- Q: I am on home oxygen and my air hose keeps kinking up. How do I stop that?
- Since this could be a Life Threatening Situation you should speak to your Doctor and the supplier of your Medical Oxygen equipment BEFORE changing anything. They have experience with YOUR situation and can make suggestions accordingly. If you do not Twist or Severely Bend the tubing by over tensioning it, as would happen if you pulled on it when it became taught, it likely should not be kinking. Therefore try to adjust how you treat the tubing in those situations to avoid that problem in the future. Alternately, if the strain is caused by a length of tubing that is too short thus restricting your movements to the point of kinking, a slightly longer piece of tubing might be in order. (CONSULT your Doctor about the appropriateness BEFORE changing the length of the tubing.) In the case of many of the clear plastic tubings, a given size (I.D. / Inside Diameter) is available with more than one Wall Thickness. A Thicker Wall will make the tubing less likely to kink or crush out of shape, but will be stiffer and heavier.

- Yes, but the temperature must be well controlled. The purpose of the water heater with the electric heater should be to prevent water from freezing!

- What do you mean by go stale? Smell bad? Become contaminated with organics from the tube? I would think you would also need to specify what kind of plastic that makes the tube to have a chance to answer this.
- Q: can you use rubber tubing to make moonshine?
- You could but real rubber would melt from the heat. Plastic tubing should be avoided because alcohol will leech chemicals from it. Best to use copper, which coverts some bad tasting stuff to better tasting stuff. You could also safely use stainless steel, glass, ceramic. You should avoid brass, unless you know the lead content of the alloy. Cheers.
- Q: now don't tell me to go to he** or mind my own business.....I know there are alot of horse people on here......but I was just wondering if there are any on here who would question the human-ness of working these horses until they are panting and snorting and jumping.....and some missing the jumps and smashing their hooves into hard plastic tubes? Just curious.........Just want honest opinions............I really don't think, in my opinion (and everyone is entitled to their own) that many of these horses even want to be there.......(at the shows).........thanks for answering
- My horse loves to jump and I dont like to. As soon I bring her in the arena she runs for the jumps. And the jumps have pvc pipes on them that fall right down if they only slightly touch them. Sarah
- Q: ...little grinding bits come in.The seal can be O.D. or I.D. and needs to slip on and off fairly easy, just like the seals in the tubes that contain the littler grinding bits Dremel makes.
- 1 piece of heat-shrink tubing to insulate your solder connection between EL wire and stereo wire (RadioShack) 1/2 6x32 clear polycarbonate screw to hold end bushing in (this is a recent addition, because the end bushings have come out of some of my blades when they are dueled with. I think I payed about $10 for 50 screws.) hot glue, or silicone for end of blade super glue to glue in top and bottom bushings Note: I don't really like RadioShack all that much. I have a much better electronics store locally that I use that has a better selection and cheaper prices, but you can't order from them online, so I know you should be able to find what you need at RadioShack) That's just for the blade.

- Metal tubes are not necessarily better suited. It is application dependant. They are more robust meaning in general they can support more pressure. Copper is an excellent thermal conductor. Plastic is lighter à, can flex much more… If weight is no issue, then for sure go with copper! It also depends on very many factors like temperature, pressure, chemical compatibility... - Q: My husband and I hadm made steak and eggs for breakfast this morning with our left over steak from Christmas day. It was a large piece of filette mignon (sorry for the spelling if thats wrong) when he cut into his it he pulled.out a long clear plastic/rubber tube!! Clearly not part of the animal at all... it looks like.an air tube or something. About 2 inches long. . Its freaking me out! What should we do about this?? - Take the offending product back to the store with the receipt and get your money back. Don't invest much thought into it, nor draw conclusions about all meat, as this is a rarity. I go back with a bad piece of fruit, set it on the counter with my receipt, get the money and spend it on something else. There is no drama to it. It is business. Meat is handled elsewhere, not at the store. They do it at the distribution center. If you want good meat, prime, and individually cut, go to a good butcher in your local community. If you didn't keep the receipt and the packaging, there is nothing to do. Consider it a lesson learned.
- Q: Should I use them or take them off. They are currently on my strings, but my two lower strings sound really bad.
- The purpose of these plastic tubes is to prevent your bridge from being damaged. As we violinist know,the violin needs constant tuning and if you are using gut strings,would react weirdly to the physical environment should it change. The plastic tubes are to prevent your bridge from being cut by the strings especially by the E string which is very thin.Normally I take off the plastic tubes on the lower 2 strings but I think its okay if you don't too. I don't think it will affect the sound though.Maybe your strings are new so they haven't really settled down yet.Different strings when placed newly create all sorts of odd sounds.I particularly hate the Dominant ones as they have that metallic edge in the sound when its just placed.
