Q: How do they ventilate subway tunnels when they are building them? Obviously they cant use just electric vehicles to create stations and tunnels. TBMs are electric but they must use excavators, loaders, etc when building stations beneath the surface. How do they ventilate these tunnels?
There are several methods that have and are employed to make tunnels.1 Why do you feel it is obvious that electric machines cannot be used? Tunnels are the type of spaces with limited air that are ideal for the use of non polluting vehicles. Rather than say We have to make pollution, how can we move it somewhere else engineers have asked, How can we not pollute the air. Subways are electrically powered. Modern tunneling machines are probably the very largest electric vehicles.2 Some of the machines have their own power stations located outside of the tunnels and some of the machines will use a grid connection. In most pictures of tunneling you will notice either a conveyor belt or a railroad removing debris. Both of these are also easily electrified. Formerly shafts were sometimes run to the surface for removing debris. And this may continue to be a solution for ongoing operations. There is an island in the middle of the East River in NYC outside of the UN that was formed from tunneling debris for the #7 subway line.3
Q: What do excavators usually do?
All those who used to use a lot of manpower were replaced by excavators. Because the use of excavators is much cheaper than using labor. A medium-sized excavator's workload is equivalent to about 300 of the manpower per day. 300 people *60 yuan / day =18000 yuan / day, and excavator work day will not pay more than 2000 yuan.
Q: Working in Dreamweaver want to give my pictures effect like in the link below. Please check when i roll over my mouse on any pic it comes in bigger size. How can i do that?
easy - there's a function for it in dreamweaver: just select the image you want to change and give it an instance name, to make things easier. now select the image of the menu item, and open the behaviours panel. select the swap image option, then its pretty self explanetory, select the image you want to swap (the one that you named) and then select the new source. You can easily get help on swap image, and most other functions in dreamweaver by hitting f1
Q: my hydraulic excavator SK04 is facing a sudden drop of pressure just after the engine heated up. Initial measured pressure was 4000psi but after half an hour drop to 2000 psi. Main release valves readjusted but no effect. The Arm Boom drop by itself to the ground even without opration. It occurs about a few hours later. Entire excavator has lost its power after engine heated up.
leaky control valve or leaky pistons. replace o-rings
Q: Didn't really know how to word the question. Anyway I want to have the mini excavator delivered to my house and picked up as I don't have a big truck w a trailer.Where I want to dig is about a mile down the road and about 200m from there into some woods on land that I own. The terrain is pretty smooth but its a normal wood floor with lots of sticks leaves etc and can get a little bit hillyWhat I want to know is will I be able to straight up drive the excavator from my driveway to that location and back, or will that be too rough of a drive? And how fast do they drive?Side question, do they come with models with attached headlights as my work may carry into the darkThank you very much
You don't need an hour lesson but ask them to point out what every lever does and just go to town. You'll get the hang of it in no time, just like playing in the sandbox when you were a kid.
Q: About to do some excavation in Utah will be digging a 16x56 hole with excavator 8 feet deep that has to be on grade im only use to ground in Virginia.. so is the ground near Salt Lake City Utah hard? or is it sandy? i've heard both
Better bring some dynamite if you have kaliche deposits, which you probably will. Otherwise sand, rocks and gravel and not much different from the neighboring states. But the kaliche, a native clay, is like granite when it's dry.
Q: Is the CAT 320E suitable or is there another better Excavator? The 324E?
Suitable for what? In my experience, CAT320 a a solid general purpose excavator. There are larger models, but 320 will fulfill just about any excavation task. It can also be outfitted with concrete breaker or concrete shears.
Q: My truck smokes a white or blue color, even when it is warmed up. Should I just turn the fuel up a little or is there something else like timing ect...? Also, when I start it up, sometimes it will run fine and then randomly start shaking and stall out and will be SUPER hard to start. I use this truck for mostly just towing little things such as new holland skid steers, compact tractors, mini excavators, and many other things. It has been very reliable I would just like to get this problem resolved soon during my quot;slowquot; part of the season. Thanks!
Hi White smoke is coolant. Or a cold engine. Blue is rings. Black is over fueling.
Q: does it help cost that i dont need an electrician, i own the property already, and i have a cheap excavator? or are these just minor things?i'm extrememly new at this and Im trying to cut costs if possible. and are wood floors cheaper than having carpet put in? any answers to one or all of the questions are greatly appreciated!
Beware of the hidden cost of doing it yourself. Being an electrician is not the same as being a subcontractor and certainly not a general contractor. As a home owner, you do not buy as cheap as the general contractor. You cannot coordinate the subs the way the GC coordinates it. Getting every one on the job in the right schedule takes knowledge and clout. If not it is lost time and money. So you build a little and tear it down a little and every time you do that it cost you. Now while your fiancee has to make a choice between paying attention to the house (like pulling permits, ordering materials, waiting for inspections, chasing after subcontractors who doesn't show up etc), and his real job, his earnings takes a beating as well. I suggest your fiancee talk to a general contractor he works with and negotiates a good deal. He can still do the electrical part but let the GC handles the rest if this is your first time. By the way, carpet is a lot cheaper. Wood of course looks good. It depends on your budget and personal taste. If money is tight, do carpet now and later put wood in when more money is available. It is fun when you are chasing a dream. Good luck.
Q: A friend of mine has found an antique in Iran and he wants to sell it outside the country, is this legal. the antique is not from a museum.it was excavated.by the way, the folks who found it were Iranian not foreignersmy question is- is it legal to auction this outside the country or do we have to hand it to a museum
You need a permit. You will probably not get one. 'It was excavated' is no defence at all. Neither is the nationality of the excavators. If it was legally excavated in a properly conducted archaeological dig, then it would have gone to a museum anyway. Now - I've told you this, so your friend can do what he or she pleases. I note that this friend did not ask the authorities - maybe because you - sorry, I mean this friend of yours - knew what the answer would be. That said, I personally think these laws are too restrictive. If there are enough of this particular object around, why should it bother anyone if some of them are in private hands in foreign countries?
