Q: I had my car sitting in the driveway for 3 months, the battery had died completely; but when I tried to start it all I heard was clicking sounds. When I had the engine replaced the mechanic said I had to pay extra to buy a tranny because the engine locked up? Im wondering how when it worked fine last time I drove it..Can someone please explain to me what it means when a engine locks up.? What causes it .? What happens to the engine?
There are not a lot of tube fittings used in the USA with metric dimensions. Tube fittings are usually designed to MATCH the the tubing pressure rating class. My suggestion is to check out Parker Hannifin's websites as they are a major manufacturer for a full line of Brass and Hydraulic fittings and one of the largest manufactures of compression tube fittings and instrumentation fittings.
Q: I have a lot of excess rope (not used for climbing anymore) that can't be used to rock climb anymore. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it into a hammock, but I can't figure out how to weave it, how to do anything with it because i don't know how. I really wanna make an actual hammock, not just a survival hammock. if anyone knows a video or anything that would help I would really appreciate it if you could send me the link, or just explain what to do as specific as humanly possible.
This usually occurs when the water chemistry is on the acidic side (low pH). It eats out the softer areas of the steel pipe and eventually makes a pinhole leak that will grow bigger in time. The hole is actually larger inside the pipe than the outside. kind of like a volcano shape. If it is one or two holes they can be patched by covering the hole with a piece of rubbery material held in place with a hose clamp. When the holes get to be too many or too large, then it is time to replace the pipe. This is odd that it is doing it to galvanized pipe. Either the pipe was poor quality to begin with or your water is really bad. If the situation is caused by bad water chemistry, then it will occur again if you use copper pipes as a replacement. The best way to go is to either use PVC if allowed by code in your area, or get out the check book and get 316 stainless steel pipes and fittings.
Q: Designing equipment for shipment to China and they request metric pipe sizes. Where can you get metric pipe and fittings in the US?
I would go with the barbed/crimped sleeve connection system rather than the SharkBite (which is a glorified Swagelock type system normally used for tubing applications). My experience with Swagelock is that they work well when installed correctly, but can be very finicky to get leak-free (tubing has to seat all the way into the fitting; ferrule must fit squarely on the tubing; must thread the nut on correctly the first time and then neither over- nor under-tighten). Also, while a Swagelock fitting body and nut are reusable, the ferrule is a throw-away item you must replace. Though I've not used SharkBite, I have the same concerns since the design looks the same. The barb/crimp looks simpler/easier to get right. In either case, the most reliable method for installation is to have only dedicated runs and to NOT install any fittings in walls (for example, don't tee off of a line in a wall to feed two sinks). Every mechanical connection is a potential leak spot. The beauty of PEX is that you can run continuous lengths from source to destination, gently bending it as needed. You can't do this with iron, copper or rigid plastic. I've seen photos of PEX installations with loads of couplings and elbows in the wallsthis is lousy workmanship that destroys a lot of the inherent advantages of PEX. As the first responder noted, follow the manufacturer's instructions/recommendations wherever possible. Plumbing errors can lead to very costly damage, and most manufacturers are interested in making sure your use of their products is a successful one. Good luck.

Some locks have security measures built into the design that prevents if from being carded. If you have a normally keyed lock you have many options. You might look to the hinges, an open window, brute force, or drill out the lock. There are more subtle methods that are less appropriate for an open forum.
Q: I like vaping in my house. But if I vape in a room with a smoke detector will I set it off? I usually vape in my living room which doesn't have a smoke detector. I also have an office in my house with a smoke detector, if I vape in there will I set it off?
I can't speak to the girl tech as I deal in guy tech. :) Your mouse problem may be simpler than you think to solve. Turn the mouse upside down and undo the plate that holds the ball in. Clean out any accumulated dust and dirt that's in there and I think you'll find an amazing difference. I clean out my trackball mouse about once every 2 weeks and it has what look like little dust bunny pancakes around the parts that the ball moves. And if that doesn't work, you can pick up a trackball mouse for about $20 at most Office Depot type places. It will take you a few days to get used to but it's an option for you while you're waiting for wireless. Hope that helps and good luck!
Q: really though, I think I'd have to run outside naked and if my cellphone was not in reach, use a neighbor's phone to dial 911. Talk about a rush. now the people I know cant even say the only thing I own are the clothes on my back. Is this the right thing to do, to not grab anything on your way out?
Rusty's right. Plumber's language usually refers to the hole in the pipe, or inside diameter, so when we mere mortals measure things, we get waylaid on the outside diameter (OD) and get confused. Any hardware store or building center will have a bin full of 1 1/2 SCH 40 PVC tees - just stay away from the lightweight under-the-sink stuff - which fits 1 1/2 OD pipes So it goes. 75% of the 1/2 brass compression fittings I sell get returned, because nominal 1/2 copper pipe is actually 5/8 OD. etc. By the way, for structural/non-plumbing PVC use, there are specialized fittings that are useful, like couplings without a shoulder inside, so they can slide along the pipe, angled tees with a fourth socket on the side (like for the top end of a tent), or even five or six-socket fittings for hubs, etc. Harder to find, but cool.
Q: Pipe thread metric can be directly measured by vernier caliper and pitch gauge; for pipe threads English and American, also have the corresponding screw pitch gauge to measure, but how to measure the diameter of thread? How about a vernier caliper? Some threads are tapered. Which point is the measurement accurate? Never figured it out. As the imperial R1/2-14 and American NPT 1/2-14 this thread how to distinguish?
Inch thread is an isosceles triangle with 55 degrees, 60 degrees is made of an equilateral triangle, if you have a good tooth type gauge measurement, also the same number of teeth have more teeth than American english. Therefore, the two threads in your subject are short in length and inch in english.

An easy to collapse button. The stroller I have now is so hard to collapse, you have to pull up on a lever then squeeze a handle and the handle gets stuck. I like have two drink holders at the top of the stroller, it's convenient for times we go to the park or a big public place like the zoo. I can put my water bottle in one and my oldest daughter's water bottle in the other. An adjustable seat back, so if the baby is tired I can lay her down. If she's alert I can sit her up. I like the ones that you can position it to any angle, so if your baby isn't quite supporting their head you can have them a little reclined so their head doesn't fall all over the place but when they get a little older and have more control you can put it pretty much vertical and they can see everything around them. Brakes on the back wheels. This is so important! I took my daughter to the park once and didn't lock the brakes and she started rolling away from me. I grabbed the stroller before it could get too far, but it scared me. Not to mention my older daughter likes to push her around and I can put the brakes on so they can't get away from me. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Q: The air conditioner outdoor unit tube joint frost even frozen, then the cooling effect is not very good, let people to put the tube for tube, it is flat, then wash the indoor and outdoor unit for good, but after the tube joint is still the same, even frost freezing, refrigeration effect is very poor, cold still cold, but the results are poor, not very cool. Today, I called the master again. He checked and said there was no air leak, then all the gas was drained and the snow was renewed. Later, that tube interface still frosted, I do not want to call the master, and too much water, so many times can not do.I have always stressed and master is not completely open tube valve is not so cold medium to plugging in there, he has not said, I just want to do you need to twist the valve, how to operate, I just want to look at the valve is not open to the maximum torque.
Find the right size of the six angle wrench, facing the cut-off valve, counterclockwise turn on the valve, clockwise turn off the valve.
Q: There are apartments built after the millenium that has sprinkler sytems; when someone in their kitchen generates steam, the smokedetectors activate making a false alarm elswhere too.My question is: does the sprinkler system responds to the smoke detector alarm by blowing water, carbondioxid or nothing in such a case?
