They pierced the part closest to my face first and pushed the needle through one side and into the tube on the other side. He put a cork on it so he could push the same needle through the second hole without the needle going straight through. He then did the normal method of hooking the jewelry onto the end of the needle and pushing it back through. That was painful too! He then screwed the balls on and cleaned up any blood and I was good to go! More information is that scaffold/industrial piercings are quite well-known to not be looked after properly so if you're thinking of getting it you need to make sure that you clean it every day with suitable solution and taking care not to knock it. :)
