Q: this is the first time for me buying tires. i have a 2002 dodge intrepid SE. i can‘t afford to buy super expensive tires, so i‘m wondering which ones to buy and where. my question is: what‘s the difference between passenger tires and performance tires? what would be good for my car?
A performance tire has been tested and has to have a speed rating posted on performance. Normal passenger tires are only guaranteed to perform at highway speed (usually the upper limit is 70) without failure. Speed rating does not mean that a tire will give better mileage or stand up to road hazards better than a standard tire. In my humble opinion the extra cost of performance tires cannot be justified unless you are actually going to be driving at high speed.
Q: What is meant by balancing a tire?
take it to a tire shop. the easiest way to explain it is. go look at a tire on the nearest car. you see that little metal piece on the edge of the rim? that is a counterweight. it should be about 1-2 inches long, and they have various weights. when a tire gets going fast, if it is not properly balanced (weight evenly distubuted) it will start to wobble. to correct this, they identify the heavy spots, and add weight to the light spots to keep the forces on opposite sides of the tire equal. hope that explains it.
Q: I recently got a flat tire and want the same exact tire back on my car.
I bet a dollar that your 2011 Cruze is running the Firestone FR710. $95 on tirerack, or not much more from your local Firestone retailer.
Q: How is the car tires packed and transported?
A lot of tire manufacturers are directly wrapped with a direct tire around the tire, and then paste the label on the tire surface can be. Generally were "people" shaped stacked in the container for transport, of course, there are many forms of stacking, not to hurt the tires.
Q: I have a mountain bike(brand new) but when I slam on the brakes the tire is always screeching. I did this once(I cant help it! I just like going too fast) but before I got to a halt, my tire just burst(Oh yeah, I bought the bike from canadian tire)
Yes the engine is attached to the trans. But if you buy a new engine it does not automatically come with a new trans When you buy a new stove it does not come with a new house or fridge. You are buying an emgine by itself, you have to install it and attach it to the trans
Q: So I‘ve always had problems with my tires on my bikes. I know I need new tubes for my bike, but today I pulled out 3 thorns out of my flat front tire. When I get new tubes, put them in, put air in the tires, will it stay full of air not leak or do I have to get a new front tire as well from the small three thorn holes? Oh, are their really strong tubes to get to prevent thorns from puncturing my tires?
make sure ur tire is clean with nothing puncturing through it and if ur tire is in really bad condition u probably should get a new one. and u dont need to keep buying new tubes just getting a $3 tire patching kit
Q: I bought a car with used tires , all of the tires look good and everything. The weather did get hot and for some reason the tires keep getting bumps on them? What can be causing this problem to happen?
Those bumps are caused by air leaking between the plies of the tire. This is a very serious condition - they can blow out at any time. If you are within thirty days of purchase, take it back and demand different tires. Otherwise, you need to replace them .
Q: i noticed that different tires had different patterns on them. some are all squiggly, others are different.why is this?
Tires with swooping grooves are for rain, tires with squigly lines are for snow
Q: Who are the poineers in manufacturing tyres ?
Charles okorder /
Q: Why some of tire need nitrogen?some are not?
Aircraft use nitrogen because it is inert and does not expand the tires in the wheel wells at extreme altitudes. Nitrogen does not expand at high temperatures and is used in race cars to maintain an even tire pressure. It is also comprised of larger atoms than plain air and is less prone to leak through rubber tires. For everyday road use nitrogen is a waste of money. There is no benefit to be derived from putting Nitrogen in a street tire unless you regularly drive at 150 MPH or faster.
