Q:A crew built this huge crane to build an office building next to my house.... There is a huge flag hanging from the top of it.... Why does the construction company do this???
Wind becomes an issue when lifting large loads with a crane that has a long boom. On some large cranes you may see an anemometer near the end of the crane's boom. The crane operator will usually not make certain heavy lifts if the wind speed is too high. If the crane does not have an anemometer, they may be using a flag to tell them the direction of the wind and to give them a rough estimate of wind's speed.
Q:I have to create a crane to support a dead load for my Engineering Technology class. It can be made out of only 1/8 inch balsa wood and wood glue, and is going to be graded by the ration of weight held to structure weight.Could anybody give me some suggestions as to how to go about designing this thing? I already know most of the basics, but if anybody could give me some specific tips, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Not enough information because a crane can be many shapes and have various forms of anchoring or counterbalancing the load. If you are not allowed to anchor to a base and can't use weight to counter the load (if all balsa) then you have to create legs and lift the load between them - Basically the design will need to be triangles in truss to take the compression and prevent twisting and a long upper piece in tension to act like the cable you don't have. I would make two legs that are each 3 sided trusses that meet at the top and have a single rod across the bottom to keep them from spreading. Then I would make a longish beam with flat triangles for stiffness and use a few uprights to position the tension rod. Hang the weight on one end and push down on the other so it pivots on the short legs.
Q:The war is during 1899, and it's not the Spanish-American war. This isn't assignment, I'm just curious to know.
Sounds like War to me According to the black and bare lands, with women and babies weeping , etc. A person in the midst of this upheaval..the only one it seems Evidentely was ask milions of questions of why Because he was the only one who asked Why? He did not know the answer but he was the only one who cared..to me this is the meaning of the poem Stephen Crane wrote some brain teasing material..Read In the Desert

Q:I need to know exactly how much weight they can lift also how much do they weight?how long is thier life-time?in what temprature they can work?does mosture do any harm to them?for installation , do they need foundation?the exact height and width?
You need to be more specific. The lifting capacities for container cranes varies significantly, as does any other crane. Some of the variation is based purely on load (horsepower) availability; some is based on speed (rpm) for lift/drop portions of the cycle. Cranes like these operate year-round, at ports all over the world. Some ports have average ambient temperatures in the range of 45 C, with highs up to 60 C. Others can be as low an average as 10 C, with a low peak as much as -50 C. Moisture will, over the long haul, harm them - they're metal constructs, and thus are prone to oxidation. Using corrosion-resistant materials and/or coatings will certainly prolong their usable lifespan. The crane drives (electric motors and power electronics) are also susceptible to moisture and other contaminants. All true dockside cranes require some sort of permanent foundation; it's usually part of the pier construction itself. However, there are portable cranes that operate without one. There is also more than one crane manufacturer out there - all will have their trade secrets that will make each look a little different than the rest. It will generally also reflect in their operation parameters, and in their expected life cycle.
Q:i read this comment on youtube about people making 1000 paper cranes for japan is this a real thing like can i make paper cranes and mail them to some place if anyone knows the details you would be helping me out because i already started making paper cranes and its such a small but beautiful thing plz help
nicely first of all, i notably advise that purchase some Anti-Pope spray basically in case you have jesus christ knocking at your door. Then i opt to advise which you're making a cake. ideally , a banana, because it quite is my typical. And deliver it to me in the mail. via now, i'll bless you that your place and family individuals besides as acquaintances, are all wanted nicely and which you're no longer killed from one in each of your paper cranes stabbing you in the attention. I additionally advise getting life coverage. God purely is familiar with how sharp paper is and it rly rly hurts. Then devour some poultry, Avacado Sushi via fact each physique is familiar with it quite is techniques nutrition. I end off via commending you and via saying. See you on monday.

Q:crane operator?
Category: Cars Transportation Your 'question': crane operator? Possible answers that come to mind. Yes. No. They exist. And my personal favorite, WHAT is your question, and how does it connect to cars and transportation?
Q:its either Japanese, chinese, or okinawan, but which is it?
Didn't you just ask this question a couple of days ago? When you do this, you set yourself up to be reported. When you say the stature, do you mean stance and posture? I'm taking that as a yes... Here is the answer - there is no single crane stance. All the postures and stances you practice in Crane arts are Crane stances and postures. I am a student of White Crane. There is a Crane style that originated in Tibet that is actually related to the White Ape. Then there is the White Crane school developed in the Yong Chun Village in Fukien Province, China. The Okinawans where taught concepts of White Crane, some of the forms and the most important part of White Crane which is Sam Chien training - aka Sanchin. This is the Internal training which develops Iron Body.
