- Q: Is there a paint that easy paints over metal garage door hardware? Ive seen many commercials about the paint that goes over plastic and all kinds of stuff. I should probably take a trip down to the Home Depot, but I was hoping you guys would have some suggestions! :)
- Yes, painting is the only option for metal door, I would say matt finish, weather resistant paint would be wonderful. The same brown as the garage door would be perfect I feel... Good luck
- Q: I just bought an 2009 4-Door Accord with dark grey polished metal color. Having the most difficult time deciding on which rims to get for my car. The following two links are the two I am considering. One is a 5-star and the other is a 7-spoke. Also, should I get a rim with the gun metal (dark Grey) finish, or polished aluminum? I don't like black or shiny Chrome rims---think they look stupid.
- If it was me I'd stick with the stock rims and save my money.
- Q: What are the specifications for aluminum alloy doors and windows?
- Recognition of Processing Drawing of Aluminum Alloy Doors and Windows 1: Technical Department provides drawings are internal view 2: balcony window standard size includes corner size, minus the actual size 3: open the doors and windows with a dotted line, open the doors and windows with solid lines 4: In the opening mode, the intersection indicates the position of the hinge
- Q: I live in an apartment complex, and my front door is metal. I recently bought a chain lock to attach to the front door. Since the door is metal is there any kind of special drill bit I will need to make the pilot holes for the screws?
- Your local hardware store or home improvement center will have self drilling screws made specifically for drilling into metal. Be careful not to run the screw in too fast and strip the hole. The one drawback is they don't come in colors. If you need a specific color you can always paint the heads.
- Q: what type of primer is used for metal doors?
- are they steel or aluminum doors and have they been previously painted? if they have been previously painted then all you have to do is give them a light sand and wash them , allow to dry. then apply 2 - 3 coats of an alkyd semi gloss a alkyd porch and floor enamel works very well also. if they are unpainted galvanized steel then give them a light sand and wash with some white vinegar, rinse off and allow to dry. you can use a red oxide primer but it is not needed just apply 1 - 2 coats of an alkyd primer under coater. then apply 1 - 2 coats of an alkyd semi gloss. again you can use a porch and floor enamel. i like to use a 4 inch fabric roller when i do them. make sure to wash the roller well and dry it before using to get rid of any small loose hairs. always give a light sand between coats and make sure you dust them off before painting. use a top quality paint and please don't let them talk you into using a water base paint at the paint store it will not stand up as well as an alkyd paint. if you are able lie your doors flat on some saw horses they will be alot easier to work on that way.
- Q: I want to install metal doors at my home. Is it a good decision?
- IF WELL INSULATED AND SECURE.
- Q: Aluminum alloy door how good material and good
- Thickness, hardness of the material strength, and so on
- Q: Im installing laminate and have noticed that the doors (4 doors) have a metal frame. Ive read everywhere that I should cut the bottom of the door frame (to lay the laminate underneath) with a undercut saw but how do I cut the bottom of the metal door frame?Ive thought about using a metal cutting blade attached to a drill but Im afraid of causing a fire!NOTE: two of the doors have several angles in the metal frame that stick out about 1-1.5 inch.I was told that a fein multimaster may do this cut.Thank you so much for your help.
- Interior door Thresholds, most often SPAN over flooring. Certainly there are transitional moldings sold specific to your purpose as well as going from Laminate to carpet; etc. I realize that isn't the concern suggested here. The Two verticals of a door frame should be cut, using a piece of laminate and under layment; simply as a height guide, and in such a case if the door frames are already installed There are Specific saws for that operation, if; as in your case you can't just use a BACK saw. I'm not at all familiar with the BRAND name you include; but the specific tool is designed for just this purpose and might be available to rent? I'd avoid the Drill notion, though not at all because of a fear of fire. I've also never used that tool, but want to imagine that it's much like a ROUTER, but with a saw blade attached, allowing the PLATE to sit on the piece of flooring as you cut into the door framing/molding. Steven Wolf No offense to RAW but the Q regards door framing; not THE door. Good notion otherwise.
- Q: a metal entrance door swings freely in the winter, but when the weather turns warm, the door sticks and seems too big for the door frame. Using your knowledge of the particle theory, explain what is happening.
- The door is made of metal and the frame is probably made of wood. Metal expands more than does wood when it is warm, so the metal door actually gets bigger and tightens up in the frame. From a particle theory perspective, the metal door expands more than does the wooded frame because its particles are closer together and pushes other particles more as they move or vibrate more and faster as they get warm.
- Q: Metal things may exist static ah, we usually touch a metal thing in winter may have static electricity, Party A now ask this question, ask how to consider the doors and windows to remove static electricity? I do not know ye get it
- Metal things are not easy to have static electricity, electrostatic charge will be released. If it is hand touch aluminum doors and windows have electric shock, there are two possibilities: 1, the wall has a leakage of electricity, resulting in aluminum alloy charged 2, people who have static electricity, not aluminum alloy problems, can not be resolved on the aluminum
