Q: Thinking of using two hoist to raise/lower a 45' long load (rolled up gym mat). Don't want one to run if the other should quit.: electrically, just run them off the same switches. Better if you use some sort of current sensors that sense if one motor stalls, and then use that signal to stop both of them. A bit complicated, involving relays and electronics. Best would be a mechanical link of some sort, but can't think of one just now.

Q: Well guys, I really want to decommision my 2003 E46 BMW 330i and preserve her in my garage for decades to come. Q: It is a quarter ton hoist and i'm assuming it needs 3 phase power judging by the 4 prong twist lock plug, i live in the country and can not get 3 phase service. Is there any way to safely operate this on single phase, thanks: NO ! YOU NEVER RUN A 3 PHASE HOIST WITH SINGLE PHASE POWER DIRECTLY,UNLESS YOU BUY A 3 PHASE GENERATOR TO POWER IT.

Q: in a few week im going to try to take out my 1999 cobra engine out but i have a problem. I cant seem to find a place where to attached the hoist.I would appreciate your guys help.: you can buy engine hoist plates or brackets from your local auto parts store and bolt them on anywhere. try to buy two brackets and bolt them on to your header locations on both sides of the block.i have also seen guys remove the front K-member and raise the car up off the motor. just keep an eye on all your electrical connections what ever way you choose to remove it.

The vehicle will be running for appx. 15 hrs.: Someone must be present at all hours to shut down in case of oil leakage or coolant leakage which will destroy engine, Trans fluid monitoring required also. As long as monitoring is taking place all will be fine. Do not crank it, accelerate it then leave it alone for any length of time. You will have a detonation if it runs out of any fluids.
