Typically these have sections the screw out to lengthen/shorten the overall fit and then a short section of spring to hold the rubber tips against the wall. If it persists in slipping, a square or tape or of the rubber antislip strips put on bath tubs or step edges will help. If this is just for the purpose of selling your house, why?
