Q: After all the great talk about SharkBite fittings and how they are a quick and easy way to fix a water line, I am stumped on the pipe sizes.What happened is when I was in Lowes, I noticed their knockoff brand called GatorBite. It comes in 1/2 and 3/4 like Sharkbite. But anyone who knows about copper and pvc knows that 1/2 is actually 5/8 OD. So, a 1/2 copper pipe will not fit inside a SharkBite fitting. You would have to use 3/8 to get a 1/2 OD since the fittings are 1/2 ID.Can someone clarify this? I tried lining up a section of 1/2 copper to the GatorBite fitting and it was exactly the same size as the sleeve. And the demo display had some pipes hanging out of the fitting that you could pull out for demonstration. The copper pipr I pulled out slid right inside a 1/2 copper line. 3/8 for sure.: Ryback didn't start as a heel.

Q: Last night it went off at 3:40 am (of course). It scared the crap out of me and my daughter but there was no smoke. It was a chirp it was a full blown alarm and there was nothing. Q: Hello. I ve recently used a gas mask to go into a asbestos ridden area. However my clothes have been contaminated and so has my mask. How would I go about cleaning them safely? My mask and all clothes are in a garbage bag currently waiting. I am a college student so would prefer a cheap method to clean my clothes (most importantly my mask). Do I need to bring them to someplace special or can I do it safety at home? Am I safe to use the mask again if I remove the dust outside wearing another mask? If I were to enter the area again should I just use contaminated clothes? Help please!: Replace the door latch and check the alignment of the door hinges, depending on usage the hinge bushings wear causing the door to sag or drop low. This also prevents the door from latching properly. Could also try lubricating the latch assemby in the door (should be done on a regular basis with oil change maintanence)

Q: Okay, so I recently found out that I'm moving back to the US from south east Asia. My BFFaeaeaeae lives there and it's terrible being away from her! We see each other ever Christmas and Summer and practicality live at each other's houses when I'm home. So, i need ideas!Thanks!!!D: When it comes to any kind of pvc always use a primer and a glue. Pvc uses solvent weld joints or mechanical joints. First prime the fitting and the pipe then use the glue on both as well. Insert the pipe into the fitting and give it a 1/4 turn then hold it together until it stops pushing out. On the mechanical fittings for PVC never use teflon tape. Doing so expands the threads and makes it cross thread in the fitting. Instead use a product like rectorseal pipe joint compound. I use rectorseal 5 but thats just my preference. Doing these two things should eliminate the majority of your leaks if not all.

Q: You know the inexpensive, 9 volt battery operated smoke detectors. Should they be replaced on a regular basis? When I push the test button the alarm does sound, but should you still replace them every once in a while?: make the threads and drill the stainless the size as needed to accept the copper pipe the fittings are not necessary if you do that you may have to braze the copper elbow to mate an elbow or some type of fitting to accommodate the column .. instead of buying all that brazing equipment find a welder that will do those short jobs take you fittings to the welder [[ it costs less for you to go to his shop ]] . enjoy the spirits [[ you will have to give it away as the sale of the moon-shine is against the laws and ATF will not like you .
