Q: who can tell me the number of fire alarm in US: AVOID copper fittings. Butane fire on copper gives bad, bad, bad gases. Look for brass usually machined. Q: A week ago someone broke into my 1991 Nissan Sentra and tried to steal it. They damaged the ignition cylinder and it is CRAZY expensive to replace for this car. Even if replacement was an option, I cannot remove the lock cylinder because they ruined it and I can't put the key in (at all) to turn it to the accessory position (needed to remove the cylinder, I've done a lot of research). My primary problem is: How can I remove the cylinder without the key? I've seen many topics about drilling it out, but I need specifics. OR How can I bypass the Steering wheel lock? But look at any pipe chart and you will see that dimension is approximate for every single type. For example, a schedule 80 steel or PVC pipe has a thicker wall so the ID is a bit smaller than that of schedule forty. The same thing applies to irrigation or drain pipe. . Standard fittings will fit different schedule pipe of the same type. PVC and CPVC are deliberately made different (PVC being a bit bigger OD and ID than CPVC than the designated size) to keep people tying them together in the same run. A piece of Half inch CPVC will actually slide inside a piece of half inch PVC.

Q: I have a hard wired smoke alarm that is beeping 1x every 30 seconds. I removed the cover and looked for a battery and could not find anywhere for a battery to be placed.just the wires that the detector is attached to. I have lived in this house for 7 years and this is the 1st time it has chirped. I tried to test/hush it by pressing the test/hush button on the cover.and it is still beeping. Any suggestions?: This is just my opinion, but as far as usage, tubing must be used in every case where O.D. dimension is important.That's why it's used in boilers and heat exchangers, because it must be inserted into the vessel through a hole, and so that dimension is important. The fittings used to join tubing are pretty limited. Above 1 diameter, pipe is almost always used for fluid transfer, because fittings (elbows and tees and stuff) must be used. At 1/8 to 1/2 diameter, you can use either to transfer material, but tubing gets a lot easier to work with as you go down in size.
