Q: I work in downtown Atlanta, and they are doing some kind of work on top of one of the high rise buildings downtown with a big crane. I was wondering how they got that heavy of a crane there to begin with? Thanks ahead of time!
If they have more than 13 floors, in fact there is a 13th floor. People are just too superstitious for some buildings, like hotels to state them. It will skip from 12-14.
Q: I'm confused about one of the final scenes, where Seneca Crane is locked in the room with the nightlock berries. Does this mean that he is supposed to eat the berries and presumably die? Or is it symbolism of some sort of distaste in the way he ended the Games?
Yeah, basically President Snow has him killed. The berries represent this. The whole point is he goes into the room, sees the berries and knows he is being killed for allowing Katniss and Peeta to use those berries to cheat the system.
Q: Is a mobile crane allowed to operate in an inclined plane?
It has been my experience that cranes like to be level, and not operate unless they are level. But, I am no expert.
Q: Safety rules for tower cranes
Three. Check after shutdown3.1 after the tower crane has stopped operation, it is necessary to select the suitable position of the barrier and the middle of the track when the turret is turned and the arm to stop along the wind, and then lock all the rail clamps. All 3.2 tower crane rotary mechanism with a normally closed or braking device, in the stop after the operation, the driver must remove the handle, release the brake for crane in the wind blowing in under the direction of rotation.3.3, the hook should be lifted to the minimum distance from the lifting wall, not more than 5m position, hanging on the hook is strictly prohibited. Not to take reliable measures, not by any means, limiting the boom rotate with the wind.
Q: The cantilever part has to stay at least 6-12 inches off the ground.
Then how are you interlocking the popsicle sticks? Most projects like this allow for thread and glue. OK.. so you can glue them and, I assume, cut them. Use a truss system made out of small pieces of split sticks to build and strengthen the support of your crane and make that long arm out of a series of sticks that form an interlocking triangle when you look into the arm. Stagger the triangle pieces so that no two joints are in the same location and then glue small splints to the inside of the long pieces.at ecah of those joints. If you have no weight limit and the support column will hold it, consider filling the triangle with a coating of glue.. be sure to allow several days for it to dry. That way the glue will also add an element of strength Take your tme, use a strong glue if you have that option - like Gorilla Glue, ,and build it in sections. Be sure to let the glue dry fully before moving on to the next stage. For the triangle portion, you can use thread to bind the pieces into a triangle shape until the glue dries and then remove the thread and use light sand paper to remove any residue. for the counterweight of the cantilever, fashion a small box out of pieces of sticks and fill it with a dense glue. As the glue hardens and compacts add more glue. When the glue has fully dried, remove the sticks unless you are still within your 150 count. That way the glue serves two functios and your instructions do not prohibit this. Hope that helps
Q: Today, my boyfriend surprised me with an origami bird he'd made for me the night before, just for no reason. He told me he'd tried to make a crane but it got to be to complicated. I thought an was an incredibly sweet gesture, and I thanked him thoroughly. I was wondering if it would be nice to give him an origami something back? I found a really easy video on how to make cranes and I made one, but I don't want it to seem like I'm trying to show him up, I just want to show my gratitude. Would it be best to give him the crane, give him a different origami animal, or just let the whole thing go? Sorry if it seems like I'm over thinking this, I just really like him :)
i really dont think he would want a crane back... because he made that crane especially for you ^_^ and you should just tell him how sweet you thought it was that he made one for u =]
Q: please tell me where you found the info.
less then a yr i believe
Q: we have a project starting that will require a stack built 1km high in the air?How will they install this?
Build form the top, when they build these huge cranes, they build the top section, lift that up and build the next section underneath it, set it down to release the lift off the top section and lower it to the second section. Lift those 2 sections from the bottom, build the third section underneath it, and so on. You need to lift securely, like on all 4 sides for stability, and that leaves the corners free to build the next section.
Q: how do construction crews put up a crane?
They assemble it on a concrete foundation using a mobile crane. To grow taller, the top unit of the tower crane has a jacking mechanism that lets it raise itself up and insert another tower section.
Q: A 3000-lb wrecking ball hangs from a 40-ft cable of density 10 lb/ft attached to a crane. Calculate the work done if the crane lifts the ball from ground level to 40 ft in the air by drawing in the cable.
The total work done by the crane equals the potential energy gained by the wrecking ball and the cable; the potential energy gained is W = V_final = Mg L + ρ L g L/2 which is the final potential energy of the wrecking ball and the cable added together. In the case of the cable, you take the center of mass of it which is located right at the center (L/2). The result is then W = 3000*32*40 + 10 * 40 * 32 * 40 / 2 = 4096000 ft-lbf = (4096000)*(0.001285067) BTU = 5263.63 BTU
