- Q: i would like to ask is it worth it to buy lcd monitor for my pc use? I heard they say that the lifespan of lcd is 50000 hours is this true?I also heard that lcd is so bright that it strains the eye, is this true?How does an lcd get dead pixel and how to prevent it? Is it true uninstalling your videocard will get rid of the dead pixels? Is it necessary to have a new videocard to use lcd cuz mine is only nvidia 2.Is it ok to use an analog to digital adapter for the dvi of the lcd?What is the use of widescreen anyway? - an lcd is alot easier on the eyes and they last as long as or longer than a tube and the price is right these days . and dead pixels happen sometimes they go away by themselves sometimes u gotta live with them and sometimes u get lucky and get a clean one my 19 has none and was cheap i love it
- Q: I’m a computer teacher and teach in a lab that has 25 computers. The computers are side by side for the most part. They are all new LCD monitors. I had this problem with the old CRT monitors, but thought that the new LCD monitors would have some type of filters that would eliminate such interference. Is there anything I can do to rectify this problem?
- LCD monitors are completely immune to the problems of CRT monitors. When you say wavy, are you talking about vertical waves or horizontal? Are they standing waves or do they drift across the screen? Are the waves luminous waves or color waves? Are they ALL experiencing this problem? Of those with the problem, are the patterns identical and synchronous or are they independently wavy? Are all the computers identical systems? Do all the computers share a common power source? You say you're a teacher, which makes me take this shot in the dark: Does your institution also have a radio lab (I.e.: a class capable of producing a strong source of EMI)?
- Q: can you fix a backlight on a lcd monitor? i got a comcrap wf1907 lcd monitor from a friend tht found it outside his work. i went to turn it on and it was working ok but it was flickering a bit. after leaving it on for a few mins it just shuts off, i can turn it back on for a sec but it goes off again. when i was messing with the setting on the monitor it was showin like 10,000 hours on back or somthing like that which is kinda ridiculous. 400+ days of leaving it on LOL. so im just wonder if its even the backlight and or if it could be fixed or worth fixing since it is COMCRAP

- Although the LG is better than Acer but LG need more repair. Think carefully I recommened Samsung monitor, they r pretty good.

- LCD monitors usually bring both option DVI(digital) and dsub (analog). Instead of plugging it in the DVI port just plug it as if it was a CRT monitor (analog). Very few monitors come now only for DVI. DVI just provides a better picture for LCD monitors but DSUB works well with it.
