- Q: solar panel capacity, how do it work
- You can find a lot on the Internet about how solar panels work. See the links below. I'm not sure how you define capacity. Solar panels are made up of many solar cells. Each cell is capable of generating a low DC voltage while delivering a small current, Several cells are connected in series, making strings to develop the required voltage. Then many of these strings are connected in parallel, so the panel can deliver a usable current. Then the panels are connected in series and/or parallel to deliver a usable voltage and current. My panels are rated at 24 volts. 20 panels are connected in series to develop 480 volts. This is sent to an inverter, which converts the 480 volts DC to 20 volts AC
- Q: i am looking at installing some solar panels and a wind turbine for electricity.has anybody got one of these and how much do they save you?thanks
- I don't have one myself, but some of my neighbors did. They said that wind is cost effective. The equipment will make money over the lifetime of the equipment. When they did the calculations for solar, the savings did not cover the cost of the equipment over its lifetime. They were very happy with their wind turbine and several months even got paid by the power company for putting energy back into the grid. However, this was when I lived in Kansas. Wind does matter on location.
- Q: Got a quote for about $K today for solar panels to save me about $00 a month on my electric bill. I was just wondering if anyone had successfully bought and installed their own and how it worked for you?
- i do no longer yet i comprehend lots on the venture. e mail for information. a great number of ppl set up them yet just to cover there electric powered warmth/air. It saves them money. i comprehend lots of people who've tiny ones exterior there window to means the lights fixtures in that one room. Its no longer an eye fixed sore the two. i stay in Canada.
- Q: How does the snow cover get removed from the panels?
- Green energy magically makes the snow transparent. The more I learn about solar and wind, particularly selling excess power back to the utility, the less sense it makes. You'll have noticed, perhaps, that there was no way to store the power from the panels for when it's really needed.
- Q: can solar power panels installed at home provide enough electricity to power house hold appliainces and heat water.
- During daylight hours yes. I have just six panels, and during the summer, with feed in tariffs paid by my retailer, I hardly pay any electricity bills. Many people around me have up to 20 panels on their roof, and are gross feed in to the grid, meaning no more electricity bills. * or preferably 0 panels will ensure you never have to pay an electricity bill again.
- Q: I have a solar panel 7.5V .25W 50mah, connect 2 in parallel to power a RC boat. The boat use to run on 6cell battery pack - 7.2V 800Mah.The dc motor requirement based on the provided battery pack, i assume would be 7.2V and rated at (7.2V * .8Amp) = 2.96 Watt.Would two of my solar panels run this DC motor ?are my calculations or understanding correct ?do lend a hand dear ''world''
- Wood? Steel tubing could be a lot lighter. Use the hardest narrowest tires you can find bicycle wheels and tires would work nicely and they can be had with really light disc breaks. As for a motor a golf cart motor is made to order. You can get an old electric golf cart and have almost all the parts you will need. Hell cover the roof of the cart with photo voltaic and have a ball. Note I stress weight savings as weight will cost you energy and with photos you won't have much to spare. You will need a battery pac of some sort lithium are a better choice than lead acid. there is a ton more to consider good luck with your project.
- Q: I am in the market for buying a home. There is one for salke that actually has solar panels on top. How are they used? Do you need to pay for gas and electric still. Does it really light up the house and keep it warm. WHat about the AC keeping hte house cool in the summer does it work for that too? Please explain in solar for dummy terms. I haveno clue about solar panels other thatn the fact that it needs sunlight to run.
- No standard home can operate on solar panels alone unless there is about an acre or more of them. Plus, they require lots of batteries and complicated switching devices. And, they are very expensive, so rarely pay back their up front cost. Right now, more of a gimmick than a practical solution to power needs in the home. The house you're looking at may use it to power emergency lighting in case the grid went down. Or maybe a small fan to exhaust heat out of the attic. Who knows. Just have to ask.
- Q: I need a 2v (500-800ma) solar panel that in can fit on a 24inx4in flat surface. Where can i get one this size and with this power?
- Here's okorder /
- Q: hey, Im going into my senior year at high school and after that will be moving to Pennsylvania where my family has a house on ten acres and I will be going to college there and living all year around. My father wants to build a huge barn for our cars and other stuff like tools, I mentioned too him what about solar panels on the roof to power maybe the house and barn. Would this be a good Idea? Where would be the best place to look into getting solar panels be? Thanks for anyones help!
- This is a site that can help you estimate the size and number of panels that will power what you intend to provide for. There are plenty of sites selling the panels, so compare prices. Also, check whether your state is offering the rebate like the state of CA is and what the restrictions, terms and conditions are. Even with the rebates they are very costly, so be certain to calculate the pay off period for your application to see whether it is a cost efficient option for your energy usage.
- Q: First of all is it possible? I do not know how much electricity my dehumidifier but could someone give me an idea of how much this would cost to do? A link to a solar panel or equipment that would do the job would be nice too. Thanks in advance.
