- Q: What are the different types of coil edge trimming machines?
- There are several different types of coil edge trimming machines available in the market. These machines are specifically designed to trim the edges of coils or rolls of various materials such as metal, paper, plastic, or fabric. Each type of machine has its own unique features and capabilities, catering to different trimming requirements. 1. Manual Edge Trimmers: These machines are operated manually, where an operator manually feeds the coil and trims the edges using a cutting tool or blade. Manual edge trimmers are typically used for low volume trimming applications and require the operator's skill and precision. 2. Semi-automatic Edge Trimmers: These machines have automated feeding mechanisms that assist in feeding the coil through the machine. The trimming process is still performed manually by the operator using a cutting tool, but the feeding mechanism reduces manual effort and increases productivity. 3. Automatic Edge Trimmers: These machines are fully automated and require minimal operator intervention. They are equipped with advanced sensors and controls that enable precise and consistent trimming of coil edges. Automatic edge trimmers can handle high volumes of coils and are often integrated into production lines for continuous trimming operations. 4. Rotary Blade Edge Trimmers: These machines utilize rotary blades to trim the edges of coils. The rotary blades rotate at high speeds, cutting through the material with precision. Rotary blade edge trimmers are commonly used for plastic or fabric coils, as they provide clean and smooth cuts. 5. Guillotine Edge Trimmers: These machines use a guillotine-like cutting mechanism to trim the edges of coils. The cutting blade moves vertically and cuts through the coil material in a straight line. Guillotine edge trimmers are suitable for trimming metal or paper coils, as they provide straight and accurate cuts. 6. Laser Edge Trimmers: These machines use laser technology to trim coil edges. The laser beam precisely cuts through the material, resulting in clean and precise edges. Laser edge trimmers are often used for delicate or high-value materials, as they minimize the risk of damage or distortion. Each type of coil edge trimming machine has its own advantages and limitations, and the choice of machine depends on the specific requirements of the application. Factors such as material type, coil dimensions, trimming precision, and production volume should be considered when selecting the appropriate machine.
- Q: I received a very nice set of stainless steel cookware as a wedding gift. While very pretty, Im finding them almost useless for cooking. Everything sticks, they're difficult to clean, and Im using my old non-stick pans instead. Should I simply leave the stainless out for decortive purposes, or are stainless steel pans better for some applications?
- I can't understand why you're having difficulty. My pans are as good as the day they were bought.I would never return to non-stick after having my stainless steel pans! Non stick coatings come off in the food-yuk! What are you cooking in them? Are you trying to wash them in the dishwasher? That never works well. I always put water in mine if I've done a custard or stew, beans or things like that, for a little soak before washing by hand in hot soapy water. They really are great even when I have burnt something, because you can scrape the burn with a sharp implement and you do no damage at all to the pan. I highly recommend them.
- Q: What is the strongest steel ever made.
- *NS110 steel used in Oyashio seems to be the strongest steel . Its tensile strength is not less than 110kg/mm^2 which is equal to 1078 mpa or about 157000 psi *HY 100 (not less than 100000psi and not more than 120000 psi) *HLSE100 (approximately 142850 psi). and can have more tensile strength.
- Q: a picture of the atomic structure of carbon steel
- This is actually a quite complex question... The atomic arrangement in steels can be controlled over a pretty wide range of different structures. This is really the fundamental reason why steel is such a commonly used material. The different atomic structures produce different physical properties so metallurgists have developed many different processes to control the atomic structure to get the properties they want. One simple answer is that Fe is BCC, body centered cubic at room temperature at equilibrium conditions. When you heat Fe up, it transforms to FCC, face centered cubic. If you continue heating Fe, it goes back to BCC, then it melts. The addition of C makes these structures (and the transformation temperatures) different. Deviating from equilibrium conditions by, for example, cooling very quickly (quenching) creates different atomic structures (one of the most important is known as martensite). Depending on how much C is in the steel, you can also have two different atomic structures (two different phases) present in equilibirum, for example, pearlite which is a mix of alpha Fe (BCC) and iron carbide Fe3C (orthorombic crystal structure). So... you need to think a little more about exactly what you want a picture of. I hope this helps
- Q: could someone please explain to me in detail the functions of stainless steel wall ties?
- `You are not asking why they are stainless steel, but the function of wall ties. During construction of a house the wall ties start at damp proof course level. At all reveals ie doors /windows, one tie is placed on every 3rd course of bricks and 6 back from the reveal. Thereafter in the main run of brickwork 1 tie is placed every metre distance, starting at the DPC and the 6th course then the 12th and so on. They are not placed directly above each other, but in a sort of pyramid fashion. Their purpose is to hold the 2 skins of walling together, thus doubling the strength of the cavity wall in a very effective way. Stainless steel is a better quality of tie, but are not really necessary these days, because the cavity is insulated. In the old days you got condensation in the cavity and the ties rusted, and as a result of this disintegration you got bulging walls where one wall fell away from the other. Stainless steel lasted much longer because they did not rust so easily.
- Q: ok I got a dpms ar 15 and all i have put though it is good brass 223 ammo but is it ok to shoot the old crappy steel cased wolf ammo out of it will it hurt its function or will it hurt it cosmetically?
- The primary complaint about wolf steel cased stuff besides it being dirty is that is wears out the chamber and extractor faster than brass. That is not true. It would be true if the cases were actually steel instead of a mixture that has a hardness that is close to brass. Now to prove how pervasive this myth is I expect a minimum of 4 thumbs down for this statement alone. In any case the only issue is that is you do use steel cased ammo the chamber has to be better cleaned. The residue left behind from the coating on the steel casings will build up. If you keep firing the cheap steel cased stuff this tend to be less of an issue but when you use brass cased ammo without cleaning the chamber out or in the same session once it heats up the stuff will actually grip the brass tightly causing case head tears. And your only option is to wait for the gun to cool down yank it out by hand because at that point the casing is in essence glued into the chamber.
- Q: What are the different coil edge options?
- There are several different coil edge options available, including open coil, continuous coil, offset coil, and pocket coil. Each type of coil edge offers unique features and benefits. Open coil edges are interconnected and provide a durable and supportive foundation. Continuous coil edges are made from a single piece of wire and offer enhanced stability and motion isolation. Offset coil edges have an hourglass shape for improved contouring and pressure relief. Pocket coil edges consist of individual fabric-encased coils that move independently, offering personalized support and minimizing motion transfer. Ultimately, the choice of coil edge depends on personal preferences and desired sleeping experience.
- Q: How are steel coils used in the production of pipes and tubes?
- Steel coils are used in the production of pipes and tubes by being fed into a pipe or tube mill, where they are unraveled, formed, and welded together to create the desired size and shape of the pipe or tube.
- Q: so my parents gave me stainless steel cookware for christmas and the first time i used it i cooked chicken. it stuck to the pan and where the oil splattered it cooked on and turned it dark black and brownish. and the bottom too. i don't cook with it because i don't want to burn it on anymore but i don't know how to clean it. how do i cook without burning anything, aside from a lower flame and how on earth do i get the stains on. i've tried almost everything too! thanks.
- Use oven cleaner. It will take off the burnt on stuff just like it does in the oven. Spray it on, put the cover on the pot and let it sit for a while. If the problem is on the outside, do the same but put the whole thing in a garbage bag to control the fumes. Wash the pot like you would normally to get the oven cleaner off. You will want to wear gloves too. Oven cleaner is very caustic. By the time you realize you are being burned by it, it's too late. The oven cleaner should do nothing to the finish of the stainless.
- Q: I work at a tool store. I told my boss last week we needed more pruning shears so he did get more of all kinds. Thing is out of all of the shears he brought Two of different kinds say they are made out of Japanese steel. I have never heard of Japanese steel so now i ask you (the public) whats the difference between it and steel from the US or any other country? Those shears are worth more then the ones he gets from Mexico and China and even more than Black and Decker, Fiskars, etc but not more then Corona brand ones.
- Well Japan, with democracy and code standards, would be better than China or Mexico, with poorly paid workers and poor standards and poor quality. I don't know why or if its better quality than US steel
