- Q: I'll cut to the chase.my iPhone still charges but the charger needs to be in a certain position for the phone to charge whereas it used to be just plug it in and the iPhone would charge. - No, not really (making sense that is) if you are using a wall/USB charger , there is no way that is it leaving battery acid residue, that if it is battery acid, is coming from the battery in the iPhone. Otherwise I will assume that the charger got wet in some fashion. So it's either a loose charging port, or a bad charging cable/wall charger. Anytime you have to hold a charger in a certain position or prop it up to allow it to charge, it will be either the port or the cable plugged into the port.
- Q: I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop, and I've had it for almost a year. A week ago I was using it and I realized the part of the part of the metal part of the charger that goes inside of the laptop was really hot. There were even some black scorch marks on the metal. - Do you still have the battery installed in the notebook? If so, it is possible that the faulty battery is causing the problem. Take the battery out and just run it direct off the charger, and you will probably find that the charger plug and charger itself will run cooler.

- no its not your charger your fried your phone's charging port you just described the classic textbook case using a non-approved charger on a device for an extended length of time. an approved charger carries the correct amount of current to the device. You can use another charger, no problem but to avoid your issue, the customer needs to know that the output frmo the adaptor is what is requried by the phone AND battery. To much juice and pop!. like in humans, drink to much alcohol especially grade A moonshine, and you'll get brain damage I suggest you call your wireless carrier and get free warranty reaplcement do NOT tell them what you do cause technically you broke the phone and warranty wont cover this, only a $50-$200 insurance repalcement deductible can. just tell them your charging port started to smoke last night when you went to charge it before bed and now it wil never charge just say that. next time, buy / use an approved charger made for your cell phone.

- Q: Hi having some problems charging my laptop. Problem started yesterday when it randomly stopped charging so i checked the part that connects and saw that the metal part of it had burn marks. Donno if that was caused by the laptop or the charger. The laptops insured but the charger isnt. The charger still works kinda if i hold the wire at a certain angle. So just want to know is it the wire or the laptop. The charger will cost to replace but id assume it was the charger but just wanted to be sure its not the laptop because i can get that replaced for free.
- Loose power port pin to mother board at back of lap top. Bad A/C adapter charger female connector plug. Bad A/C charger power converter. If lap top is working then the problem is with charger as if it over charged it would burn out the battery and mother board and even other components. Would suggest taking in to have checked as well as checking the A/C charge adapter. If the lap top is covered by warranty then the power adapter should be also if it came with the lap top, just ask if covered.
