- Darker objects absorb more light. Colors are not light and dark, lightness and darkness are independent of color. Example: a candy apple red ball look lighter in bright light or darker (even black) in low light. If I have candy apple red paint and add black paint to it I get dark candy apple red. The black (probably carbon) absorbs light and gives the sense of a darker color. If I add white paint (probably titanium dioxide) the color appears lighter light candy apple red and it is the white that reflects more light. But when you ask How come it's a bit like asking why is water that is boiling so hot. Things that reflect a lot are lighter because they reflect a lot of light.
- Q: I ran a red light the other day and I went on google earth and on that intersection there is only a tiny camera above the light post but nothing else. was it a red light camera?
- Traffic cameras are usually a big closed-circuit video camera looking kind of thing accompanied with a huge white box next to it that produces the flash for taking a picture of your license, VIN, etc. If there was a little box thing on top of the light post, that's probably for traffic control. My understanding of it is that there are little boxes on top of lightposts so that when an emergency vehicle approaches the intersection, the box will recognize the flashing lights and change the light to green for them.

- Well... light and sound are two different wave types. Light and sound are not dependent on each other, so light travels like if you shine a flashlight in a dark room, the light eventually dims. Sound dims as it goes forward, but I did a project on this and light really doesn't change anything for sound.
- Q: I have a couple questions regarding black lights. First off, are black lights bad for you your eyes? Also, if black lights emit UV rays, could you get a tan from them?
- Blacklights don't give off any more UV than a regular flourescent light. While you could get a tan from them, it will take a reeeaaaalllly long time. They are bad for your eyes though. In normal light your pupils dialate to let in only a little bit of light. this protects your eyes from the UV rays. With black lights since don't give off a lot of visible light, your pupils stay wide open, and lots of UV gets in.

- Q: I have a 2000 Honda CR-VThe back, driver's tail light doesn't turn on. I replaced the bulb, which was when I noticed that the break light and the tail light are both the same light--however, the break light DOES work, but the tail light doesn't. This doesn't really make sense to me.Every other tail light works, except for that one. What could this mean? Is there something I'm missing?
- Your brake light and taillight are the same bulb however inside the bulb there are two filaments one for the brake light and one for the tail light. Replace the bulb and your problem will be solved
- Q: I have a 2001 Ford Mustang Gt, the brake lights are out, including the third brake light. I looked at the fuses (fuse 4133), they are fine and not broke, I then heard it could be the brake light switch do I replaced that as well. I had my girlfriend hit the brakes while in park and they worked! Then she hit the brakes again and they didn't work :(.. I checked then bought a continuity tester and and the light on the tester lit up on fuse 41 and that fuse 33 did not light up. I replaced fuse 33 with another 15 a fuse and it still does not light up when i test it so it seems that there is no power. Does anyone have any ideas as to why only that one fuse (33) does not work and how I can fix it so I can get my brake lights working again? Thanks

- Questions about light.? 1- what is light made out of Photons, and the system Universe that assigns them path, wavelength, grouping, and sequence. 2- is light made out of molecules No, but *virtual* photons hold the molecule together. 3- why doesn't light mix with air when a flashlight turns on It does. The air gets a tiny bit hotter and scatters a tiny bit of the light. But air does not interact strongly with light.
