Press fitting system joins pipe without welding or bolting. The components fit by crimping through the use of a special pressing tool. An O-ring that is inserted in the fitting ends of the pipe ensures a leak-proof connection. Press fitting system is the trend of pipeline industry. Q:I was cooking earlier and my smoke detectors went off. I live in an apartment complex and have three alarms (one in the hallway, and one in each bedroom). My husband had to take the one in the hall and one of the alarms in a bedroom off and unplug the alarm completely. The one in the other bedroom at that time was not going off so he left it up. Yet, that alarm is blinking rapidly a green light. An hour or so later we tried to plug in the other two alarms, yet they won't stop going off once attached by a/c power. I can't figure out what I need to do, I am so tired of listening to this alarm and I am worried to unplug the only remaining working alarm. (even though it is flashing rapidly a green light)Any help is appreciated, thanks!: Sounds as though the detector is an AC power w/battery backup unit. Usually speaking: * it is connected to a house circuit (wires) using a breaker for a disconnecting means - you might need a competent electrician to shut off/disconnect the power to the detector for service/replacement * there is a battery to provide backup power * 'chirping' sounds are usually trouble indicators - battery needs replacement, sensor needs cleaning, etc. Prolly your best best is contact the detector manufacturer for assistance as we can only guess based on the info you've provided.

Q:I am wondering what everyone prefers. I am new to working with all of this. I want to be able to do collage pendants. I have done some research so I kind of know what I can and can't use with the different products. Like obviously nothing plastic with the Amazing Glaze because it will melt. But it says with the Amazing Glaze it will be slightly yellow after drying. How bad is it? I am using antique gold and copper plated pewter pendants. So a little yellowing would be ok, but I don't want anything to look dirty. Ice resin is nice but VERY expensive. A little advice would be fantastic!! Q:i was wondering cuz we were messing around with one we found and my boyfriend said to make sure i dont breathe it in. i didnt try to and did and it wasn't much but i was curious if that's why he said not to(he hates people getting high) i wasnt trying to by the way. i'm just curious.: The interconnect signals aren't standard across different manufacturers (and sometimes not even between different models from the same manufacturer). I'd be inclined to just bite the bullet and replace them all with the same model at the same time (then you know they'll work together). The wired interconnect models may never be standardized as it appears most manufacturers are moving towards the wireless interconnects (which probably aren't standardized either). :/

Q:A friend of mine gave me a used Mac Pro he found. Everything works fine except it has one of those annoying cable locks clamped on the back. He said he took bolt cutters to the cable to try and shorten it, but the lock part and a few inches of cable remain. I tried pulling on it and twisting it, but nothing works. I can't see a brand name on it, but its a combination type.: Co2 is carbon dioxide,which puts out most fires which do not have their own oxygen supply. and since it is a gas and not liquid it is safe for electrical. I would just be careful for liquid fuel since the force of the gas coming out can spread the liquid. IE a chip pan fire, with hot oil spraying you can be injured or spread the fire if not thinking, as in turning off the heat source. but the best in a car or home, a as long as you remember that also you need oxygen as well as the fire, so tackle and get out fast before you collapse, leave the real fires to the fire brigade. you endanger yours and their life's. If you are still not sure ask your local fire station they will help you understand

How do I get rid of the cat hair she put on it?: If you only need to stop the drip in order to solder the repair. stuff some ordinary bread into the pipe to temporarily stop the dripping. If you work fast, you will have enough time to solder the new piece on and the water will desolve the bread when you turn the water back on. Trmove the strainer on your kitchen spout before running the water so that any clumps of bread left don't clog it up. If that doesn't work or the drip is too heavy, use compression fittings for the repair.

Q:my smoke detector keeps beeping and its so fcuking annoying!!!its not set-up by batteries (by wires)its not old but not brand newi cant buy a new one we live in a apartment and its 4:30 in the morning!!theres no smoke or fire or anything like that!! What kind of system is it? It could be the shutoff valve is not completely sealing (IE a glob of glue where the valve seats) or other factors such as a valve packing leaking is possible, If it is a pressurized system you could make a soap solution and check your glue joints to see if they bubble or if it is possible to cap and drain the system you can fill it with water and then check for leaks.
