- Q: I have an lcd monitor that shows a fuzzy red color wherever it should be black. But the thing is, this only seems to apply when the computer is booting up. Once it's loaded the OS from the hard drive the colors are fine, even black. I know this is not a video card issue or anything since it also happened on a junk computer that I had lying around (I know its video card is fine because I tested it on another monitor beforehand). So here's what happened when I hooked up the old box:1: Hooked everything up, turned it on, the entire screen is a fuzzy red.2. Stays that way until the Damn Small Linux cd I had was booted up.3. All colors look fine (even black), but then I notice that there's a small area of the red fuzz all the way across the top.What could this be? Is there a way to fix it? Or is my monitor now junk?Please don't say this is a video card issue, I have tested for this many times.Thanks
- When monitors start to lose its color and turn to some tint/fuzzy it means it starting to go bad. But there things you can try like checking the connection to the computer to see if it loose or shorting which also cause the same problem, jiggle the connection to see if it change. Also you can do a test on other monitor to check if it has the same problem, and to make sure you don't have a bad video card.

- that doesnt sound right, i bought a 22 LG monitor for Gaming and when i got it it said that i should have a life of 40,000 hours or somethign like thatyour monitor really shouldnt fade within a couple of years, and turning your monitor on or off will not hurt it, i always shut mine off if im going somewhere real quick or doing something else.sounds like you got a bad monitor, hope you can return iti would call and complain they should send you a new one.
- Q: hi, about 2 days ago my lcd monitor turned a light blueish color, i can still see everything but it's quite annoying, i tried fixing it yesterday and it worked fine at the night but when i shut it down and turned it on again today, it turned blue again. - It has to be a connection problem. Check to see that the cable is connected directly into your computer and not loose in anyway. It could also be a connection problem from the cable to the back of your monitor. If possible, try a different vga/dvi cable. If that doesnt solve the problem, the problem could lie in your monitor.

- You can usually go to your local monitor repair guy and get him to order you the parts directly from acer. I broke my plasma TV and i repaired it myself, i just got the parts from my local guy. Try calling acer and look for a certified repair center and call 'em.
