on tv where the guy used a clear pitcher of milk and added about a half a box of Cheerios. Then he stirred it around and took out the cereal and used a magnet and you could actually see the iron granuals!! it is really iron (as in steel) which blew me away. Anyways; see your doctor or keep it simple. Good Luck! :)
- Q: I‘m doing an essay which requires in depth details about the role of iron in bacteria. i‘ve been searching for a while but can‘t find a place that goes into detail more than saying all things need iron.Any help would be appreciated
- Iron plays the same role in bacteria much as it does in humans (apart from its role in hemoglobin, that is). Iron acts as an enzyme cofactor. Many enzymes in bacteria (and every other life form on Earth) require metal ions to be active. We call these specific ions co-factors. That is why there is a whole field of study on proteins called siderophores. These iron scavenging proteins can rip iron away from the environment.whether that be a host organisms (like us) or some mud puddle. Iron, in some environemnts, can actually be a limiting nutrient for growth. For more information, I would google (or pedia search) the terms siderophore, lactoferrin, and transferrin. I hope this helps! Good luck!
- Q: What does the existence of iron-rich rocks during the Precambrian indicate about the evolution of Earth‘s atmosphere?
- the precambrian represents a VERY VERY large chunk of time. it is everything before about 540 million years ago. if earth is 4.6 billion years old, thats means the pC lasted about 4.1 billion years. there was not always abundant oxygen on earth. in fact, earth was very anoxic, and oxygen was a nasty, poisonous byproduct to the earliest entities of life. about 2 billion years ago, halfway through the pC, the first photosynthetic bacteria start pumping the O2 out into the ocean. iron in the seawater quickly reacted with any new oxygen to form that characteristic rust-colored iron oxide, Fe2O3. the iron minerals quickly fell out of suspension, causing the notorious banded iron formations (BIFS) however, since there was a limited amount of iron and an exponentially increasing amount of free oxygen, eventually that chemical sink was used up and O2 was able to accumulate. organisms at the time either had to adapt to being tolerant of oxygen, die off, or take refuge (e.g. the organisms that now live by deep ocean thermal vents). so, for your answer, we really only see iron-rich rocks during the later half of the precambrian. it documents a time where the oxygen produced was being locked up into iron-oxide minerals instead of accumulating in the ocean (and thus the atmosphere because of mixing). it was only once all the iron was oxidized that the O2 crisis set in and free oxygen began to accumulate.
- Q: Tag Team of Marvel Super Heroes vs. Tag Team of DC Super Heroes. Battle of Millionares of Tag Team.Who would win and why?I‘ll say Iron Man and Iron Fist
- Iron Fist solos. You guy's know how much I hate to admit when Batman loses, but he just can't beat Danny. Both him and Oliver would hold their own though.
- Q: And which foods are high in iron?
- You have to see your doc for a blood test to know if you are low in iron. Green leafy veggies are high in iron. If you think you may be anemic then see your doc and get this checked out.
- Q: I say Iron Man
- Iron Man. Even if Spider-Man was wearing the Iron-Spider suit that Iron Man made, he'd end up losing. Also, Iron Man incorporated his own spider sense into his armor and he can effectively nullify Spider-Man's.
- Q: Who‘s better? Why? (Actually make a point) did metallica copy iron maiden? What‘s your no 1 song from metallica and iron maiden? Thank you :)
- It's like asking Angel Witch vs Kreator. You cannot really compare those bands in terms of who is better. Iron Maiden is traditional/NWOBHM while Metallica is thrash metal (later heavy/hard rock). Both bands are really good musicians in their own genre. I think that Iron Maiden could be better because they made a bigger influence on the whole of heavy and thrash metal, including bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Desstruction, Slayer and many many more. I don't think Metallica copied Iron Maiden, because their music sounds very different. Metallica got influenced by Venom, Iron Maiden, Diamond Head etc. You cannot really say they copied Maiden because you can see a lot of Venom influence in their music as well. Favourite songs: Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name Metallica - Hit The Lights
- Q: I have new cotton shirts that need ironing n I am worried that if I use an iron the heat from it may cause the shirt to shrink. Is it possible to iron a 100% cotton shirt that has only been washed in cold water n never been dried without shrinking it?
- Yes it is but do not use the iron too hot use it on a cool setting first then you might increase the heat a little.Good luck with it.
