Q: Hi,I want to be a Real Estate Developer and have a bachelor's in architecture. I will be going back to school soon. What Masters program should I apply for? Have in mind I want to be a R.E Developer. What masters program will benefit me the MOST??? :)
Real estate developers must have a wide range of skills, one of which must be financial, understanding the possibility of finding an area to develop that would be financially sound. Once found the land must be purchased and financing secured to develop the land found. Your plans, financial information must be submitted to a lender for approval. You would then hire an architect to make and draw the plans then a construction company to build the residential or commercial property. You would then hire a real estate firm to sell your completed project. Some developers would have a complete firm under one roof that would be capable of handling the entire project from the purchase of the land to the selling of the final product. My suggestion would be the financial or construction as a master program. They both are important elements in being a successful developer. There are some local schools where you could attend and after a short time, you would be able to successfully pass your state construction board test, thus securing your construction license. Finance would require time spent in the classroom, some home study or internet classes might suffice. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. FIGHT ON
Q: so yeah im from california. im only 19 im in college for a business major but i think it would be handy to have a real estate license but also to have the knowledge and experience of a real estate agent. Im just curious about the amount of class/time needed. The amount of Test/Final Exams taken to get it. I know its different in every state im sure but im more just looking for a broad estimate i guess. Thanks for the help
You need 120 classroom hours of education from a Utah approved real estate school, $147 and pass a state exam and a sales agent license is yours assuming you have not been convicted of a felony in the past 5 years and have no misdemeanor convictions involving theft or fraud. The education is all about getting you past the state exam and teaches you next to nothing about how to be successful. If you are decent in math you will find most of the 120 hours a complete bore. These are classroom hours, not semester hours, such that if you can schedule being in class all day you could knock out the whole thing in about 5 weeks. Taking a real estate class in Cali will not solve anything for Utah. After being in the business for as an agent for 2 years you can then take more required education and take another state exam to get your brokers license which would allow you to open your own real estate company.
Q: Okay I want to become a real estate agent, but I don't know where to start. So my question is, where do I begin? I am 14 and I am very smart (valedictorian) and I absolutely love math. What college should I go? Feed bak please what do you think any tips?
sooooo sorry if this dont help :( good luck!! :D
Q: I am looking to get into a career that doesn't require a Bachelors Degree and have been looking around at different options. One that I liked was a Real Estate Appraiser, now in this economy where there are a lot of foreclosures and houses that are on the market, would this field be the route to go or are there better options. Also is there a possibility to earn about 65k and up in my situation.
Just like being a real estate agent, almost all real estate appraisers are self-employed. The good ones do well, the lousy ones do not. If you are enthused about it, understand how to run a business, and are ready to put in the time required, you should do fine.
Q: Im taking the 75 hour required course for the New York Real Estate License and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what exactly I should focus my studies on. Im not looking for whats on the test exactly, but more of what certain aspects should I focus on that will get me more prepared to take the exam. Thank you in advance.
Hi Shea, The New York real estate exam is in a multiple choice format with questions that have been based on the 75-hour pre-licensing curriculum that you should have already taken. They choose the multiple choice, simply because they are easier for students to take and easier to administer and grade as well. In addition, you will be given 1.5 hours to complete the exam. They will require that you correctly answer a minimum of 70% of the questions to pass the exam. Your exam results will be reported simply as either passed or failed, they do not currently provide a numerical score. Real Estate Exams are typically broken into two different parts. The first part would be a kind of general and should cover key concepts, such as forms of real estate ownership, fiduciary responsibilities, and fair housing law. The second part is generally state specific and will ask questions which would only be pertinent to New York real estate law and regulations. Usually, any questions about state license law are covered in the state specific portion of the exam. Your exam will be administered through eAccessNY which is the states online terminal, a part of their website.
Q: I'm 21 years old and going to school to become a civil engineer. I am currently working for a engineering contractor company and have a lot of experience in the construction field.I've always loved real estate till the market got bad. I plan on getting my real estate sales associate license in January here in Miami, Florida by doing a 4 week course at a real estate school. Can I somehow tie the civil engineering to real estate career as well. Also if I get a job as a real estate sales associate would I have enough time to continue my schooling for my civil engineering degree?I am a people person and love to persuade people. I also believe I have a lot of wealthy contacts from working in the construction industry currently. Just want to get some feed back from you guys and see what you guys think. Thanks
The best path to take in this venture is: 1. Read books about real estate, specifically on the areas you want to concentrate on. 2. Try to get an internship, mentor, or work at a commercial RE brokerage and gain hands-on experience. Just a side tip, figure out where they are playing golf. Socialize and network. These are the top two priorities on your list if you're seriously wanting to learn what to do. Getting licenses is only the first step and classroom time is helpful only to a point.
Q: Hi, im 16 and still in highschool. When I get older I want to be a Real Estate Agent and like flip houses? What college classes should I do so a real estate agency would hire me? Archetecture? Or what?
Most colleges, even at the junior college level, have real estate programs that are specifically for getting a real estate license. Check out the local junior college.
Q: Here's how I qualify:-My Outgoing Personality-Having Asperger Syndrome, helping me be able to memorize facts & statistics-That drive and passion for something I love-Wanting to someday raise a family, while living in an ideal home after making sales on homesI'm also planning to take a real estate class at my local community college real soon. Let me know what you think, thanks!
You do not have to be 21, or at least not in some states. I received my real estate license at the age of 19 and have been/and will be working as an assistant until this summer when I will start being a full time real estate agent. Most likely a company will take you in, but keep in mind that selling expensive houses and gaining respect will be harder than you originally imagined, especially if you are just selling as a side job.
Q: Where would you go to college if you were going to be a Real Estate Agent?!
Determine the general requirements for becoming a real estate agent in your state. Though there is an exam you'll have to pass that may differ in every state, the general requirements to be able to take that test are the same. There are really just a couple basics. You must: Be at least 18 or 19 years of age. Be an US citizen. Have completed your required pre-license education (varies by state -- usually 3+ related classes).
Q: to become a real estate sales agent do they have to own properties. like what do they work as ? and how can i become one in the future. Im 17 yrs old ! please give me as much as infromation possible. Thank You
You do have to take a real estate course and pass a state licensing exam. Then you find a broker to work for. As a real estate agent you will list properties for sale and you will show properties to potential buyers. As a Realtor you have to belong to the Board of Realtors and usually the MLS. So, be advised that there are fees involved in becoming a Realtor. First, you have to pay to take the real estate classes, then you pay to take the real estate exam, then you pay to join the Board of Realtors and MLS. Also, you will split your commission with the broker or pay a monthly fee to the broker. Then you have to take continuing education each year and renew your license each year. The Board of Realtor fees and MLS fees are also yearly fees. Depending on where you live, you might do really well as a Realtor or you might not. It is not an easy job. You have to get out there and work it. Most people don't succeed in real estate working it part time. If you want to do this as a career then you have to put forth a lot of effort, like calling people who have their houses for sale by owner and try to convince them to list it with you, calling people whose listings have expired and try to get them to list with you, calling potential buyers, contacting people you know to see who they know who is looking to buy or sell, etc. There's also quite a bit of paperwork involved. There's paperwork for when you list a house and paperwork for when you sell a house. You also attend the closing at the lawyer's office with your clients. Real estate is not a Mon - Fri 9-5 job. You have to be available evenings and weekends or whenever is convenient for your clients.
